Now, how to make this my wife's idea...

    from trip adviser:

    North Route:
Day 1 Seattle via 1-90 to Spokane & Missoula.
Day 2 Early next morning Head to West Yellowstone. Fast route is
stay on 1-90 to Butte - or slow route is to make the loop from Drummond to Anaconda. Stop in Phillipsburg - at the great candy store. Very scenic drive.
From Anaconda - to Butte on 1-90 to cut off on 287 south to W. Yellowstone for positioning. Lots of small motels here - but prebook something. If you get an early start that day - you can go into Yellowstone in the early afternoon and drive the norrthern circle of the figure 8 to see Mammoth hot Springs and Canyon - and back to W. Yellowstone for the night.
Day 3 The next AM - back into the park for the Southern loop. Stop at Old Faithful, West Thumb and outat Fishing Bridge to Cody, Wyoming for over night. If you can allow 2 nites here and a day - visit the excellent 4 museums of the Buffalo Bill Center. Attend the nightly Rodeo. Get tickets for the covered side which is where the horses and bulls come out of the shoots.
Day 4 & Day 5 - Continue east from Cody to down to Greybull and Worland - then east to Buffalo and on to Devils Tower [see Close Encounters of the 3rd Kind before you go} also a good colony of prairie dogs here. Continue down to Deadwood South Dakota and the Black Hills . near Rapid City- Custer State Park
see Mt. Rushmore - Hot Springs and the Mastadon Dig.
(Must get advance reservations - small downs like Keystone, which is my preference - I Staid at the Kelly Inn in Keystone - probably still there
Day 6 - Turn south to Chadron NE - Museum of the Fur Trade - then follow scenic route on Hwy 20 to Gordon, south on 27 to Ellsworth - turn east on scenic hwy 2 clear across Nebraska to Broken Bow
    (several good motels there)
Day 7 and on into Grand Island. Great Museum of the Prairie there and then on 1-80 straight into Lincoln.
    Return Route:
Day 1 - Lincoln on Hwy 6 to Hastings (try one of the Runza Drive-ins for Kraut Runza - kind of a meat pie with kraut and cabbage.
Stop at Mindon at Harold Warp's Pioneer Village - a museum of museums - fascinating. Allow several hours there.. You can cut up Hwy 10 to i-80 and thru Kearney and overnight in North Platte. This route follows the hostoric Platte River.
Day 2 - At Ogallala follow scenic Hwy 26 to sites famous on the Oregon Trail. See Chimney Rock. If you have an extra day - take the 24 hours on the trail and go by covered wagon and overnite in on the trail in provided tents near Chimney Rock. Overnight in Scottsbluff and take drive up Scottsbluff National Monument
Day 3 - Scottsbluff back into Wyoming - to CAsper. There are several routes home from here :
Day 3 A - from Casper north to Sheridan WY and over night.
Day 4 A - Sheridan into Montana and stop at Custer Battlefield and Little Big Horn . I-90 through Billings to Bozeman & Butte.
Day 5A (If you missed Phillipsburg scenic loup - do it now) You can also visit Virginia and Nevada City. Othervise stay on 1-90 and on through Red Lodge up to Missoula again and over night in Missoula.
Day 6a Missoula south along Hwy 12 and Through Lolo Pass and the beautiful river route to Kooskia, and Orofino into the Nez Perce country, Orofinointo Lewiston ID and cross into Clarkston WA . You can go on into Walla Walla for the night.
Day 7a - Stop at Whitman Mission, Walla Walla to Seattle via Toppenish (see murals) Yakima and Snoqualmie PAss to Seattle.
Route B from Casper cuts across wyoming by Independence Rock on Hwy 220 to 26/287 into JAckson, WY. Lots of motels but try to book ahead. - fun to shop here - touristy. JAckson Hole has fantasic 4th of July fireworks show.
From JAckson - you can spend an extra day here - take a scenic float down the Snake River - drive up into Teton National PArk.
From JAckson - cross into Idaho at either Rexburg or Idaho Falls.
If you have extra time - take the loup into Sun Valley and around to Boise. From Boise into Baker Oregon - See the Oregon Trail museum. Continue into Pendleton (great stop at the Wildhorse Museum) Then cross into Washington and home via Yakima & Snoqualmie Pass
This is a very tight itinerary - if you can - space it out. You will have trouble getting reservations in some of the areas - especially Keystone, W. Yellowstone & Jackson. Don't try for cute. There is so much to see - don't get trapped looking for motels at this late date.enroute. At least book your return from Lincoln before you leave there.

We drove my sling back from MV and on my shift in the middle of bumm f Indiana im cursing around 80ish and I hit a section of the highway that had buckled. The sling must have caught a few inches of air over it and landed somewhat sideways. Scared the living shot out of me!

Just be really careful. I became pretty confident riding in heavy rain over the past two years. That all changed last week when the back end kicked out with out warning at 60 mph when all three wheels floated. Being 90 degrees to the road and about 8 inches from the guard rail changed my mind about riding in the rain.

Yikes, good to hear you just shit your pants and that was it.

I would not pull anything big or heavy but I pulled a small trailer behind my Goldwing for many thousands of miles with no problems. I figure a slingshot with the same trailer should be fine so I tried it down to Maggie valley and back about 1500 miles and had no problems. I plan on pulling the same trailer to the Rockies next month. Like I said if a Goldwing can do it a slingshot with a car engine should be able to.

Thats what I tell people. If you can safety tow it behind a two wheel motorcycle is ok for the slingshot.

The slingshot is not designed to pull anything. However a small/light motorcycle trailer can be pulled safe. Anything else is just a accident waiting to happen. Some have pulled boats big trailers ect.... The slings weighs 1700lbs a 500 load behind you can cause trouble real quick if you ever had to slam on your brakes or you hydroplane. With only one wheel in the back you're gonna spin out fast.

Taking appointment's for turbo/supercharger installs for Slingshots in the Rockies. We only have space to do four kits for this event. Installs will be Wed-Saturday.

Turbo installed Show price is $ 4850.00
Supercharger installed Show price is $ 4900.00
Please give me a call if you would like to setup an appointment .

    Shocks Shocks Shocks!

If you're in the market for shocks these are the best shocks available for a slingshot. Alpha/JRi shocks are the only shocks specifically designed for the slingshot to date. Three years Steve the engineer at JRi flew out and we designed a shock for the slingshot ground up. We rode the stock shocks pushed them and found the weak points We then developed a shock by taking in the account of the weight of the slingshot and how we wanted a shock to perform and ride. Various springs rates and valving was tested until we got the ride and performance we set out for.

Right now we have three basic setup for for the slingshot. Sport, Grand touring, and Performance clickers. The Clickers have a knob to adjust damping with 55 clicks. Compared to other shocks JRi's have the widest range in adjust-ability. That means every click from 1-55 makes and difference. Competitors shocks run out of range after just a few clicks.

The sport and grand touring shocks are set you can not adjust damping( harder or softer). This is where the clickers come to play for those that want the range of adjust-ability to go soft, med, hard or any setting in between. Lets say you go on a long trip and the road is rough turn the clicker to the minus side and soften up the ride. You get to a nice twisty road and you want to carve it. Turn the clicker to + and harden the valving for less body roll.

MSRP on the clickers are $1895.00 Group buy price is $1499 shipped! US and Canada! Standard spring color is gloss red. If you would like a custom colored spring cost is $100 and takes about a week longer.

GB starts today 6-7-17 and ends 6-23-17. Please give me a call or pm/email me if you would like to get in on this sale!

Here is a vid we took last week at Maggie Valley comparing the competitors shocks on a shock dyno.

Thank you all for another great year! MV was epic this year and was too short. We drove straight though and got back at 430am Monday Morning. I got to work at 9am and was pretty much a zombie lol. Went to bed at 8pm last night and I can't remember the last time I crawled into bed when the sun was still up! Hope to see you next month at the rockies!!
