I just received a settlement offer from my insurance company on my frame-damaged 2015 SL with 4,300+ miles. I have the choice of keeping it for $5,742. The rear was hit and all of the parts in back are damaged as well as the hood and right front corner. However, the engine/tranny are still good along with many other parts. I don't know the value of the drivetrain but am considering keeping it for a spare or builder. Does anyone here have an opinion on value and/or experience in parting out a Slingshot?

When I did my research for a compact compressor.....the Fix-A-Flat compressors and a couple others got horrible reviews. The Airman had really good reviews, so I gave it a shot. I've used it several times now on a couple other vehicles and it's worked flawlessly. Of course it's not a full sized compressor, so it takes a little longer to fill a tire, but it worked as good as I had expected, and fits perfectly in one of those cubbies.

Thanks @roadog1aj. It's good to know that your equipment does what it's supposed to do. There are some who never try it until they need it, then figure out that they don't have the backup that they intended. They do take longer but at least you're not out of breath when they're done.

Update... selling this SS for $18,000. Wife and I are moving and needing the money. Someone would be getting a great deal with this sling. If anyone knows anyone looking, I would be grateful if you passed along this information.

Great price and tasty mods @Mateo. I'm sure some local buyer will jump on this. As I said in our PMs, I wish I was closer to you. I just don't have 3 days to drive it home to Washington right now. :( Best of luck with your sale and move!

Just bought 12 chances, can't wait to get behind the wheel of this thing, still remember when Ryan Theriot played Shortstop for them from 05 to 2010.

I'm so sorry @KYJoe57, I've already got the winning ticket! Second one down on the right...

If not, it's good to be part of the cure. But I'm feeling lucky!

The canister is CA specific. It is a charcoal canister to filter any gas tank fumes from polluting our air............... don't know if there is anything else on CA models specific to reducing our h.p. and gas mileage--
yet another CA regulation to punish us for living here.... Will be effective this fall when Moonbeam Jerry's additional 12 cent gas tax goes into effect. angry-squared

just a note- canister easily disconnects........... just saying' ........... (please recycle responsibly) ^^

Thanks Brother! I did read that disconnecting the EVAP sensor does not throw engine codes. I recycle lots of Polaris parts responsibly.

Target practice is responsible when properly conducted...

I admit, I like your side profile design of the SS also. It's one of the nicer examples of any SS design I've seen for something like logos or shirts. But this one.... I can't imagine anyone ever doing a better job than this! Clean, simple, and just plain bad ass! No changes to this one, and I'm in for some of the shirts if they are made also! I'd even like to get one in black, with red as shown, in a button front sport/dress shirt.
Respect! Very well done! And it has the hood buttons I got from you on it also!

I second that! Awesome design and easily reproduced. I saw the 15/16 splash guard on the side view but wouldn't have commented on it because it rocks! One other thing I notice, which most probably missed, is the right to left orientation of the side-view instead of the standard left to right. The same as the Ford Mustang pony emblem. I'm loving it!

I am considering the purchase of a used Slingshot in northern California which I would title and license in Washington State. Does anyone have knowledge of the emissions equipment required for sale of the Slingshot in California? My plans would be to add a CAI, header, cat delete exhaust and MEFI tune. Would there be anything that I might want to eliminate? :saint:

Well, it's official. The repair estimate for my 2015 SL came in yesterday at $21,247 including the frame which was tweaked and cracked where the swingarm/angle drive connect as I expected. So now I'm waiting impatiently for a settlement offer. The insurance company reps for both companies, mine and his, have been doing their jobs. The only frustrating part of this for me is not being able to ride.

I'm actively searching for my replacement Sling and have received a handful of offers from forum members, one of which doesn't even have his Slingshot for sale, but reacted to my unfortunate situation with an offer to sell. You know who you are! A couple of turbo'd machines have been offered up but I feel like I should stay N/A. I've owned my motorcycle since 1986 and my CJ5 since 1989, and I expect such a long-term relationship with my Slingshot. CAI/header/exhaust/tune is as far as I expect to go with the motor. This year. And probably next.

Thanks to all that have offered up encouraging words. If this is as bad as my life gets, I consider myself blessed!
