For those of you that having the Alpha turbo kit and either the 1320 (Version 2) manifold or Alpha turbo manifold, what spring are you using in your wastegaste?

@Crusher it was about two weeks, I'll be completely honest with you some guys either don't have the issue or some guys maybe don't step on it hard enough but theres a tune issue and nothing you can do about. The tune is on the richer side for safety reasons. But there's this evil flat spot when you tend to drive hard. Kinda feels like you lose all you power then it comes right back. Usually when trying to shift in to 3rd and stepping on it . Have you ran in to this issue ? I had it with turbo manifold and withought. In the process now of upgrading to a aftermarket ecu.

I have not run into this issue and that is probably because I have not had the 1320 manifold installed yet and the ECM reflashed. Maybe you need to check with Bob to see if he has made any changes to the tune since you had yours done. Also (not likely) but there may be a couple of changes from your tune where I may not have the lag/power issue since I am having the 1320 manifold installed rather than the Alpha turbo manifold.

Jluna317: A few questions. Just curious, how long did you drive your SS with your Alpha turbo manifold ECM flash before you actually got your manifold? Did you encounter any issues with the flash before you got your manifold? Finally, any issues with the flash with your turbo manifold after you installed it?

For you ECM gurus out there, I have a question for you. I currently have the Alpha Stage 1 w/2 bar sensor turbo kit (OEM manifold) with the Alpha side exit exhaust manifold that was flashed by Bob. I am having a 1320 performance turbo manifold/header installed on it and it will now require an ECM reflash. Since I am not unable to install the header, I am having it installed by someone who is 120 miles away. My question is: Should I have the ECM reflashed before I drive it 120 miles away to have it installed or wait until I get back home and have it reflashed? Thanks for your input.

I had my ECU reflashed by Bob when I got my Alpha turbo a year ago. However, I am replacing the OEM manifold with a 1320 V2 header/manifold and will need to retune my ECM. Anyone know what a retune will cost or do I need to contact Bob?

Are you looking for something like this?

I like your concept and have changed my thinking. Now food for thought. For additional heat loss, you could put some small vents on the sides (even paint them a different color from overall scoop to match color of SS). This would help out with additional heat loss. I was thinking along the lines of a house roof vent where heat loss is from the sides. Having the vents pointed downward would keep water out. Make the color of the scoop black matte to match the black part of the SS hoods and have the colors of the vents to match the color of your SS.

    Just one question
Do you all routinely drive the slingshot in down pour rain heavy enough that the little bit of water coming in the scoop would create more of a problem than the rain splash from following vehicles, the splash coming off the front tires of the SS itself, the rain coming in from the open front end, open sides, lack of wheel wells and everything else?
If you all are driving in that kind of rain
    STOP IT

It is not about the rain. It is about getting more air in and heat out coupled with the looks it would have with a scoop on the hood.

Just brainstorming here. For additional heat loss, you could put some small vents on the sides (even paint them a different color from overall scoop) to help out the front intake. Having a limited amount of vents on the sides would not significantly decrease the air intake but would help out a lot with additional heat loss. I was thinking along the lines of a roof vent where heat loss is from the sides. Having the vents pointed downward would keep water out. I would not recommend having any vents at the rear of it as a lot of air would go through when moving.

We're still a couple weeks away from the alpha setup. I'm sending Henry a system this week for him to adapt to his system. Then it will be another week once I get it back from him
so ......possibly 3 weeks would be a good guess!

Where is Welter Performance on the dual system exhaust with the Alpha Turbo? It has been over 3 weeks now. Is it coming to fruition soon?

I know this has been mentioned before in other threads but cannot find a separate thread on it. Has anyone considered coming up with a med to large hood scoop? One that would only be an inch or two above the hood as it is. I know of the bullet speed vented hood insert but it fits flat. I believe there is a market for a nice hood scoop that would allow only limited water in and yet allow heat out when stopped and cool air in while moving.
