Progress was made...

Six hours today on the sling and although we made progress it doesn't feel like that much... Up first was finishing the gauge install and routing the wires in a way that kept things clean. Man oh man is there a lot of room behind the radio! I did run the com port for laptop connection into the glovebox to enable some of the programing options and data logging with this gauge. I should note this gauge has a powersafe boost controller type function, which i am not using. It's just T'd into the boost line and that feeds that MAP sensor that came with the gauge for the readings etc... That said it's working and will be good to be able to keep an eye on things. Video of us firing it up to test after install - can also see with exhaust finished and drag tip on it's a tone or two lower than previous video.

The next part of this adventure takes a slightly sadder twist as honestly I've never seen my slingshot so tore apart and it doesn't even look like a sling to me at the moment! Like they say sometimes you gotta go through some pain to get to greatness and this is just part of that. We are also on to electronics which is where I can actually help out a bit more and my buddy and his meticulous method of doing things dang near perfect is good to keep me from cutting any corners - hence why back deck is all off to make sure things get wired correctly. I started with the seats, pulled them out so I could install my seat warmers in them. These are the paper looking ones you see on Ebay/Amazon with coil and setup in two pieces - butt/back. Got them in nicely under the covers and ready to re-install. The plans is to put the switches up under the overhang where the 12v plug is. This will also keep the wiring, fuses and relay and then power wires with easier access for power all up in the rear deck. The accessory fuse is 25amp and each set of seat warmers has a 10amp fuse - so really thinking about wiring into the 12v power right there to have less wires going to the battery. I like the idea of these on a fuse block and then only on with ignition - but just not sure if all that is needed. This is where me and my buddy had our first debate a bit and since we didn't want to mess with any of the ignition wires at the fuel pump (first to turn on when key turned etc...) - I'm landing on just using the 12v cigarette lighter power etc... This is where we called it for the day after I fished fishing the seat plugs through each side.

When I took the rear deck down before (never top of it off) to do the roll hoop LED's - I messed up one of those zerk bolts that the rear deck screw goes into. Getting the top deck off we were able to fix that...weird it just kinda broke when I was putting in before and just spun... real pain, but fixed now! The work at my buddy's really consists of finishing the wiring on the heated seats and then the stereo. I have 4 kicker 6.5" speakers and two JL audio 6" subs for under the dash. The speakers have the LED hoops in them so more wiring to extend/setup as well, but hoping to get that laid out and at least dry run it all to make sure it works and then install it correctly. Lots to do, but spring isn't hear yet anyway!
