When I first installed the Polaris double bubble windshields and took the maiden voyage, I had a huge surpride. I got up to cruising speed (over 60mph) and the cup of soda that was in the front cup holder was sucked up and out and turned into a projectile inside the Slingshot. I ended up wearing a good amount of diet coke and had a hell of a sticky mess to clean up (NO comments needed TRIPOD). I now only have bottled sodas and keep the cap on tight so it doesn't happen whe I run those windshields

Funny stuff Fun, I can tell you that when we added the restrictor it did make a big difference before we added the top. I might have to rethink keeping my garage opener in the cup holder. I did make the bone headed move of throwing a 10 dollar bill in there the other day and I don't have to tell you what happened, talk about blowing cash on absolutely nothing!

@funinthesun great review on the new Velocity seats! I sat in a new SLR at my local dealer and thought the seats looked better and felt better than the original stock seats. It also seemed to me that it was easier to get in and out of the SS with the new seats. Maybe you and @Port Saint Sling can answer a question for me. It appears that, with the Velocity seats, the red portion is a different material than what is used in the SLR seats. The SLR seats have a textured material in that area and the Velocity seats have a smooth, glossy, material. It also looks like the Velocity seats don't have the colored piping of the SLR seats. Are these assumptions of mine correct?

I'll probably be at the dealer within the next week, I'll check the comparison for you.

We purchased our Sling 2 months ago & ordered our top at the same time. We're located in south east Florida and put about 1200 miles in topless. For us a top was an absolute must as the Florida sun beats the snot out of you.

We installed the top a week ago and have 400 miles of drive time in. In my opinion the top was built really well & love the way it looks. The "t's" pop up easily for getting in and out as well as come off completely although we have not attempted to do that as of yet. The frame itself is solid and welded quite well. As far as the sun beating down on you and the accompanying heat issue, completely solved, mission accomplished! We have been caught in a couple light rain showers and the top definitely helps a bit with that as well.

We also have a wind restrictor on her so we had to change that to a front mount (no big deal). With our particular setup of the double bubble shields we have created a new issue. The wind now deflects right into the top/cockpit and the restrictor creating massive wind and turbulence (wearing a hat is not possible). So now it's time to buy a new full shield that sits a bit higher which is no big deal.

The wife and I are quite happy with it! I couldn't find much if any information on the Gull prior to purchase so if anyone has any questions feel free.

Just installed ours about a week ago and completely agree with your assessment. I've got about 400 miles of seat time in and I'm very happy with the purchase! I'll also add that I have a really bad back from a car accident stacked with spinal stenosis both upper & lower. The stock pieces of dung had me in pain within 15 minutes of sitting in them. That issue has been solved with the velocity seats.

    It's a setup.......Oh you in trouble.........the bigger the mod......the bigger the diamond!

lol, actually she pushed for the sling originally (not very hard), once we saw the 0 financing it truly became a no brainer. Luckily the majority of those mod dollars we were able to roll into the 0 financing (gullwing top & seats). The dealer had already added the info center & windshield to the floor model...slingmods for the assault pedals, new shifter and wind deflector....looks like shocks are next....maybe I can get them dipped in a diamond pattern for our anniversary.....yep she married a charmer....

Thanks all, appreciate the welcoming feeling! Lol @ member 666, that explains everything!
There is some kind of strange force making pull out my credit card since I bought her...3 weeks and closing in on 4 k in mods....so far the wife hasn't stopped me, very strange!

What's up all, just found your forum. Picked up our new Slingshot 3 weeks ago and having a great time with her...Enjoying reading the forum, thanks for the great info and Sling education...2016.5 base black...
