Thanks for the replies guys! I'll try three or two of them and see how they work.

P.S. I notice not one of you even suggested a way to get her to do the work!

What is the best product you guys and gals have used for cleaning the unpainted(black plastic) areas of the SS like the floor boards, and the sides and back of the sling?

I did a search but all I could come up with was advice on cleaning the belt.

    Thanks in advance!

P.S. What is the best way to convince your significant other to do it for you?

Thanks @‘ghost’! So now I’d ask if it’s better to go with a 300hp Honda engine with a Haltech system than spending for a turbo to get stock over 300hp? Just some concepts I’ve been thinking about and thinking about things from all angles.

I would not even suggest what someone else should go with but I can tell you what I went with and why.

I ordered my DDMWorks SC immediately after ordering my SS. I had talked at length multiple times with two people that live about 20 miles South of me that have them on their slings. They have had them on there for some time and haven't had any problems out of them and they assured me that they were easy to install.

Next @rabtech came over to visit one Sunday afternoon and took my wife and I for a spin on his SS. While it was VERY impressive I decided that I didn't need that much HP and didn't want to build a special motor which brings me to my next comment. It is my personal opinion that if you intend to take the motor above 300hp and expect it to live up to HARD driving then it would be a good idea to at least beef up the bottom end no matter which brand you use.

I know that I could have put a smaller TC on and had the same peak HP that I am getting with the SC but driving style played a big part in my decision as well. I read everything that I could find on TC vs SC given eaqual hp/tq and the biggest difference that I could see was where and when the boost was available. That and also the fact the TC can under some circumstances back heat up into the engine. In that regard it would seem to me that long term the SC would actually be a little less stressful on the engine.

Speaking of HP? I did not set out to break any HP records in the SS world but I did want enough to be able to pull a decent hill. Down the road from me there is a guy by the name of Hill and every time I'd go to pass by his mail box in the stock SS I'd have to drop two gears just to pull by it! LOL Seriously though I did want enough power to go up an incline without worrying about having to gear down and also enough to make a safe quick pass on these two lane roads we have around here.

I'm still learning my SS and learning to ride it with the SC installed. I am pleased with the power and pleased with the fact that I no longer have to consider weight as a factor when I want to add anything to the SS whether it be in the passenger seat or otherwise! LOL Yeah, my gal has curves, not sure what she weighs but 295lbs might be conservative! LMAO jkjk

It all boils down to what you want it to do and for how long. If you expect to compete with @StickerDick or @rabtech you better be built to the hilt and pack a big lunch cause it's going to be a long day!

You didn't ask me but as always I do have an opinion.

A small shot of nitrous "Correctly Tuned" is not likely to do any damage. The huge key there is correctly tuned.

Nitrous is nothing more than a turbo in a bottle or as some would say a broke mans blower.

I personally believe it is easier to tune for a full time supercharger or turbocharger than it is for part time nitrous.

I ran my share of nitrous back in the days before there was such a thing as nitrous controllers. The only control we had was a low pressure switch that would shut it off it we didn't have enough aux.fuel pressure to support it.

My limited experience with superchargers of that era was with the 14-71 Mooneyham and Littlefield's that we ran on the Top Alchol F/C back then.

Fast forward almost 3 decades and now it seems like everyone's lawn mower is coming from the factory with either a SC or TC but I haven't seen any of them come with factory nitrous set ups. They may have but I haven't seen it!

    Hi all,
Has anyone considered in buying a vinyl cutting machine. I have done a bit of research, and the Cricut vinyl cutters seem impressive in what they can do.

@Lui We have the Silhouette Cameo. It has been a good machine and we have done a lot of different things with it. We have spent literally hundreds if not thousands of dollars on stuff that we have done with it since we've had it and we've never sold a single piece. Most have been presents for friends and family but some have been door prizes for gatherings we were attending or gifts for guest speakers and some have been given to charities to be sold at events to raise money for that charity.

Some of the neatest things we've done have been mirrors and glass work. Find you a beautiful mirror and take the glass out of it. Make you an image or poem etc on the Cricut and cut it out and throw it away. Now use the part that you would normally throw away and stick it to the back of the mirror. Turn the pressure WAY down in your sand blasting cabinet and gently blast the mirroring off the back of the glass. When your done spray paint the back of the mirror with what ever color you like.

We have also done cases and cases of beer mugs. You use the same method as with the mirrors but you don't paint it.

We've also done a few of the iron on things but don't really like fooling with that. If you have a press that would be a different story.

You will spend untold amounts of time sitting in front of your computer working on art work and fonts!

    Good luck and have fun!

I haven't seen anyone here post a urgent or emergency situation where it wasn't answered almost immediately

    Good point!

So could we have a special place on the forum for such a post and everyone that wishes to participate be able to turn on notifications for just that part of the forum?

I understand that there are a lot of people on here that have busy daily lives and cannot be bothered with getting notifications every time someone post something.

Just look at how many have posted to the map, how many do you think would do that. That is why I started y own directory.

I believe that a lot of folks would be more likely to participate if they knew their information was not going to be "public" for every scam artist and telemarketer to enjoy. jes my .o2

We have the same thing in the National Street Rod Asso.

Yeah most every organization has some form of it. We are so connected now via our cell phones and computers you'd think that it should be easy to set something up that we could participate in for that purpose. The problem I am concerned about is being able to compile the info and have it accessible to this group without every telemarketer in the world having access to it. Surely someone in our group is computer savvy enough to do it.

It would be nice if we had a list on line or hard back of folks that were willing to go out and assist another slinger in need kinda like the gold book for the GW riders.

When you get ready to set it up you are welcome to include me. We could provided garage space, a few tools, minimal knowledge, and temporary lodging for someone that has broken down in or near our area while traveling on their sling.

Sounds similar here 100% starting at midnight thru most of the day tomorrow... if I could go to work I would rather than sit here and watch reruns....!

@larry you and Anita could come over and help me clean up the shop tomorrow. There's no telling what kind of SC install parts we could find! LOL

I hope my weather forecaster is closer to right than yours is. Mine said the rain would start about 11:00pm tonight and be through by 9:30 or 10:00am in the morning.

I sure wish it would get gone and be a decent enough day to get out and ride for a while! If it does and ya'll decide to go anywhere give us a shout.

    Welcome @Lonewolfmlg !

This is a great group of folks to hang out with but keep a close watch on your pocket book. Seems as though ever since I met these folks mine stays empty! LOL

On the flip side though my SS is getting better and better!

I am interested but not committed.

I would be traveling from NW Alabama and it would have to fit in with my work and racing schedule.

It is not out of the question for us to drop a race to come to a SS event but it would depend on which one.

UPDATE: I see now that the tentative date is on Monday of the week prior to our Valdosta race which is April 5th,6th,7th, & 8th. Not likely that I will be able to swing the off time that close together. Still interested if something should fall through with preparations for the Valdosta race.
