If one were to do a bit of research of vehicular batteries, they would find that most are manufactured by a very limited number of major manufacturers, check out Johnson Controls for one.

My base 19 had the heat shield over the exhaust manifold and another over the muffler. Plus heat shielding is on the firewall and inside fender.
wjfyfe not sure where you are at, but if you want my old heat shield (has less than 1k miles on it), you are welcome to it. If you are coming to Kerrville, I can bring it. Would trade for a beer or two
The 2015 SlingShot came without any heat shielding, since Polaris has corrected the problem and we have installed both.
Thanks for the offer and if we ever get to Texas we'll look ya up! Of course, the same invitation goes to you if you ever get up here into Oregon territory!

It bugs me when I want to look up info on a specific item and the site insists I use a roundabout method of finding the part. What can be more specific than entering item-specific details?
When checking locally to purchase the GM OEM exhaust manifold heat shield, I called the local Chevy dealer and stated that I was looking for part number 12633413, the person at the parts department insisted that he could not get me the part without the VIN number of the GM vehicle the part was for.

Lotta over thinking going on with something as simple as a battery.......
The stock 2015 battery in our SlingShot is still going strong after being installed now over four years, any bets that it will make it at least to five.....................
..............just thinking out loud............
Bill
FWIW, when less than a year old our 2015 SlingShot would quit, (run out of gas?), still showing bars on the gauge, and then only taking seven gallons or so to fill-up. The dealer said that they could not find anything wrong, but at the same time we had the ECU programming updated and it has never happened again.
Coincidence?
Bill
Right, and from Red's pic, it looks like it's almost too tall. Granted, it will fit, but you don't have much room there to work in. A Group 25 or 24 may be my only choice, but I'm looking for the perfect AGM battery that won't break the budget.
Just a starting point, you can further refine your search from here...............

I said the same thing until I put the top on. I have never taken it off since it was installed.
When we purchased the SportTop I had every intention of only installing it for special circumstances, mostly leaving it in the garage at home. Justina informed me yesterday that she she has grown so spooked about road debris clobbering her that the top will be definitely installed when riding on the highway and maybe, only maybe, the only time it will be coming off is possibly when we are slowly cruising the back roads at no more than maybe 30 MPH or so.

What exactly was the air flow kit supposed to do and where did it mount and why would they include a small battery when the engine is up front?

Is you hood latched correctly? Looking at the gap in the plastic pieces to the left and the right of the headlights in both photos.
He has his front bumper installed low for some reason, (it can be very simply adjusted to look like the 2019, eliminating those gaps.) Otherwise, to answer the original question about the headlights, I believe that you will find that all 2015 SlingShots to have this headlight installation?
Not an issue!

When Polaris offered the engine airflow management kits back in the early days,
Model Year 2015 Engine Airflow Management Kit - Part number 2206369
Model Year 2016 Engine Airflow Management Kit - Part number 2206370
(A search of these part numbers seem to portray that neither are currently available from Polaris?)
The kit for the 2015 supplied a new smaller battery, what did Polaris do to mount that smaller battery to the existing battery mounting plate?
Wait a minute, by golly here seems to be a kit that is still available on ebay?
https://www.amazon.com/GENUINE…automotive&sr=1-1-catcorr
If that is an original kit, that battery must be going on four years old now?
And here appears to be a Model Year 2016 Engine Airflow Management Kit - Part number 2206370: https://www.amazon.com/Polaris…automotive&sr=1-1-catcorr
Bill
Bigdog, if you will check the part number for the 2015 battery, and then check the part number for the 2016, and subsequent, battery, I believe you can answer your own question?
Bill
There appears to be quite a number of Batteries Plus stores around Texas, maybe there is one near you?

OK, to start out I am obviously a real cheapskate when it comes to shocks, I'll admit that up front. I am comparing the McPherson struts of heavier automobiles to the coilovers found on the SlingShot, and maybe that is inappropriate? Also, I do not find the stock ride of the SlingShot to be tot tally offensive, so that is also affecting my decision?
We recently replaced the front struts on our VW Jetta. By appearance the struts are much heavier duty on the VW than the coilovers on the SlingShot? We paid less that $400 to replace those struts, including labor, and they will more than likely last us at least a decade or more. I admit that maybe I am missing something, but in comparison, to pay in the ball park of that much money per individual shock for the SlingShot, and still having to install them, and possibly having to remove them every couple of years to get overhauled at over $100 + shipping each, that is just too pricey to justify in our book?
What am I missing here?
Bill
This is just my experience, when a manufacturer shows a "test" comparing their product being superior to a competitor, I usually find that deeper research probably is required to get to the complete "truth", (The first thing I noted on this video that makes me a bit suspicious is the name on the testing apparatus??)
Bill
I’ll never buy another optima battery for any vehicle....they are over priced and don’t last any longer than lead acid batteries.....
Considering that the stock non-maintenance free battery has been doing it's job quite dependably now for four years, I certainly see no reason to purchase, nor pay the extra, for any "specialty" battery?
Bill
For what it is worth, It was about time to service our battery in our 2015 so here is a picture of the mounting platform.
The stock Polaris battery doesn't seem to fit with any of the dimensions of other "typical" batteries, though I have it in my notes that a group
26 or 34 battery will fit nicely enuff. I am suspecting after four years that our stock battery has seen most of it's useful life at which time will be replaced with a maintenance free battery.
Sure would be nice if an alternative location could be used, or a weatherproof enclosure added, the present location sure catches a lot of water and road debris.
Bill
I dont know if they are any good, but at $612 these are by far the least expensive coil overs for the Slingshot I have seen
Thanks, I, for one, will be awaiting a review?
Bill
My thoughts were to purchase the parts for a 2015 SlingShot, but looking back at a previous picture reminded me that the mount is designed to be welded to the frame, sorry!
Bill
The 2015 came out with a standard automotive battery mounted?
