And one may want to keep in mind where I believe that manufacturers are recommending overhauling the adjustable shocks every two years at the rate of approximately $200 per shock?

Our State Farm insurance has remained the same since 2015 at $339 here in Oregon
Bill
Well, ours may not be "bone stock", but it is pretty close!
Muffler and exhaust manifold heat shields, (2015's came without them and they do help significantly)
Madstad windscreen, (original windshield did buffet quite a bit)
MeanSling hood assist, (Good purchase)
Original Paramount Plastics rear fender, (It does help "finish" the back, which is nice, but what we installed it for was to keep the black plastic of the rear cleaner, unfortunately it does nothing for that, but it did help "finish" the back!)
Presently there is nothing more on the wish list.
Bill
If the exhaust manifold and muffler heat shields count, (they were not installed on the 2015s), then 6, in other words, our SlingShot has been off-the-showroom fun for three years!

I have run both of the Comp-2 tires the one I am fixing to replace now is the SUMMER. "IMHO" I do not advise anyone to buy. It actually has less dry traction than the stock Kenda does. Also with no spinning I got around 10,000 miles on each on the rear.
That is interesting that you say this where there is a lil step in the driveway in which we have to climb over to get the SlingShot into the garage. There is a black patch right there where when backing in when the front tires catch that step and the rear Kenda would spin, sometimes necessitating my pulling forward and taking a lil run at that step, where the G-Force Comp 2 haven't had any trouble? Traction seems to be noticeably improved when on the road also, especially when comparing to the Kendas when it is cold and wet.
Bill
In addition I am specifically interested in how you have carried long guns in the Sling.
In a hard case strapped to the roll hoops...................
Bill
yes, if passed as now written and not changed in committee, where the bill is now, it would have no effect on our slingshots, but I personally don't feel comfortable trusting that it will not get amended to include all 3 wheel motorcycles. The entire point of this bill seems to be changing the current classification so that they can increase the safety requirements and regulations which I personally do not want
Agreed! From it's introduction folks have been trying to change the SlingShot from it's original concept as a motorcycle, into a car, all just so they are no longer required to wear a helmet? Isn't this like cutting off one's nose to spite the face? Unfortunately, I do not believe that these folks will stop until this is accomplished and we will loose all the freedoms being classified as a motorcycle has provided us..............
Bill
It is mid-February, one month, or less, to go to do a test drive!
Bill
Once again it just shows how advanced our SlingShots are!
Bill
So, A/C + wipers + heat + a sock puppet. Or, a look OVER windshield.
Since our SlingShot is indubitably an alternative motorcycle, this concept makes the most sense to us!
Common sense?
Bill
I believe so but I think only at connection points, not all along the subframe. Mine is showing bumps in the deck just inside the tail lights that I plan to have my dealer look at. I tried to capture it in this pic but it's hard to see - just to the left of the tail light hump. Has anyone else had this issue?
Yep, ours has the same detent/bump, as with others that we have seen on the showroom floor, obviously it is how that part has been molded.
Bill
Oh yea, cruising along enjoying the scenery, dip down into a valley or other low area and wala, instant white-out! Yep, been there and done that!
Bill
I thought that I would just share this lil tid bit of info showing one reason why we do not utilize a tall windscreen on our SlingShot. On the way to work a few days ago I pulled over to get a picture of what our windscreen looks like on a typical winter morning commute. Ten minutes earlier that was frost rather than just water, but either way looking through the windscreen would not be the safest way to ride.
Oh, just another lil interesting tid bit on this particular highway: Highway 199 on list of most dangerous highways in the country - KOBI-TV NBC5 / KOTI-TV NBC2
Bill
Justina and I have no problem what-so-ever listening to the radio or conversing with each other with our Sena intercom installed in our helmets? Plus, we're being considerate to those around us by not blasting them out....................
Bill
P.S. I notice not one of you even suggested a way to get her to do the work!
Justina takes the Grasshopper out about as often as I do so that just goes without saying?
Bill
Simple ol Lemon Pledge does a nice job of keeping the black black and shiny. It also works well on everything else, including the wind screen.
Bill
We'll be riding!!!!
