I checked my battery post after I pick my Sling up, I knew to check the clamps thanks to the members on the forum. That was a little over a year ago, so it was the dark side, anyway, after checking the connection, I coated the post with a couple of coats of brushable electrical tape. When I pulled the battery out for storage last fall, there wasn't any corrosion at all. I'm not sure if there would have been any without the coating, but I reapplied the coating this spring again.

Slingmods isn't to blame... They can't tell what their source vendors use all the time... A lot of times the outside of the ballast will look the same and they inside will be different... And these lights seem to be sensitive to changes in voltage and heat .... So one set may be different for the next set.... They will fix you up I'm sure if you call...
I just got lucky and the Morimoto ballast fixed my issue.... They may not fix everyones....

Master! You must be taking cough medicine again! I have told you that won't mix with moonshine....

I'm so pissed right now I can barely type. Long story short went to start the slingshot today, exactly 7 days since I last started and BAM, dead battery....
Ive glanced at the battery posts before but thought since I bought a 16 this must have been addressed... Apparently not...I'm going to start doing the research but wanted to get a feel if there is a definitive solution. Please don't suggest an Optima as I went that route back in 2004. Started with a red top, lasted 2 years. Went to a yellow top, lasted 2 years. They have great marketing but in my opinion their batteries suck...
Maybe a Blue top Optima.... LOL
Just kidding... you needed the laugh.... Is there any corrosion on it at all..... Do you have a drain on the system?? Just wondering why it was dead.... If you change batteries it would kill the new one if you had something slightly pulling on it.. Hope you can get it straightened out.....

WOW that is a huge amount of corrosion... I have had mine now for nearly 2 years and it is as clean and pretty as the day it was made...
What in the world would cause that much corrosion...

Whateverver you do dont buy from Harbor Freight I managed a store for awhile THEY ARE JUNK!!!!!
Some things I noticed are pretty good at harbor freight. It's like they have two levels. One that isn't worth picking up and one that is OK. Not super or great. But just OK. And that is OK with me if it's not something that will break and pi$$ me off.
If you ever notice they offer an extending handle 1/4 3/8 and 1/2" drive ratchet. That is a good quality ratchet. And the same Pittsburgh lifetime brand sockets and wrenches are OK. And I like some of their impact stuff. You can't beat them for air tools either.
But you would be correct about the lift. It might be OK but it's holding up something that is keeping me alive. So I'll skip the bargain table for that product.

These are a few that @StickerDick brought me in Florida. I have put my order in for a bunch more in different sizes. They were printed on a silverish reflective background. I'm having them made on a white background. They will be available on the site soon and at Maggie Valley.
I will have these and the other logo available.
I even peeled the dark side sticker off my truck and put this logo on... Cant wait for the bigger ones to arrive...

I owe you big time..... I will have to come spray primer and wet sand for you some weekend. I don't think I could make you happy spraying color.......

I never do the same thing.... It's a rule... You have a true One-Of-A-Kind!
Awesome..... Im so happy.... It would actually be ok with me if someone had the same design.....But I'm glad they actually won't! Ill keep my hood up so everyone can enjoy it...

I just hope @Painter you can keep it a one-off creation. Don't let anyone talk you into that design. That is the selfish voice in my head screaming.......
