Where are you able to get the thicker seals from for the bags?

    Hi @toons2,
I talked to our Parts Dept and he said that he only ordered some additional (regular size) seals for our customer. The customer himself must have ordered thicker ones. I can tell you that neither did the trick, though.

However, there are a bunch of "fixes" in this thread alone. I hope someone can give you the advice and help you need to get your issues fixed! And, if we can help you get something ordered or offer any helpful info, please don't hesitate to reach out!

I seriously don't want to hijack this thread with tangantal remarks. But for anyone reading this looking for an alternative to Corbin Bags, I have ordered from slingmods.com the Alpha Luggage Rack system that mount to the back of the rollbars, combined with the PRP soft luggage bags that fit the racks perfectly. They are huge, and hold a lot more than the Corbin Bags. In addition, I am going with the Welter Dual Exhaust that exits the rear of the SS that will tidy up the appearance of the rear end. Once again, sorry for the digression.

Thanks @rickgi, I'll be sure to pass this info on to our customer, too. Knowing he has options may make him feel more empowered and not so taken advantage of.

I don't believe it but I just got off the phone with garyfraze. He called to talk about the saddle bags, share his own horrible experience, and even offer to help our customer out! What a genuinely nice guy! @STYLIN, I can't believe you were treated that way. I'm hearing really bad things about Corbin- not just the products but the poor customer service.

Thanks so much for your help. I'm going to give our customer all of this information and get him in touch with @garyfraze, too. Hopefully, thanks to the generosity of all you Slingshot owners, we can this situation right for him.

Again, I appreciate everyone's willingness to help out! PS: If anyone will be on the East Coast Sept. 22-25, we invite you to the Slingshot Booze & Blues Rally in Clarksville, Va. We are hosting lunch with a Polaris Slingshot rep and a country-side ride on Friday, Sept. 23. You can contact @McCaw (or check out the event calendar on this forum) for more details. :D

On the Dark Side someone had said that they replaced the existing rubber sealer with a thicker one, and that seem to have worked. I have the Corbin Bags also but had not been caught in the rain. Mine do not always lock as they come open going down the road when hitting a hard bump. I talked with Corbin in Florida and they are helpful. I have tried what they sent me to do and it works for sometime then comes open again. Will taking the SS to them in Jan. when I return home from Mi. as they are under warranty till April 17.

This particular customer has had the door opening down the road issue, too. He drives often in the rain and does not want to be limited by the weather so I think we need to help him find some really high-quality, water-proof saddle bags to better meet his needs. I'd love to hear how your trip goes and what you find out while you are there. Maybe your experience can help this customer, too. ;)

The Corbin bags are nice looking junk. I still have mine, and within the last couple of months I discovered a new fun flaw in the design. When it's really hot the crap plastic where the latch is attached becomes too flexible to close the door. It isn't rigid enough.

Oh, wow! I'm so sorry to hear that but I appreciate you passing that on. As we learn more about a product our Parts Dept. and Accessories Specialist can better serve our customers.
Has Corbin been any help in your situation??

My understanding, from the customer, is that his call to California was re-routed to the Florida location where he was encouraged to drive so they could take a look at it. That's a haul from NC so we're doing everything we can to help him avoid that. We have already tried the "new, larger" seals but they were crimped upon arrival and haven't been any real help. We've also adjusted the doors for him but that provided little long-term help, too. Our Parts Dept. is contacting Corbin to request new doors. I'll let you know how that works out.
Thanks for the comments, y'all have been very helpful to us and our customer...I think he feels a little better knowing this isn't just happening to him :)
