When I had the ZZP rear exhaust I used this exhaust wrap from Amazon - never had issues with battery getting hot - https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01KVYH66U

Since putting in the 4 point harnesses it's kind of a joke between wife and I who's going to unbuckle and get the garage remote outta the glove box when we get back to the house. Saw this Homelink opener is now clearance on Polaris site - going to try it. Anyone have it?

This looks like the same steering wheel lock, but not sure on actual size.... Need to get my mechanic friend over for some beer and see what he can think/fab up!
-
Ok, so got part 1 of 3 apparently that I need today.... Need to track down a wheel lock or make one (think a club will work? lol) and it looks like I do need the rear alignment bar that'll hold the mirrors from the kit I did get today so laser reflects back towards front. I need more pieces though....

I feel your pain man! I complained to folks how much of a PITA getting that yellow top in there was and they looked at me like I'm crazy. I also have the front posts in use so have to really be careful with that mount to make sure it's in middle and spaced between the two front posts as well. Good battery though and a good AGM charger will top it off more than the sling alternator will too!

DAMN!! Ya learn something new every day - I had no idea you guys had mud bugs in CO. Those are something I truly miss from coonass land
Here ya go Bill - got a few CO bugs today! Thank You Tripod for reminding me which thread we talked about this in! We do a get together out here in CO with the slings around this time of year sometime and I'll bring the bugs!
-
Posting this one here as I can't find that thread we were talking about CO having crawfish and some of you probably thought that was crazy! Family and I had a fun morning though despite the weather picking up a bit!

We will be attending Slingfest in Las Vegas in October as a vendor. Come down and get your alignment done then.

We looked at that one... doing Galveston in September though and not sure about back to back events and work schedules. October is getting into hunting season too

Don't forget that the 2008 Spyder engine is only 996cc's! I don't remember when they went to 1300.
Yeah I think 900 is enough for her... that's why I was leaning towards manual to use it better and she thinks a manual would work for her. Looked at some 600 rykers but those deadwood guys said if you like your wife get her a spyder over the ryker. I'm letting it chill now and will see how many marketplace ads she sends me. Deal hunter so in no big hurry the more I think about it!

I have the Polaris system but have not used it yet
Nice, will share what I learn in this thread. I understand there is a rod for putting alignment targets off rear tire - do you know if that was part of kit or separate part? Guess I should jus wait and see what shows up... but dang it's weird I can't find anything online about this thing...

I've seen the same negative statements made above about the Spyder made about the Slingshot, too. Your Wife should buy whichever model and/or color she likes. From a price/mileage viewpoint, the automatic is probably a slightly better deal, but if a manual transmission is important, then that's the one to go with. When I rode 2 wheels, I averaged15K miles/year with both of my bikes, so what some people consider high miles, I don't.
I feel the same way with the miles piece... had some high mileage bikes that ran good with good maintenance. There is also the matter of fitting in garage vs gravel pole barn...my sling isn't going out there... a bike could fit next to it if I move some unused shelving... Going to give it some time and see if it's a fad or if she pushes me and maybe towards end of season better deal can be had on either!

I tried searching and most of what i saw was threads on folks talking about having it done or the old 2x4 process. I'm looking for someone who might be familiar with this Bosch system that apparently some dealers use. Called the local dealer and they don't do laser alignments on slings, said they follow factory process so assuming that means 2x4 method... Got number for CO guy who was doing these and he got back to me that he moved to CA and was also using the "True Track" system. I really don't want to wait until maggie valley next year (wife 90% sold on going) so started looking for a system.
I have one of these dealer Bosch systems on the way to me - anyone know how to use it? Seller said it's new in box never used so hoping it has some instructions...but I'd rather talk to someone who's used it or seen it used and the process. I hear it differs from TrueTrack in the sense the tires stay on - thoughts or comments greatly appreciated - Thank You all!

Yup, that's my issue around 14' of ramps and three of them was like $1700 bucks I think it was, then storing them with the sling and the weight of them.... easier to see why buying a separate trailer won out!
-
Let me know when you find one with a 13' garage that will fit the SS. I've been looking but haven't found one yet. Most of them are about 10' garages.
I have a 2019 Vortex 2715v - that has a 15ft garage in it. I know the sling will fit, just a matter of getting it in there. I priced out race ramps and I was 70% towards the cost of a sling specific trailer so went that route. One of our sling friends has a toy hauler as well and hoping to split the cost of those ramps with him one day!

It's for the wife... told her I'd buy another slingshot, but she's pretty set on a bike for when our Son wants to go...
-
I know it's not a slingshot, but a lot of you like me had bikes before and or experience with can-am in general. Thoughts on a 2008 spyder with 68k on it? Wife sent me this add as we've been looking at them since coming home from Deadwood. Gotta admit I like the colors on this one, the fact it's a manual, and has the mods we'd put on it is appealing. Just not sure what kinda life you can expect out of these bikes and it's got 68k, dang! (know it depends on how it was maintained along the way as well)....
Would you consider it or just go newer? I understand they don't make the manuals anymore and I kinda want a manual vs the cvt automatic drive train...
