I have the same thing happen to me. I read somewhere that there is a rev limiter for reverse. Just don't rev the engine as much backing up.

Those wheels are killer , that orange really pops. Great job.

Thanks @Slunglow! @funinthesun is right...
So, looking at the 345/25/20 Toyo T1R which would best work on a 12 to 13 inch rim... Therefore, I send my 20 inch SL rear to weldwheel and ask for 3 inches (20x9 becomes 20x12)? Then buy a 1.5 inch hub spacer? Which spacer? 5x114.3 to 5x114.3, but there are many options... Anything else needed? Saw @SlingRider mention something about 66.1mm ring on TDS?
Did a lot of research last night, but still a bit confused...
Bolt centers are 5 x 114.3 I would think you will need longer studs though.

You DA MAN Mateo. Congrats. The purchase price will be the cheapest amount compared to the mods.

So just wondering... If and when I ever get that big Kahuna pack from @Jeff@DDMWorks, would a built motor be required? I won't be doing racing, dynos pulls, or looking to top out HP... Just want a SC, headers, and exhaust for speed when I'd like it... Can the stock engine handle this without being at risk? Or should I say, is there an estimate for the percent chance of blowing it, stock vs the add ons I listed?
Again, no racing or HP quest, just crazy driving every now and then...
@MiM I don't know of an estimate for blowing your motor with the supercharger....... How UN lucky are you? When I purchased the supercharger I spoke with the guys at DDM and they explained to me that this setup has been tested with no problems. I don't have the miles on mine that they do but for over 1000 miles I have not had a problem. The bad thing is that the crazy driving comes more often than you would think. When you mash the go pedal and that lil 4 cylinder comes alive, it will put a big smile on your face.

@KayTwo you will really like the short shifter. I didn't like mine for about 3 minutes. But that 2nd to 3rd shift is amazing.

Merry Christmas to all my Slingshot family.

@sideseatdriver and I have that discussion at least once a week, it seems, in the 20-40 acre realm. Tell you what, we fell in love with the area around Murphy when we visited. Would love to go check out that part of the world a little more, maybe on the TN side, maybe just down the road over the GA line, see what kind of land there is out there.
Tennessee does not have a state income tax. They get you other ways though.

The top nut on my 2016.5 was not welded on and it was not fun installing it by nyself.
The nut on my 16.5 was welded. Man that would be a son of a bitch to work on by yourself. You are the man @Street Doc to do that.

@EjFord I was getting flight lessons for $10 an hour. The trainer was a friend of the family and all I had to do was pay for the rent on the 150.

Got out of the Army in 1975 after my 3 years, was a UH1H Huey crew chief. Started work as a welder, boy I was gonna get rich and set the world on fire. The only fire was burning my ears, my short and curlys and my pants. Welders were a dime a dozen in northern Alabama then so I moved down to the oil patch in Louisiana. In 82 the oil industry died down here so I bought me a welding rig and turned into a welding whore that would take any job. Got into welding at night at small shipyards on the river for extra beer money and really liked it. So I have been in the marine industry for over 30 years. I currently work for a major chemical company. I maintain the barges that the company owns which includes annual Coast Guard inspections. I have over 100 barges currently and that keeps me busy. Now I don't physically work on them I just choose the shipyards they are near, write a scope of work and then coddle the USCG inspectors, most that don't know port from starboard.

Red, White and Blue would be a good one for us traveling around a lot, could be called the D12 Wanderers ( sounds like a 60's folk group)
You could make it brown like dog poop cause it's all over too.

Looks nice and shiny! Thanks for your quick reply. I'll give a little heat a try. Just as soon as I can get that damn top bolt off the rear shock. Kind of a PITA when doing it yourself, with two fused wrists. My way of thinking is that if they can build the great Wall of China by hand, one brick and a few bodies at a time, I can surely do fill in the blank
@Solow you are using the access hole in the passenger storage compartment to get the top bolt out?
-
^^^^^ @KayTwo you haven't set your clock back on the Sling. You are gonna be an hour early for everything.
-
^^^^ Yeah a little mud for his turtle.
-
For those of you not named @Bill from Hahn RaceCraft, you can do it by yourself, but it's a lot easier if you take the right rear corner panel off and wiggle the right rear panel loose enough to get a light and a hand up in there to get the bolt threaded straight to start.
Or, if you're Bill, you throw the shock underneath the Sling with a wrench and a socket, and the damn thing hooks itself up. Or at least that's how it seemed when I was watching. So @Bill from Hahn RaceCraft you just throw the back shock up there and it hooks itself up? Please inquiring minds want to know your
trick. science.pseudo-science. -
Waiting...... but no money.

Thanks everyone. That's why I brought it up in here.
