I should be having an eargasm tomorrow... shhh don't tell the wife...

I have the low tinted ripper windshield that came on the 2016 black pearl LE, and I'm 6'4" so I'm eating all the wind... unless I hit my "gangsta lean" to avoid it... I don't mind driving around town, by for any drives that are more than 2 hours, especially at high speeds, I end up with a headache afterwards. Hoping that these plugs help.

I've experimented with the "moldable" ear plus / headphones previously, and I liked it for a while, but still eventually had trouble with them staying in my ears. After you mold them, even though it's customized to fit your ear perfectly, the mold still becomes pretty firm for the most part. So you push them in, they fit perfectly, but they don't "expand" any, so they are just kinda sitting in there, and a small tug of the wire or tilting of the head may make them fall out. Or in my case, when putting a helmet on/off, my ears gets rubbed, and they may come out. (I'm sure this pretty much depends on the shape of your ear, so different people's experience may vary.) So that's why I prefer the plug type, and I think I'm going to try the Eargasms. With the plug, the material is flexible, so once you push them in there, you have something pushing outwards on your ear canal to create more friction to keep them in place. Just my .02

    Badass!

Great work @Storm and anyone else that helped you with it...

Storm you did a fantastic job! Thank you for all your hard work coordinating this!

Thanks folks! It was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Thinking about doing one of these at least every few months. Got some ideas to get some even better footage next time. Thanks for coming out! Oh, BTW @MiM some of us are going to Team Mancuso North tomorrow for the BBQ, meeting at Fry's Electronics at 45 and West Rd around 12:30 pm. Also probably getting with some other slings and doing some late night riding around the club areas as well.

Time to ride! A few last minute notes: We might need a couple people (preferably with lights on their slings) who are familiar with the route to help lead part of the ride, or block / protect others as we try to turn as a group. Let me know if you’re interested. I want your footage and pictures! Email me at storm75m@hotmail.com to send me any good pictures or footage you have. (I won’t tell you what you can and can’t do with your Slingshot, but if you are feeling “frisky”, don’t waste it, make sure a camera is watching!) We will try to stick to the route, but may deviate here and there, either to make up time, see more action, or attempt to keep more slings together by making more right hand turns than left hand turns, etc. We may get stuck in traffic where we have to sit for a while, but we’ll try to make the most of it. This isn’t a high speed scenic ride, but more of a sight seeing tour. Lastly, our final destination Moon Tower Inn has limited parking, but there is a parking strip that we can use right across the street to line up our Slingshots, but it’s first come first serve. If anyone wants to break off from the ride early and meet us there, hold as many parking spaces as you can, the owner said that it shouldn’t be a problem. It is a popular meeting spot for car clubs, but no one else has mentioned anything to them for tonight, so we should be good. See you out there!

Is this still on? What do we think if weather? It's showing rain, but not sure if morning, afternoon, or evening rain...

I think I can make it!

Yep the event is still on! Unless there's major storms going on, there would still probably be a few of us hardcore riders out there anyway. My weather app is showing between 10%-20% chance of rain between 5pm and 11pm. That is usually good enough for me to take the Sling out, and very rarely do I actually hit some rain with those percentages... Hope to see you out there!

I might still have my receipts at home, I'll double check.

Well they got my receipt all messed up. I paid a total of $215. I was told that was for my 5k service, but the receipt shows that I was charged for some brake sensors or something. They must've just rang it up wrong. Danna was there at the same time, maybe they were distracted by her awesomeness. ;) I would say that Kevin (and another service tech who's name I didn't catch) was great to work with and knew their stuff, which was better than my experience at Houston Motorsports.

Not sure how you want to handle this, but these dealerships have to know that we talk to each other and share information. I feel like I can trust these guys to do what is right. Maybe you were over-charged, maybe I was under-charged... But I remember I was expecting to pay either $200 or $250, just because that was what I was quoted at the other place, and I thought they would be somewhat consistent. If in the long run it turns out that Mancuso is $100 more than the other place, well, that may just make my decisions a little more difficult... given that the other place is actually closer to me, and... well.... see my "cheap-ass" comment above.

(below are a couple of screenshots from my receipt, which had a few more warranty things on it as well.)

Well, aside from the Vaseline required service charge, they were pretty nice... @DKF Texas, do you get service there too? Did they just up charge me?

    What about you @Storm?

Well, I don't think I paid over $300, I'm thinking more around $250 in total, same place. Houston Motorsports on 1960 said that they would alternate the service price between $200 and $250 (this was when I first bought it, January 2016). I might still have my receipts at home, I'll double check. My plan was to do the first couple of services at the dealer, mainly just to check for any major issues, then I would probably only do the dealership service every other interval, and change the oil myself on the other interval. Should save some money that way, but still give me the peace of mind that I need with an "expert" looking things over every 10k miles or so. And being the cheap-ass that I am, I'll probably stretch that 5k mile service to 6k or 7k.

I just registered, woohoo! My first major event. I'm only going to be there for Friday and Saturday though. Driving up sometime on Friday, leaving late Saturday night. If I could crash in someone's room for Friday night for $60 bucks, it would be much appreciated! I'm easy, low maintenance, give me a floor and a pillow and I'm good actually. Ok and maybe a shower sometime. :) Can't wait!

Super Bowl Weekend “Rev Em Up, Light Em Up” Slingshot Night Cruise Through Houston – Saturday February 4th 2017 @ 5:00 pm, Starting at Pappadeaux 10499 I-10 Houston TX 77024. Houston will be buzzing with activity during the Super Bowl weekend, so let’s buzz along with it! Ride will include multiple meetup locations through the evening to allow riders to catch up, and new riders to join. See route details below. Night will also feature small raffle prizes from our ride sponsors DDM Works, Revolution Motorsports, and House of Sound!

A photographer and a drone camera operator will be capturing our memories at various locations along our ride. Smile and wave for the cameras! We will stop for about 15-20 minutes at each of the Meetup Locations (marked in green on the map, addresses and directions below).

Given the extra activity in the city during the weekend, we may experience road closures, extra traffic delays, and other unexpected circumstances. It will be difficult to keep a large group together in the inner city, therefore we will be “cruising” at a slightly slower speed than normal traffic, in order to keep as much of us together as possible. We will do the best we can, and make the most out of it. Be responsible, be safe.

Our ride will end at Moon Tower Inn, a place known for some of the best hot dogs and burgers in the city. Hope to see you out there!

Good to see you here @Storm! Hope you stick around and post often...

If family and everything else permits, I'd like to join...

Thanks, I lurk around here a little, but still spend more time on the other side.... for now.... mainly out of just being lazy I guess! I'll try to start checking in more often! I'm so excited about this event, I spent way too much time today studying Google Maps to plan out meeting locations and routes. Gonna be fun, hope the weather holds up!

Hey folks, we're organizing a Slingshot ride for Saturday February 4th
starting at 5pm. The city of Houston will be buzzing with all kinds of
activity that weekend, so we'll be buzzing right back with a parade of
Slingshots as we cruise through some of the popular night locales around
the city. We'll even have a few sponsors / vendors who will raffle off
a few prizes, including DDM Works, Revolution Motorsports, and House of
    Sound.

We will have about 4 designated meeting locations throughout the night,
allowing people to catch up and new riders to join in. We'll have a
planned recommended route, however we may have to improvise during the
night as there may be unexpected detours, traffic delays, and road
closures. But it's all part of the fun! We'll be watching the city,
and the city will be watching us, as we give everyone a taste of the
    Slingshot Life.
