It was a good thing I turned around I was able to see my mom who took a turn for the worse and passed away yesterday. I didn't talk about it cause I didn't want to bring anyone down on Sunday but my mom has been in the hospital for three weeks before I left for Indy. I wasn't going to go but before I left the Dr said that my mom was doing good and on the road to recovery. My mom assured me I should go. When I got the call in Louisville I was told that wasn't the case anymore. Mom wanted to go home and do hospice care at home. It was a race against time to get her home before she passed and we're able to keep our promise to my mom to get her home. Sorry for the long story just filling people in if they wondered why I had to bolt so fast and not say goodbye to many people! I never even got to thank the owner of the place in Louisville for lunch.

@bjk81 I am so very sorry for your loss, I lost my father in February 2 weeks after we agreed to buy the bar/restaurant from them. As far as the lunch we attempted to provide for everyone, there was one very hard headed (generous) "Posse" member that insisted on covering the tab... so we can all thank that undisclosed individual. :whistling:;)

Wow ! What a wonderful week we had ! I am glad to hear everyone is making it home safe and sound... Kim,Tracy,Tony and I pulled out of Maggie Valley about 11:00 am and were safely parked in the drive at 5:00pm. I want to thank @ivor and team and all of the awesome vendors that made SSITS17 a very special event to remember. It was wonderful to finally meet some of you and great to see some old friends again. A special thanks goes out to @Painter for the perfectly matching "fastest red" steering wheel and @WingShot for the "gently used" shifter knob with "fastest red" stitching. :P:D
I also want to thank Scott and family at Slingshotsonly for... well you know what you did ! ;)

Ok I've got some good news and some bad news !

    The bad news...
Hitching Post burned down the night before last

    The good news...
IT WAS NOT OUR BAR ! it's a competitor, across the river from us in New Albany, Indiana
While we feel very bad for the owners we are extremely grateful it was not our establishment.

NOTE: Yes @Tripod I do have an alibi that's my story and I'm sticking to it :00008356:

My stuff ain't bad but @Slunglow has his in regu lar - mid grade - & Holy Shit !! I bow to the King :D

We have the Beer Garden all cleaned up and refurnished ready and waiting for PAINTER'S POSSE to roll in... The phone # at the Hitching Post Inn is (502)239-4724 just in case any of you need to contact me between now and Memorial Day. Or if any of you are on FB my real name is Kevin Greene... I have been away from the forum more than I like lately due to the fact I am networking on FB trying to build up New clientel at the bar. Here's wishing for a bright sunny day on Monday ... Safe travels and Kim and I are anxiously awaiting everyone's arrival !

Looks like a great place to hang out @Slunglow. You are doing/did a great job. Please let the bikers know, we didn't classify the Sling as a motorcycle. ;) I have been cruising before and had bikers out of the blue yell, "That's not a motorcycle" at me. I yell back, "I didn't say it was" and wave. :)

@WOLF I've had a few haters make comments mostly the ones that think they are bad asses... I always say "show me your bike" and when I can't find a kick start on it I say that's not a real bike like my other one at home. Lol

Ran into @KYJoe57 at the Hitching Post one day this week,he flew some relatives in from Germany, said they were testing the food to make sure it was "Painter's Posse" worthy. I had to leave before I heard how we scored but I think we would have been notified by now if we flunked so I guess we're good to go. So y'all hurry up and git yer asses down here ! ;)

Oh and just for the record Kim and I officially took over yesterday at 10:00 a.m. :00000436: So if any of you have been wondering why I haven't been on the forum much lately it's because I finally had to step in to the 21st century and become a Facebookian. (Kim said it would be good for business) Damn I hate when they're right. :00008862:

Bring it on,the more the merrier... We got this !
I am starting to think as the size of the posse grows replacing the daily menu with "Burger, beans, chips and slaw" might be in order ? I want to do everything I can to make the "Painters Posse Hitching Post pit stop/photo op" enjoyable as possible while keeping in mind everyone wants to arrive in Maggie Valley in a timely fashion.:thumbup:

So very sorry for your recent loss @Slunglow, I was fixing to start a "In Loving Memory" thread in the Ladies section when this thread showed up as a similar thread. I think I will still post it for those of us ( me, inparticularly) who need some kind of outlet to share, remember, discuss, or just help heal from such painful losses. God bless you, and keep you under His Wing while you are sorting out your grief.

Thanks @Guardian_Angel That's a kind act for you to take on ... I'm sure many including me will appreciate it. <3
