@mniron @Bigdog Polaris Slingshot High Performance Brake Pads by Hawk
These are the pads. The rotors look fine, nice and smooth...
I had the Polaris upgraded composite rotors with the Hawk pads from Slingmods installed a few months ago. The other night when it was pitch black I noticed sparks at hard stops...also they squeal like nobody’s business since install.
Normal?
Got the Batmobile in the fall of 2017. "Around 2k miles. Mostly highway. Creampuff. No tire kickers. $50,000. Non-negotiable. No low ballers. I know what I got."- Classic Craigslist ad.
@CDCAMEL6 I’m telling ya we gotta organize a showing at the Lincoln car show this August. There’s close to 15-20 of us within a 100 mile radius I bet...
Btw, there’s a charity auction in March, I was asked to donate a ride in the Batmobile, I bet a bunch of you would be down to as well. Once I get more details I’ll post it.
That was me in the red Mini Cooper waving at ya. Put a hat on brotha, you’re gonna get heatstroke!
@HLC45 is that you?
I commute 175 miles one way to work every other week with a full set of golf clubs, a carry on suitcase and a briefcase. Before I had the slingshade I used to carry a 10 speed bike jammed into the passenger seat as well.... I'd get the double take WTF from everyone on I-55... Strapped down and with the seatbelt on of course. #SafetyFirst
The funniest looks have to be when I'm tooling around Chicago with 2 bags of laundry to drop off after I get home from my week on call...
Her name is Alfred. But she acts like I’m HER butler.
You are correct about the Slingshade being all composite. The only thing metal about it is the screws that hold the doors on. LOL I could pick out a lot of things that I don't like about it but at the end of the day for me and my wife the pro's out numbered the con's. What it is worth is like any thing else, it is worth as much as the one buying it is willing to pay.
Economics 101!
I got 20% off my Slingshade and have had nothing but compliments on the "factory" look.
I’m pretty happy with mine. No issues at all. Also like the fact that it doesn’t look like pvc piping with some canvas stretched across it.
@BKL I’m in Chicago. We have approximately 3 days of summer and then winter starts again.
Considering eventually replacing the rear 305 30 20 on my SLR rim with this....
Thoughts?
Anyone with a Slingshade and a wing they could post a pic of before I spend this/next month's lunch money on a 57" carbon fiber wing from Ebay?
Shout out to @chad warren for graciously sending me the brackets to attach the wing to my frame since I can't use my rollbars.
PRP Gen 2's sit lower than stock as well. Just a little higher than the Gen 1's I believe.
Another brodude let me try his PRPs last time I was at the dealer. Very comfy but not a fan of how they look (or the price.)
I use this and a Bluetooth headset. Wife has never complained about wind noise when I’m talking to her. But she might also be pretending to hear me...

Video doesn't shake...prolly because the arm has some give. Also very secure.
Realized I never posted again! I upgraded to the SLR (Velocity Street Sport) seats and they sit a bit lower and are much more comfortable on the lower back. They keep you in place with the higher side bolsters while Tokyo drifting compared to the Velocity Street seats the dealer had in my '17. Not a terrible price either, ended up being 500 and change with the discount my dealer threw in.
I did the Hawke pads and upgraded rotors from Polaris, huge difference from stock. Squealing is annoying AF though.
I have it on the stock 2015 sl wheel
BUT, it's been widened to 12". It sure makes people wonder how it fits on a stock appearing wheel
Cost? Who did it? How? Safe? Pics? Thanks!
