I used to sell and install LED's on motorcycles as a side business. I strongly advised against running red or blue while moving. In Illinois, the only color that can legally be visible on any moving vehicle, and from any direction, is amber. Ok, so I call my orange lights amber. It's close, isn't it? :D:D:thumbsup::thumbup::evil:

If you are going to be running it hard in turns ...You bet ya... I would put any tire on other than the Kenda .

Ditto. The Kenda's suck. I have a 315/30/20 R888 on the rear. Awesome dry traction, but suck in the rain. Most of my driving is local and in good weather so it isn't to big a deal. Tread life is less than stellar. I got 5000 out of the first one but that is with multiple block long burnouts. I can't keep my foot out of it. I hope I get 4000 out of the next one when I get the supercharger.

I plan on getting a second rear tire, something like the G2, for road trips so I don't get caught in the rain.

Ok - ya got me - what is a Cozy Dog - I'd hate to think I might expire and never have one :)

Yes, you have to try one from the original formula. Essentially it is almost the same thing as a corn dog. A corn meal based batter that is a little different than most but the big difference is how they cook them. Corn dogs are thrown in oil and cooked floating on top. You have to turn them to get both sides cooked. A cozy dog is clipped into a holder by the stick and submerged in the hot oil. It cooks quicker and more even.

Cozy Dog Drive In is famous. They have been featured on at least 3 different food channel network shows including the "Top 10 Best Hot Dogs in America". I have lunch there once a week for over 40 years. It isn't uncommon to stop in there and see 20 motorcycles or street rods on a cruise across the country. Or a group or Europeans or Asian's visiting the US. And it is one of the historic Route 66 landmarks. If you ever make it up this way, stop in. Just let me know your coming and I will meet you there.

@WingShot can vouch for them to.

I have NEVER had a Corn Dog! ;(

You need to take a road trip to Springfield IL, Home of the original Cozy Dog Drive In. Bob Waldemire came up with the concept in the army prior to WWII while a cook at a base in Texas. His grandkids run the restaurant now.

Just for the uneducated, there is a difference between a corn dog and a cozy dog. Don't go in there and as for a corn dog, it doesn't go over well.

I get them from China on eBay. They take forever to get here. That is why I buy them in bulk.

That's where I got mine from as well. I just got one color, orange of course, and lit the crap outta it. Almost 2 years and all still working well.

You just need to make sure you get the 5050's (the size of the LED's) and find ones that have more LED's per foot. I can't remember what mine are but they are tight and bright. No hot spots on the ground.

This brings up another question. In states that have Autocycle laws, do you have different plates? Here in Illinois, We were one of the few first states with the autocycle designation and they are supposed to come out with autocycle plates. 2 years later, I still have MC plates and the Secretary of State's office doesn't know anything about autocycles. So do any states have autocycle plates?

I've had my brakes done along with some other parts. Swingarm, coil pack cover and I currently have all my front suspension getting done, all in purple. I should have my control arms and spindles back today or tomorrow.

the company I work for did a similar giveaway at the SEMA show three years ago.
My suggestion would be to have keys made (40) but only one of the keys cranks it. 39 almost correct keys 1 that works.

Make sure you make extra dummy keys and triple check that they do not work. You do not want to have two that work.
39 confirmed non-working keys and the one working key are place the in a bag and have the 40 people pull blind.

This is a good idea. But make sure no one sees the working key.

I was a participant in one like this, giving away a car. They made a big production over showing the working key going into a jar. They held it up for everyone to see. They were also multi colored keys with swirl patterns on them. One guy ran out of the crowd up to the stage to get a close look at the key. Wouldn't you know it, he was about the 10th person called to draw and he picked a key, looked at it and threw it back and picked another. Same thing with that one. Finally, he looked in the jar and picked a key out, tried it. Guess what, he drove home in a new Mustang that day. He said he looked at the swirl pattern and the pattern of the cut and new the first two he picked were wrong and since they didn't stop him, he kept looking for the right one. Everyone cried fowl, but what are ya gonna do?

Just make sure it is a blind draw and only one chance to draw.

I still have the stock seats. When I first got mine I drove it almost daily to work. I usually can park under trees and it isn't bad. One day I had to park at another facility and it was in full sun. I ran out for lunch and flopped into the seat. I had to drive while holding myself off the seat. I ended up with actual blisters on the back of my thighs. That night I stopped on the way home and picked up a couple of black towels. It's easy and quick. I haven't had a problem since then. The good thing is that if you forget to put them on the seat when you park, you can always put them on when you get back in. When not in use, I just tuck them behind the seat.

300 to 350hp is kinda the limit of having a fun to drive slingshot. Anything more and you start having to put thought into every turn and every take off.. You will actually worry about pulling out of a side street to cross a 4 lane highway. You will wonder if it will break loose and the car coming will hit you. You will worry if it will hit boost half way across and slide sideways in front of a semi truck...

I'm being serious. It does have its own set of additional challenges. I'm not saying it's all bad. It does give you the ability to do 70mph roll on burnouts . But it will get you in a jam sometimes.

That's what I was thinking. I want to keep mine south of 400. 350 is a good number to shoot for. Just enough to edge out those around here with "stock" turbos.

I've already gotten myself into trouble a couple of times when I wasn't really paying attention. Getting into a 50mph full lock slide because I forgot to turn the TC back on was exciting. Thankfully, years of dirt track racing gave me the instincts to save it without having to think what to do. (yes I was going around a left hand curve.) I now know to watch out for cinders on the road in early spring up here in snow country.

Movie quote " You turn right to go left" Anyone?

I believe he specified it as SUPERCHARGED, not turbo. Since I have neither, it isn't me. But, hopefully after the ol'tax refund makes it here, that will put me into the Supercharged column. I talked to Jeff on the phone Monday and I am pretty sure that is the way I'm going. It's just a shame he couldn't help me out with my control arm bushing issue.

Sounds like my local dealer. They wanted me to bring mine in last year for the wiring recall. They told me it would be a 3 week wait until they could look at it and then order the parts. I called the dealer 30 miles down the road and they ordered the parts. I scheduled an appointment and drove it when the parts were there. An hour later I was on my way home.

Then when I hit a deer and needed a repair estimate, they told me to bring it in and they would get to it by winter, just to write the estimate. My adjuster told them to go pound sand.

Needless to say, I won't darken their door ever again. The funny thing is, both dealers are owned by the same people. I made sure they were aware and nothing changed.

So when I got the swingarm recall, I called the out of town dealer, they have the swingarm on order and should be in this week sometime. They will give it to me to paint prior to them installing it, since mine was custom painted.

I have the Alpha CAI. I chose it for 2 reasons. First, they have multiple colors available and if you are looking to accent your engine compartment, that is a big help. There is no added charge for the extra colors. The second reason is that I like the aluminum piece that is placed in between the manifold and the throttle body. It makes a nice clean, unrestricted transition into the engine. I don't know if it is overkill or not, but it looks cool.

As far as a tune, do you need one, no. Do you want one, hell yes. The change in drive-ability is huge. The throttle response is much improved. If you plan on an exhaust, I would get that as well before you get the tune so you will only have to do it once. In my opinion, it was some of the best money I spent on my sling. It is so much more fun to drive, especially if you are a "spirited" driver. I sent my to Bob on a Saturday, and had it back by Wednesday, so you won't be down long. You won't be disappointed.
