Stacy, when you're done, I might need help putting some additional lights in the 3rd bay of the garage here.... LOL
I think it’s time to put your big boy pants on and climb a ladder.

I think it’s time to put your big boy pants on and climb a ladder.
That is why I was reminding you about the paint.
I’m mostly going to cover the walls with french cleats. Fortunately, most of the tools and such are on casters, so moving stuff around is a cinch.
Nice, tidy work. Very nice.
Hard to tell from the pic, but I don't see 20 amp sockets. Did you run 20 amp (yellow) Romex? There might come a time where you want to run something hungry. And, if it was me, I would do green dot hospital grade Hubbell sockets too. Just a bit more coin, yet hold tighter and are less likely to cause a fuss, especially in a garage that is not environmentally controlled.
Thanks! The only Romex I used was through the wall to the breaker panel. Other than that, I used 12ga wire through the EMT conduit. I didn’t consider green dot outlets, which may have been a better option, but I did use 20amp outlets. Also, I’m using GFCI breakers on the panel.
I finished fishing the #12 wire and connecting the outlets for one 115v/20amp circuit. Next add 2 more 115v/20amp circuits and a 240v/20amp circuit.
@Gadgeteer Wow! Great shop! You got a little bit of everything in there. More impressive is how you worked it all in there and can still walk around. I like the idea of storing extra lumber toward the ceiling. I do plan on making my dust collector 2 stage, I just need to settle on the location. So many great ideas!
@sideslinger, That looks great Stacy! I had my garage organized like that, but while working in there, new parts to install, yadda-yadda.... it tends to get less organized over time working in there! I have LED bulbs, but they are the standard looking light bulb style. I have 3 four foot LEDs in the basement, and have been looking at lighting like you installed here. I have all LED in the house and garage, but the garage needs this type of lighting in retrospect.
Unfortunately, it’s easy to let the garage get out of hand.
We picked this lighting up from Lowe’s. Metalux-Strip-Shop-Light-Common-8-ft We got them on a whim, as we were looking for 4 foot lighting but they were out. I am more than pleased.
After all the framing is done... Stacy is going to get right on that! LOL
Next project. French cleat along the walls. Wood tools on my side, and all her tools will hang on her side.
My inspiration.
Drool. . .
Finally finished the lighting in the shop. LED lights make all the difference. First photo shows the lighting we originally worked with.

That DeWalt Thickness planer looks brand new. What model is it?And go ahead and splurge on the feed table extensions, it will make life easier and reduce snipe.
I have the DW735 and I LOVE it.
Thinking of upgrading the cutting head to the Byrd tool shelix cutterhead.
Will post pics of my latest creation when it is done, made with all recycled wood planed down.
It's a new home for my Big Green Egg
It’s a brand new DW735. Woodcraft recently ran a sale on them, which included the table feed extensions and stand for $600.00. Too good of a deal to pass on. My planer came with 2 sets of blades, but I will likely move to the shelix cutterhead after I wear those out. I like the ability to twist one or two of the blades a quarter turn, then be back up and running. They’re expensive, but should last a long long time.
A year older and you still can’t catch up to me. Happy Birthday baby!!
Besides the gift that I’ve already given you on your birthday, I’m going to let you unwrap me as a birthday present. I’m all yours, today and forever. Happy birthday, Hun!! XOXO
That’s a gift that never gets old.
Happy 35th birthday, Stacy! Hope your day is wonderful!
I’ve been celebrating that one for awhile now.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY @sideslinger, enjoy your new toy. Referring to the new woodworking machine.
Thanks and I wish I could use my new table saw, but I have another 3 weeks before the bulk of my wood shop tools arrive. My Birthday was spent cleaning out the garage so we can make a space for it all. All I can do now is wait for it.
I had a great time! Here are a few more photos. . .
Maybe your cat requested that they cancel the order.
I cant believe you did not have any video of me going up the hill when we were on the way to the gap after we crossed the bridge. I really hoped someone caught that.
Here ya go.
Here are some pictures from today...
On our way! Pulling in around 4pm. Beautiful sunny day to ride!
FREEDOM glows bright green in this house for sure!!
....and blue! Don’t forget my blue laser!
