I have two co-workers that now have purchased an SS. The first one purchased a white LE. Of course the refer a friend coupon did not fall within his purchase date. I almost threw it away. Then along comes the Blue LE wich the other co-worker had to have. So, coupon good and I got the $500 in SS goodies. Side storage bags, grill, belt guard, gas cap. I gave him $100 of it for using him as the reference instead of the other co-worker.
Now, if you havent seen the blue one in person, it is awesome. All the body margins were tight, paint was a "no drip" application and perfect. The white areas on the hood and behind the roll hoops are a smooth surface. Dont know if the just primed and painted the stock black plastics or used a new smooth plastic inserts. The clear coat on the white is sharp. All new hood pads "the round ones" with no center brace that rests on the firewall ledge. The rusty engine plug by the exhaust manifold is crome. At work we now have a Red "fast one" White, and Blue SS. The coupons keep coming, oil change, % off, and so on. The moral: Dont throw them away because you never know what might work out. :D:D

And I never see any of you on the road! Seriously!!?!?! What the shit!

Good to hear, I tried to pack it so it wouldn't get scratched on it's way to you. Was curious how they much they tried to abuse it during shipping! :00000028:
Very glad you are happy with it! Enjoy!

Shipping is brutal on the windshields. I got a madstad from another forum member and it was packed pretty well, but still one of the smaller shields broke in shipping. Luckily the price was so good I just had madstad send me one for $80 and I've been happy ever since. If I had to ship out another windshield I would definitely insure it.

It was probably the most fair review I have seen yet. Comparing it to an Ariel Atom or Lotus 7 isn't exactly the same if you look at cost. And yes...being in Colorado...I can attest that the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times are going to suck bad. The lack of oxygen at a mile high really takes it out of the class it should be in.

Holy crap...$150-$170 for the splash guard? I only spent $180 for my Kenwood Double Din. It was on sale but still. Might be the first time I actually complained about the price of a product. Most single DIN covers are under $25.

Kind of the reason I try and repost or answer things for people. If I had joined that forum and it was like it is now, I would probably have sold the SS by now just on the premise that everyone that has one might just be stuck up ass hats. I do a lot of answering on FB as well. Seems like the crowd of ownership is growing pretty quickly and most like me were not up to speed on what is and isn't available in the area of expertise on the slingshot.

Are these actually active in the base model? I checked the fuse box and I have a 25 amp fuse for "Radio/Accessory".

Being on call for work has caused me to miss 3 group rides this year already. Today was the kicker...after weeks of garbage weather...we got a nice breezy 80 degree day the sun was out, I was getting ready to take a ride...and my on call phone goes off. I have been in my home office watching the sun set over the Rockies while being on a work call that I can't fix for almost 4 hours. sad-squared

Did some heavy duty troubleshooting...I forgot that I fused the remote line. I replaced that and I now have power back...but in the process of jumping the SS, looks like I blew the Bluetooth receiver. Wet Sounds told me it was still covered under warranty till they found out I bought it from Amazon...they said since it wasn't an authorized dealer it wasn't covered. Yes...a product on Amazon that was new in the packaging is not covered under warranty. Not the fact it was shorted out. I won't be buying wet sounds again.

I have the madstad 9" extra dark and have it adjusted to look just over the windshield and it's perfect but I am 6' even. Pushes the wind over and I still feel the wind. I have adjusted it all the way up so you have to look through it and it allows a lot of wind under but you can still drive just fine looking though the shield.
