Shatneyman when I applied mine initially I washed then clayed the car since we were just getting out of winter so I wanted the surface to be as contaminants free as possible and the results have been astounding silky smooth surfaces like F11 at a fraction of the price and does not disappear after 10 car washes which is not a big thing for slingshot but for subs/cars it is.

Currently the only part of the slingshot that has shine armor are the wheels since I am trying to finish the Lucas as well as other products that I bought before I switch everything to shine armor, the black plastic I might continue to use Lucas since I don't know how a "ceramic" would work for that.

The black plastic works with the F-11 so it should work with what you will be using

I think the seat issue is going to be very subjective, in that I know everyone is different! My issue is after 7 back surgeries, it’s tough enough to ride any length of time, but I’m sure there is a way to make the seats comfortable enough that I can get some flying time without hurting as bad! Heck, I had 5 seats for my Harley😳😂

One back surgery, fused two disc 3-4 and 4-5 lower. I have a Mustang seat with a backrest on the Harley and have done 400 miles with that in one day with no problem

So far the stock seats are winning the race? Not a fan of new style, and at $850 for comfort stitch without riding in them, I’m not sure about that🤔 May just rebuild stock 18s and put the money in a top!

The Comfort seats feel good and sit a bit higher that the 2015. We put the comfort seats in @Summer Breeze's Sling but he has not put any long rides with them yet. Also the 2015 stock seats were not comfortable to him and he drives a Walmart 18 wheeler during the week.

Trying to decide on seats this week. I’ve looked at these as first choice! However, I just bought and installed a set of 18 SL OEM seats, and the lumbar support is killing my lower back! I’ve read other post where the lumbar was too much on bad backs! Does the Comfort stitch seats have the same amount of lumbar as OEM 17 up seats? Not wanting to have a custom set built, but can’t stand the push on lower back! Was hoping to sit in them before ordering, but haven’t seen any around!

That is the one reason that I stay with the stock 2015 seats, for me they are comfortable and I do not want to waste money trying something else and they not be as good

I HATE cleaning the wheels on the Grasshopper, so NOW you have got my attention, I just ordered a bottle!

    Bill

I ordered a bottle also, I will find out if it works better on the wheels than the F-11. The dust just wipes off with the F-11 just like I have already said before. My SS does not get wet unless it is raining, but before someone says something. By the end of today I will break the 79,000 mile mark.

Yes, the one on the lower frame to muffler goes easy. No tension on it until the upper muffler to frame spring is attached.
I was able to move the complete assembly forward and used vise grips to easily attach the upper spring to the upper frame.

I used a spring puller and tried to attach muffler to cat pipe while cat pipe was installed on manifold. It was impossible for me to accomplish that, so just put cat pipe and muffler together on the bench.

Sorry about that, I forgot about that last spring, it went so easy with vise grips.

Just barely start the bolts on the manifold and it gives you a little bit of flexibility to hook the springs.

Well for one shine armor is not a every wash thing unlike lucas speed mist, one application of shine armor is allegedly good for several months and so far it looks like under normal weekly washes that would be true, personally with as many vehicles as I own I was looking for a way to spend less time cleaning them and more time riding them given my short riding season.

Everyone kept telling me to get the ceramic coatings specially on the wheels but when i looked into the cost ($500 and UP UP UP UP UP) per vehicle it just was not cost effective in my non believer eyes so after some good time spent with good old google I starter buying several of these spray ceramic hybrids, so far most of them have done really good jobs but Shine Armor is definitely the best bang for my buck out of all the ones i have tried.

Which one of the Shine Armor products are you talking about? Looks to be about four different products.

look forward to hearing what you think - I must admit the hot air in the foot well has me concerned

That was I think one of the very first things that I did. I blocked off all of the holes in the foot well. I made a pattern of the hole and used old style (20's to 40's) wind shield rubber. It comes in two widths, I used the narrower on one side of the hole and the wider on the other and it overlapped so that the pedals would work thru it. Oh! I used RTV to stick the rubber on. There is a DIY over on TDS. It is a pain in the butt to do but it works

Yes! I did just have a crappy day. I just bent the deck on my new lawn mower and no it cannot be straightened out so that it will cut grass level again. Well at least I did not break the spindle. Only $582.38 to replace it. Also 3 or 4 hours to change everything over and to reinstall. Beside the back ache for about 3 days after doing all of that. This is also cutting into my summer time ride budget.

Just ordered the cuffs for SS. Amazon. Will have tomorrow. Little deterrent is a goo thing sometimes, and a little piece of mind.

    JUST SAYIN

Just pull in to the parking spot and turn the steering wheel to use. It is kind of hard to jack up the rear and pull out with something parked on each side of the Sling

A somewhat related question, With all of this talking about polishing up our SlingShots, I am currently out giving the Grasshopper a good goings over, and I have been reminded of a real trouble area, at least for us, and that is the roll hoops. No matter what we have used on the hoops, they still look mottled? What are your suggestions or ideas here, besides removing and resurfacing them?

    Thanks,

    Bill

I soaked mine down with F-11 and let sit until the next day and buffed off. This is the first time that the roll hoops have shined. I had pretty much tried everything to get them to shine
