I thought that kind of Porn was banned!! I love my 7.7lbs of boost. Couldn't imagine 14.
Let me preface this by saying this was my experience and hopefully is not yours, but it might be smart to check. I had Alpha install a stage II turbo kit. With all the talk about issues with boost turbo failures, that some think has been caused by the lifting of heads causing the head gasket to fail leading to piston failure I decided to have Henry install ARP head studs. This procedure can be done by removing the valve cover. The head studs are accessed without the need to remove the CAMS. Henry was surprised to find that the two middle head studs on my stock 2015 Sling were loose! They shouldn't have been loose. I have never had the cover off since purchase nor has a dealer. It came from the factory that way. I was SO GLAD I had them do the head studs. If I hadn't I could have easily seen an engine failure from two weak points.
Now I am not saying yours could be the case. Just alerting to the fact and hopefully mine is an anomolly. However, it might be worth a check to pull your cover, and get and check your torqued head bolt studs. Because if yours are loose it could lead to failure. Henry is going to be checking their other Sling to test. Hope his are snug and at the correct torque. These engines are assembled in Mexico on a mass scale. I have no idea of their quality control, and would imagine with GM there would be some sort of a machine doing this. I am going to be checking my ARP studs as well in a few weeks of driving to make sure it isn't that casting that the studs are screwed into.
Your Sling is most likely just fine, but I felt it was my duty to put it out there to save someone else of a possible future issue
@Bluestar which mighty vac are you using? I bedded my Stop Techs today and the difference is night and day. Makes me realize just how bad the stock brakes are!
I wasn't thinking and was bleeding the rear brakes. My wife was helping push the pedal. Then she said why did the pedal hit the floor?! Nooooooooo! I wasn't paying attention. I knew what was going to come next. Luckily I had the fittings. I had to bench bleed the rear. Luckily it was the front fitting and reservoir. You pull the lower brake line to the master cylinder. Then you run a line back into the resevoir. Fill it up and pump cycle it through. Then re-connect. Sounds easy. It's not. A pain in the butt to get too. Then bled everything again. I just installed Stop Tech brakes and have a hard pedal.
Moral f the story, don't bleed the resevoir all the way. If I had done it to the front, I would have had to take the whole dam thing out.
It's home now. But yes. I went with a new turbo. Kicking myself for getting the cold air intake a month ago and not being able to use it with the turbo kit.
The Ferrari logo is an inside family joke as my brother and I have a running competition to see who gets one first.
TCB,. Sorry man. Good deals go quick....really sorry. Guy paid quick

More air equals more power! Selling my ported throttle body as I went turbo. I felt the low end torque installed along with an intake. Keep your stock one, super easy to swap out. Four bolts, and a plug.
Yours for only $225 Shipped to lower 48 via Paypal only
New costs $325 plus shipping
Look at it compared to the stock throttle body above.
It's too bad though they get their engines sourced and built in Mexico!
@iNewton thanks for the reply. Henry from Alpha had a similar opinion. It can't hurt and would help, but may not be worth the expense.
Some of my buddies with turbos on their cars use turbo blankets. I am getting an Alpha turbo next week. Wondering if it worth the investment. I did read that these others turbos are at 20+lbs of boost which is where the real heat comes from
Opinions?
@Dave@DDMWorks just ordered! This is perfect to order this in pieces as I have the hoses and oil coolers are easy to source. But I trust your products a lot with something as important as oil!
Ours never had the shims in it, but that was from years ago, so it might be something new.
We are actually using shims on ours also since the starting thread location on the LE5 and the LE9 are different. As a side note, from what we have seen every LE5 does start the threads at the same point, same with the LE9 blocks. Since ours was originally designed for the LE5 it clocks nicely everytime, but we had to do the shims to make it work consistantly with the LE9.
Hope that helps and thanks for the info!
Dave
@Dave@DDMWorks I looked on your site and don't see your oil cooler kit for the slingshot? Are you going to have a full kit?
