Not sure I will call this an enhancement to the SS but I guess it was a necessary purchase. For those of you who have been lucky enough not to have seen these parts, they are from the rear axle and the dreaded axle bearing. Had the angle drive recall done back in, I think, 2017, thought I was safe but apparently not. Got the ticking sound out back when going slow and really loud when in reverse some weeks back. Not heard of anyone having this issue since back in 2015/2016. 41,900 mi.

.....looks like the exact same bearings I just removed today from the drum inside my washing machine, now I wait for parts.......

....what year & are there ANY aftermarket lights (leds etc) connected to the blinker lights in the front or rear......any at all or is just stock wiring for the blinker lights with nothing tapped into em....is there an alarm system installed on this vehicle ......lol I could go on but instead .......

Are you able to get access to the brake calipers to bleed the brakes with the wheels still on or do they need to be removed?

...its possible but much easier removing the wheels......and thanks to this forum I've learned about speed bleeders and love em got em on my car, slingshot & have for my harley but havent installed them yet on that, guess it's because I don't ride it much, not in a hurry........

Many people use the QuickJacks. Or you could go with the RaceRamps. But just buying a shorter jack might be cheaper in the long run. Harbor Freight has a low-profile jack that fits under the sling very well.

If all you're worried about is changing oil, I just bought a shorter oil change pan from Autozone. Slide it under, open the Fumoto Oil Drain valve, drink a beer, etc. Everything else I've done (including turbo install) was with a floor jack and some jack stands. Getting just the front off the ground is enough for me to get under it. If I need more room underneath, I've raised the rear on some 2x12 boards and then jack stand the front.

.....man my quick jack 5000 is the best item I ever brought for my garage, just did a complete brake fluid flush on my Genesis outside in my driveway, that's the beauty of these jacks....sometimes I use em indoors, sometimes outdoors and on all my vehicles I use em.....

........i have the repair manual but don't have access to it at this moment but if no one sends you the procedure for it, I'll send you what's in the manual for the bearing job first thing in the a.m. Good night folks

When I first read that the engine had to be puled for a clutch replacement, I wondered WTH Polaris? I'm a little surprised no aftermarket company has offered a bolt-in replacement crossmember. I guess it might be for liability reasons, but it seems like some form of clamped or welded solution should work.

.....could be because you would have to slide it back before you can drop it and i dont believe theres no room to slide it back, so instead you have to pull/slide the engine off of the trans......I'm no mechanic but I did stay at a Holiday Inn once lol......

Sorry you paid that much for the clutch swap labor. It really is not a hard job to do, especially on a stock slingshot without a turbo or supercharger. As to why Polaris didn't make it so the transmission could come out the bottom, I have no idea, I am guessing they also thought it was not a big deal to pull the engine. We obviously have done it a bunch here, but right now my personal record is 54 minutes from starting to jack the front of the Slingshot up to having the engine sitting on the ground. That entire job took less than 3 hours to do on a stock Slingshot, these really are the easiest vehicles we work on for this type of thing.

.....WOW 54 minutes.... i would say i can jack it up and get a stock no mods engine out and clutch replaced and engine back in within a day unless my shepard requires some play time than 2 days.....but I agree it was easy with the right tools.....someone has asked me about changing their clutches out, I told him 500 to start 500 once I pull the engine and 500 once I'm done which I thought was fair so we will see......

.....I pulled my engine to change my blown up clutches but I haven't heard of ANYONE on here or else where of pulling their transmission without the engine coming out.....good luck with that....

...one thing for sure is this was the best mod I did on this vehicle, with the performance clutch Instead of the stock clutch .....thanks Dave@DDMWorks
