From a vendor stand point, while we sold all of the inventory we brought down, did a lot of drop ships from the warehouse for heavy/bulky items we didn't bring with us, and took some pre orders on quad kits, this was by far the least busy that event has been since the first time. People are still spending money but the actual turn out was terrible. It seemed slow and not a lot of energy there like in years past. Most of the faces coming through each day were the same from the previous days. It seemed like mostly OGs there this year without a ton of new riders. Most of our sales were to previous customers. Hard to say what the cause was. Maybe due to gas prices, lingering covid worry, the cost of the event goes up each year, people are getting tired of the venue, who knows. Next year should give us a better indicator.

While it sucks, I have done it on jack stands and quick jacks before. Jack stands being my least favorite. As others have mentioned it is a very easy process. You will need a transfer pump to refill the trans. We use Redline MT-90 in all of our vehicles here. It's great stuff. https://zzperformance.com/prod…1&_psq=mt-90&_ss=e&_v=1.0 The pics below give you all the info you need to change the fluid successfully. Hope this helps.

Could this fit on the other gaps in the roll bars?

It would not fit in either of the side slots as they are a different size as are the angles. You'd need to really modify the mount for it to fit but like Edward said, even if you did get it in there, I am not sure any of the action cameras out there correct the image at a 90* mounting angle. While it is entirely possible I am wrong since I do not have the most current GoPro, I know my Garmin Virb and GoPro only flip the image when it is mounted upside down/180*.

My quad kit is a 2015 Z51 vette. It comes with 4 wheels.

That's kind of a weird flex but ok. You asked "How many of these conversations are done by true touring owners? Or is this mostly for show?" I simply answered your question with the info I had.

Sorry, but I took no pictures. In fact, I didn't get to see at all. I was inside the fairgrounds after noon Saturday, and ZZP had already packed up and left. A few others vendors had as well. I would have been there earlier during the week, but I refused to pay the $25 per day fee just to walk inside to see what the vendors had to offer.

We worked in our booth to 8-930pm each night. There wasn't enough traffic or people hanging around to justify staying later and most of the restaurants there now close by 8pm. We were busy all week but there was significantly less in attendance this year than any other year. Trevor and I packed up and were on the road back to MI at 1230pm on Saturday for a couple reasons. We ate at a restaurant Friday night and both woke up sick and puking. We had sold all of our inventory that we brought and I had already used the 20 PCMs I brought for tuning customers so with that, we decided to pack it in and start the 12hr drive home pulling off randomly for puke breaks.

Help could be on the way - my SS in the Smokies 2.0 plan will be much better if I can negotiate the right week !!

I really like this plan. One thing I had thought about regarding the lower attendance this year was, I wonder if the growth of The Sling Experience in TX that happened in April played a part in less people coming to NC? And if you moved the date closer to that event, would the same thing happen? That being said, maybe it was higher gas prices, left over covid bs, or people coming to the same event that gets more expensive for them each year deciding it's no longer a financial option or just not willing to pay those prices. Who knows. Just some random thoughts I had after we had talked at your place.

I don't see the attraction. Obviously people are always looking for something different. How many of these conversations are done by true touring owners? Or is this mostly for show?

kev drives his all over the country driving in from Canada. There were also several at Maggie Valley that traveled long distances to get there. The one thing I really like about this market is that there are so many directions you can go in for modifications and for people to make them their own and do what they want and what they think looks good or do it up in a theme they like. For me it was a performance mod. I've accomplished everything I set out to accomplish on 3 wheels so for me making a quad kit was just further evolution of my build.

Bullet Speed also has an interesting quad conversion - It cost a good deal more, but it has some very nice features. If you are not familiar with it you can check it out here - Bullet Speed & Design 4 wheel conversion kit

Way out of my league financially, but I love the inboard brakes and the way the suspension is setup

If I ever did fall into enough discretionary cash for a quad conversion I can say the DDM kit would have to be high on the list of options if for no other reason than their customer service, but then again ZZP would also be right up there for the same reason - - - - probably would come down to which person I could bribe to come out to Palm Springs stay in a 2 bedroom suite down town and install it here at my home - - - - - :/

I lived in LA for 8 years and visited Palm Springs a couple times a year. I love Palm Springs. Especially October through April. 😉 #michiganisabaronarcticwasteland

Just wondering if anyone got to see the new ZZP 4-wheel kit? Any pics? I think Kyle D was supposed to attend.

Here are some pics. I’ll be finalizing the parts list this week along with pricing. Below is a post I made on my Instagram and Facebook from Maggie earlier in the week. If you’ve got any questions regarding specifics please feel free to reach out to me at Kyle@zzperformance.com or call the shop at 616-532-5152 and let the person that answers the phone you’d like to talk to me about our quad kit and they’ll come find me.

Pleased to announce, and on display at Maggie Valley right now:

TrakHamr is proud to announce their latest Gen2 version of the popular four-wheel conversion kit for the Polaris Slingshot will be available through ZZPerformance. This exclusive retail agreement was the result of the collaborative effort in the design of the Gen 2 Trak Atak™ conversion kit now being offered by ZZPerformance. Still built and designed to the industry leading standards of the original, the Trak Atak™ package offers a new level of performance for those seeking to improve the traction and handling of the Polaris Slingshot. Professionally Engineered, CAD Designed, 100% TIG Welded, Rotary Draw Bent, and Stress Tested this kit is ready for maximum horsepower and everything the track or the spirited street ride can throw at it. Using the latest in GM driveline components and offered with a variety of suspension, gearing or braking options to choose from you can build just the level of kit you need for your exact application. Call ZZPerformance today and order yours!

TrakHamr Designer, Troy Hill- “ Working with Kyle and all the folks at ZZP in the design of this kit has been great, Kyle and the ZZP team have built his personal slingshot to be the sling to beat in top speed events and I knew we had to build something for him that could withstand the abuse he was going to put it through and deliver the performance he needed to keep his spot at the top. We are very happy with the Trak Atak™ and even more so with ZZPerformanceoffering the product as their own. These guys are known for Slingshot performance, and we are happy to be a part of that.”

Kyle Dewey, ZZPerformance- “When ZZPerformance decided to jump into the quad kit game the one thing we knew was we didn’t just want our branding on someone else’s idea. We wanted to work with a likeminded individual that was open to the ideas we had and has the highest quality standards. Troy Hill, the designer of the well-known TrakHamr kit, is that likeminded performance orientated individual. Troy’s TrakHamr design checked a lot of the boxes of what we were looking for that set it apart from other kits. Stronger, higher quality raw materials being used, better designed components, proper suspension articulation, and not sacrificing stability by shortening the wheelbase. I reached out to Troy and the conversation quickly went from a casual conversation about possibly getting a blank frame for a canvas of our own, to designing it side by side and giving birth to a new 2nd Gen kit dubbed Trak Atak™. Everyone at ZZPerformance is extremely excited to be working with Troy, creating the best quad kit on the market. With all the available options, if you’re looking to cruise the open road or push your Slingshot to the limits, we have a Trak Atak™ package to suit every individual’s needs. “

Ours broke yesterday while getting off the interstate in Waynesville. We’re on vacation in Maggie for the slingshot rally. Hopefully my husband can get some tools together and hopefully get it fixed

If you need tools come by the ZZPerformance tent. You can use anything I have. I’ll have whatever you need to fix it minus the part itself.

Personally I would avoid the group rides. They take too many people and it goes very slow trying to keep everyone together. You will meet a ton of new people that know the area or are at least somewhat familiar with it and would be more than happy to have you tag along and show you around. I would hop in with a small group of people like 5-7 total and go out with them. It will be a lot more fun.

There are a ton of great rides in the area. My favorite by far is the Cherohala Skyway. Tons of long swooping turns and tons of scenic overlooks. That is about 30-40min from Maggie. Another great ride is The Rattler. There are some nice long turns, a tight technical section, and a couple long straights where you can stretch your slings legs out. It winds through a cool area and there's a general store roughly in the middle if you need to stop for a snack or something to drink. It ends in a cool town (can't think of the name something springs I think) where you can grab lunch and head back later. That is also about 30min from Maggie. The Blue Ridge Parkway is maybe 10min from Maggie. That is another great ride with lots of scenic overlooks. Tail of the dragon is cool if you've never done it. I get a little bored on it because it is usually so crowded, the speed limit is 25 and its littered with police handing out tickets. BUT I would definitely do it if you've never done it. Hit it early in the week before the weekend and there is a LOT less traffic.

As for restaurants, there is a Mexican restaurant next to the fairgrounds where the event is at called Guyabitos (spelled horribly wrong) that is pretty solid. Cafe Italiano across from the fairgrounds is pretty solid also. Brickhouse burgers and pizza is pretty good but the service is a little slow. There's also a couple solid BBQ places East of the fairgrounds as well.

If you are in to motorcycles at all I would also make a stop in the Wheels Through Time Motorcycle Museum. There's at least 300 bikes in there with some dating back as far as the early 1900s. There's a British guy there that I believe is the GM there. If you see him wondering around or talking to others as him for the guided tour. It's worth it. I think I spent about 2hrs talking to the guy about all the bikes and the back stories behind some of them. His personal back story is also pretty interesting.

Sorry for the novel. I'll have a booth set up there. Swing by and introduce yourself.

do you happen to know the part # for the replacement control arm bushings? I can't find them

The parts they are replacing in this thread are actually the ball joints and not the bushings you are needing. As far as I know polaris does not sell the bushings. They only sell the complete control arm assembly.

Slingblade Our current drain back runs from the bottom of the turbo into the drain plug. Other companies tried this in the past with limited success but the turbo in our kit hangs higher than the other kits which has made this an option for us. I've been running this since 2018 and we updated our kits to this in 2020.

Our old style where you had to drop the pan required you to install a weldless bulk head fitting into the oil pan. I have put pics of both below. If you have any additional questions please feel free to reach out to me directly here in a DM or you can always email me directly at Kyle@zzperformance.com. My direct office line is 616.421.4296 however I am prepping for Maggie Valley right now and not at my desk much. You can also call the shop at 616.532.5152 and someone can come find me.
