Sorry guys. These parts have been going crazy and there's some ramp up time (lots of slingshots out there... We appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay, I know what it's like to wait :| We don't control parts once they hit dealers so we're not sure of their status but the ones you mentioned are Top Notch so they're doing everything they can to take care of you guys. I believe if your not in this production run, then you'll be just about 2ish weeks away from your parts. Again thanks for your patience, I promise they're worth the wait.

    Thanks,
    Trevor

ROGER That, I went to buddy's shop, yup the tiny bastard I didn't have...I can't say anything cause Im known as a tease...Just changing the look of a few things :D

So these will fit ? Right ?
    Kicker 43KM654LCW 6.5 Inch KM-Series LED Marine Speakers 43KM654LCW

Oh yes. and that is the only speaker we offer other then our own..... But note I provided a cable for the 2 wire hook up. You'll have to drill a small hole to pass the RGB wires through. totally simple, but an additional step none the less.

Kinda random but I have my amps installed under the rear fin just wondering if anyone else has looked in to this option instead of under the seat I didn't want my amps to get wet nor did I care for all the extra wiring down there

Should be fine but I didn't love the added electricity by the gas tank although I see no logical concerns. Also, makes tuning adjustments REALLY difficult after the car is back together. ON the plus side, it's a shorter power run and it IS the highest spot in the car interms of water intrusion and run off from washing.

LOL... Technically it IS marine grade. It's just that marine doesn't mean what most think it does (or should). Boats really don't get water inside or they have bigger problems :P Soooo, marine to amps means the coating on the PCB to prevent the corrosive salt air from deteriorating the conductivity of the board traces. It really is a VERY common misconception.

Infact, the last pair of Polk-Momo speakers I saw were rated 'coast guard certified' (not even sure what that is) as marine speakers, they all had open pole pieces holding the tweeter. Car audio speakers don't have a tweeter post gasket seal that protects the inside center of the speaker and that can be a big problem for a speaker in the elements..

    Thanks Bill,

We put the amps under the dash behind the factory radio or pocket. I worry about them under the seat because they're so low to the floor it's easy to get water in them. Even a marine amplifier cannot handle 1 drop more water then a car amplifier. The main difference is that a marine amp has a conformal coating sprayed on the circuit board to protect the copper traces against salt air corrosion. So, the higher the dryer in this case. However, we designed an awesome little sealed amplifier just for the purpose. At the CES show 2 weeks ago we release complete plug-n-play mounting solutions for a number of Side X Sides including the Slingshot. They'll be available in under 30 days and we'll have pics to share of the components next week.

In terms of wire routing... Option 1) The best way is to pull the seats and the rear panel around the storage boxes and route up the center cosole. If it's a 15-16 there are a bunch of bolts and takes about 30-60min. the 17+ use a panel clip fastener and is quicker.
option 2) you can pull the rear hoop covers and fish from one side to the other. Pull one of the shoulder bolsters by the seat and fish the wires down the side to the floor then run under the floor panel seam or along the bars by the pods and upto the radio.

    Hi Guys,

My name is Trevor and I'm with SSV Works. It looks like you got the questions sorted out while my account was getting activated but I'll answer a few just for clarity.

First off, thank you for positive comments on the new enclosures. Our design team did a great job and all new SSV Works parts will have a similar 'feel'. I'm super excited about the new slingshot parts we've developed and they're coming fast. I think you guys are going to love 'em.

OK, so... car audio is crazy. As Rab pointed out, 6.75 is the new 6.5. However, to not confuse customers almost all companies refer to them as 6.5's still except for occasional marketing claims.
What matters is the bolt circle (screw hole pattern) and the clamp diameter (widest part of the speaker basket behind the flange).

Most old marine speakers were small and slow to adapt the 6.75 theory until recently. However, Rockford made the RM0 and RM1 marine speakers specifically to fit in our enclosures. The JL audio MX series speakers also line up and fit perfectly. Our favorite option is the KX series marine speakers from Kicker and they also fit and work perfectly. And, the best option :) is the new SSV Works powersports marine A6 (available in 3 weeks) as it was designed for open air powersports vehicles and is a perfect fit and style for the sling. ALL of those speakers listed above are ARE referred to as 6.5 and not 6.75 by the manufacturers... Even the JL Audio CS speakers you mentioned are actually called a 6.5" speaker by JL. You posted a pic from Sonic Electronix that called them a 6.75" because they do a great job of their own write ups and photos instead of reposting mfg. info.

Hope this helps, please let me know if there are any other questions.
