I dropped my sling off at Gregory Polaris on Monday for a service and mod installations. They have all their Polaris Sling Apparel on sale for 50% off. My wife paid for everything while I was outside talking to the service guy. Total was $183 and my receipt was for $63. Not sure if someone couldn't do math or it was the low cut shirt?

Ever so often the light will come on when The ignition cycles through on mine. Not often but maybe once every 15 times I go to start it. I turn it off and try again. Sometimes it only does it the 1 time and sometimes it will do it 2 or3 times. I ask the service tech about it and he said that I could leave it and let them check it, which he said that it might take a while to get it to happen again, or take it and drive it until it comes on and just won't go off no matter what. He said that unless the check engine light comes on so it can be analyzed and repaired it would be difficult to diagnose the problem. Hopefully what Fun says will happen soon and the situation will be corrected.
As I was reading this thread for educational purposes, I saw your signature. I blew water out my nose laughing! Classic! -
Wrong. You and the OP can say all you want from your armchairs. We rode. Hard, inherently dangerous, and a bit spendy. Don't be dissin' us. Can't run off the track if you don't get on the track. Didn't see either of you there.
We had several ambulances watching over us, just in case. Fortunately, not needed. Trust that nobody is watching over you on a grocery run, just to flirt in the parking lot.
Pound sand, dude. Bad post.
I'm truly at a loss for words, which rarely happens to me I need a interpreter to even make sense of the travesty above. I could care less if y'all race around the moon. Racing is not for me, nor most of the folks on the forum. I'm normally the one working inside the ambulance. The point of my post is there was too much arguing on the other site. This is a chance for a new start. -
@FLSLING Sir, I am sorry that you feel the need to state facts that still have no bearing on what I was referring to. Fact- Noel made a comment about brakes being the culprit in the wreck. Fact- Noel was not at the track day and has no way of knowing that. Fact- Noel said there were 3 slings wrecked, once again not at the track and is wrong.
I have been around automobiles my entire life and spent countless days at race tracks. So, your preaching is falling on deaf ears buddy. I've even tried to promote track insurance to the group over at Slingshot Forums.
Unlike you I will not purchase anything else from C.S. unless Noel rewords his posts on the forums or makes an apology. On both forums his wording of the posts is in poor taste. His thread title over at the other forum is "V8 didn't handle the track". I can and will vouch for @Turbosling and @Tango.
Get butthurt easy? Sounds like this boils down to a old beef that belongs on the other site. image.jpeg -
Prayers going out to friends and family.
Was this a slingshot related accident?

BTW, my OEM fronts are probably 3/4 tread left. Mis allignment is death to the fronts.
Agree. I had mine laser aligned in Eureka last year by Cycle Springs. -
Two really cute Gals.....
Thanks EJ. I always say, she takes after her momma! -

On my 2015 I got 16,901 on rear tire...it was time to change so just bought a
2016 --- well I got a 2016 for other reasons --- it was about time for a new tire.
I just put new tires on the 2016 --- had a damaged rear and was getting ready
for several long weekend trips so changed all three to Nitto 555 and now have put 2500 miles on then in 3 weeks so far great.
Ej, how do the Nitto's compare to the stock tires, ride, handling, etc. -
I agree. I was grossly uneducated about the SL when I bought mine. I should have gotten a base. That's what I get for an impulse buy.

No looking back after today. Can't wait for it to be finished. As I receive updates from the installer I will post pictures
Some of the stuff being installed
Looking forward to that review! I just asked in the tech forum if anyone was running Focal. I just had a system designed with Focal and JL Audio. Just the focal component set was 1K. Total I will have $3200 in the whole system.

I laughed at the idea of an alarm till the other day when it was parked at our local sports complex. I came back to find mud caked footprints in my passenger seat. My mind blew a gasket at this point.
What is a reasonable price to expect from a decent alarm with perimeter protection installed?

I have always been an audio system type of person. Back in the day, i even did audio competitions for a few years.
I use suncoast sound in Monroe, La for purchasing and installation. They are high but are true professionals when it comes to audio installation and customer service. I'm not a do it yourself type of person.
I'm friends with the owner, I pulled up on the sling the other day. He met me in the parking lot and designed a system. The quote he gave a included a new brand I'm not familiar with, Focal, for the component sets. The rest of the system is JL Audio, for the amps and subs which I am very familiar with.
Has anyone had any experience with Focal? Online sources all say they are high end speakers with great reviews.

In college I dispatched for our police department from 11pm-7am. I can say it was 96% boring and 4% insane. The only part I absolutely hated was when someone called in with a small child not breathing or something similar. I could handle screaming adults in car wrecks and adults that we're having chest pains. But as soon as I heard a person say something about a small child or baby with something terrible happening your world stops around you and you go into a "get shit done super fast mode".
Fun stuff is when they bust a guy for stealing the Shriners go cart and he is driving around town drunk in it. Pretty much a innocent crime where he is the only one that could get hurt.
You are spot on with kid calls. I can't tell you what I ate last weak, but I can tell you every detail of every infant/child call I've ever been on. Those calls stay with you.
On a lighter note, I will share a funny call that is somewhat gear head related. We get a EMS call at our local O'Reilly's for an electrocution. My partner and I jump in the ambulance for an emergency response. Upon arrival an O'Reilly's employee meets us. This guy frantically explains that a customer was installing a car battery in his vehicle and got electrocuted. I believe my expression was similar to a puppy that is confused by something. My response was, What! He then further explained that the car battery contained 750 amps and it got him good. But wait, it gets better. We get the cot out of the truck and proceed to the patient. U guessed it, we were then confronted by the patients meth headed gf complete with sores and eating air biscuits. Air biscuits are my phrase for describing methheads chewing on air and biting their lips. Refer to YouTube for videos of these people. She further explained that he was electrocuted by the car battery and tripped over a parking buffer, striking his head on the concrete. She said he then stopped breathing and she knew better to touch him because the electricity was still in him. So, after dealing with 2 "special" people, we make it to our patient who is standing up rubbing the back of his head. According to the patient, he was tightening the cable on the battery when his wrench contacted the frame of the vehicle. The sparking scared him and he tripped over the parking buffer and fell striking his head. We offered transport but the patient deferred.
I do miss working municipal emergency response for the stories. I have since moved on into Instrustial Safety and Emergency Response.

It's so sad to know these people exist, and continue their heritage of living off the hard work of others. No shame in taking all they can from those of us dumb enough to work and pay for them and their lifestyle
My wife is a nurse at a hospital based clinic. She had a girl come in the other day that claimed she was on disability and medicaid. When she ran her name through the system, nothing showed up. When ask, the girl replied that her status was inherited through her dad. She actually believed that disability status could be passed down. -
Rode all rainy season here- I never "intend" to go out in the rain, but if it is only 35-40%, I often take my chances!
Hahahaha....not me! I'm a fair weather rider. 10% cancels!
-
I prefer working emergency response at night. That's when most of the "interesting" calls happen. Also plenty of time for forum browsing.
-
I will more than likely go with a summer tire when I replace. I have ridden 1 time in the rain and never "intend" to let that happen again. Literally if it is even a chance of rain, the sling stays in its house.
I'm looking for a comfortable ride and good traction only. Probably go with the upgraded shocks as well.
