They want you to upgrade to a newer model...

Damn I wish I would have paid more attention in school.... I should have been a meteorologist...

That said my prediction is the hurricane will run up the ENTIRE east coast... Florida to Maine .....Rush is correct..

    I hope I'm really wrong...

Polaris parts are expensive because they have a captive audience in us...

The removable nonremoveable issue is based on what the state regulations determine...many if not all roof manufactures are going to decline to call it a roll cage..that would require actual roll over tests and accepting legal liability.

Most motorcycles don't have roofs, roll cages and four wheels..

We just need to hope all these crazy add ons don't cause the governing bodies to change our classification into something we can't fit into without spending thousands of dollars to come into compliance.

If it bolts on its removable. Welded on would be nonremoveable. My roof bolts to the frame and the roll bars behind the seats. But it's not considered a roll bar by the manufacturer. Liability issues disclaimer

Does it have a metal subframe or is it just a hunk of fiberglass

The problem is the "cone of possibility" is showing the entire state as being a possible track of the storm. So where the hell do you go? Still too early to pack the bags and head for the hills. But if it's going to be a direct hit near us, we're heading out. probably try to find some casino that has room available. I'm sure they'll have back-up power sources, food and water

Which ever side of Florida it goes up...it's so big the entire state is covered anyway..

    Run for your lives...

It looks well engineered, but adding that to your SS ....now it doesn't fit the definition of a motorcycle or an auto cycle.... So what do you do? If it's determined to be classified as a car...you have no air bags, no bumpers, no wipers, and other necessary things... Could, I said could make it not street legal ...by definition...

I want to make this work but I created a big problem...

do not try to connect it to the brake lights...my brake lights stopped working...bike is in the shop now..

That said someone said it could possibly be done using a relay....I'm not an electrical guy so I don't know if and how it would work...

We need someone with good electrical knowledge to tackle this problem...

Another option would be not using red LEDs and using white instead....

One more thing...I have the plug and play tail fin center brake light blinker that flashes when you hit the brakes....I did have that working on the windscreen....but then you have a red blinking light that can be seen from the front of the vehicle which would look light a cop car...

Even having the thing light up only when you hit the brakes could still be an issue...

I'm not sure what the answer is...not having lit or only having it lit when you're not driving is stupid IMO...

I saw something yesterday and it said right now around the eye wall the waves are 55 feet. Not a misprint 55 feet and it's getting bigger. Look out east coast. Predictions I saw put it onto the east coast Friday. Heading towards Washington up the bay. Water levels will double or triple from being forced into the narrow end of the bay. Catastrophic results.

Found out when I took my SS to drop it off to be worked on....I told the guy behind the computer what the issues were....he wrote them down.....the next day I got a call from the guy doing the actual work....and some of the things he thought needed fixed were not exactly explained in enough detail so he could figure out what exactly to do. After talking to me he had a much better understanding of the problems....the point is you should probably make it a point to actually talk to the person that will be doing the work..because things get lost in the transfer of info.

Example...I told the service guy there was an issue with gas flow at high speed...feeling slight lurching like gas starvation..when the guy doing the work called me he thought he could just take it for a normal drive to feel the problem....I said I notice it at 70-80 mph....that completely changed where he wanted to drive it...he realized he needed to be on an actual highway not some back road.

This is probably the reason so many issues aren't fixed properly. Lack of complete understanding of the actual problem to begin with by the actual mechanic.

Real simple, what does it really matter? If the state hands you a licence that allows you to legally operate a motor cycle and you don't have the ability, it your responsibility not the government's. If your child gets his licence to drive and his first car is a 700 HP viper, who's fault is it when something goes wrong. Let the responsibility be with the person and don't make an excuse when something goes wrong.
Arkansas issued a full MC licence to my wife in the sling. If she chooses to get on a bike and ride it is legal, if something goes wrong it is her fault.

The testing procedure is there to make sure unqualified people can't operate vehicles they haven't been sufficiently trained to use in a safe manner so as not to injure or kill themselves or innocent people. That is why they are tested by highly trained LEOs. Any LEO that passes someone unqualified should be removed from the testing proceedure. They know there is a big difference between a SS and a regular motorcycle. The state is also being negligent. Any person who knowingly operates a vehicle they know they haven't been trained sufficiently to operate safely is responsible and irresponsible.
