Display MoreI had already been scheduled to ride with our "Geriatric Hogs" group. We headed out on the other end of Arkansas. We made it over to Hot Springs Friday night. We were going to ride HWY 7 north to Harrison then I had them talked into riding over to Eureka Springs and was gonna introduce them to the Slingshot family. We were about 20 miles south of Harrison and the lead rider saw a southbound stranded motorcycle and turned around to see if we could help. After that it went to hell as one of our riders ran into another that had stopped. Now we have two more broken bikes, two riders that were bummed up and no cell phone signal. I tended to the wounded, sent a rider south and one north to find cell service and to call a roll back wrecker from down in Russellville, AR. Two hours later we had a truck, got in touch with a friend to bring a trailer and then we headed home on Sunday.

Just to clarify...it was me who almost had skateboard hood ornament, you guys taught how to drive the SS proper in the powerband, I've been dogging it.

That's it, rub it in!! I know what I missed as we had a blast there last year. Had to cancel due to situations out of our control, but we'll be there next year come hell or high water (hurricanes excluded)
Going to hold you to that next year!
I think these roads are ever bit as good as MV rides, and ALLEN puts on the best events!

There was a fast group of 10 heading up a very steep hillside, led by @Slingrazor (by the way he did an outstanding job leading all week) when all of a sudden two teens came flying downward on skateboards with a sharp curve. The second teen lost control and headed into the oncoming lane, if not for the quick handling and braking by @USAMONKEYMAN I believe there would be a fatality and he didn't even stop to wipe!

Made it safe getting here. One thing here is you have two drive through the twisties just to get here. The host hotel is nice and spacious. The vendors have a nice area and they have just about any item your looking for. We are leaving at 8:30 for a nice ride led by slingrazor since the wife doesn’t like the faster rides

If your not proud of our flag and our country then take your ass to Iran and live for a month. Maybe then you will find some appreciation. Go read all you can about the civil wars and understand what our country was battling and how and why the words for the declaration came about. We didn’t become the most powerful country in such a short time span by accident.

Home from hospital today - all is good - just a little take it easy time before Eureka Springs - if it would be possible for me to take it any easier

Traffic of Floridians coming back on I 75 and I 95 has been brutal. Safe travels!
OMG. That's an understatement. It took me 14 hrs to get back from Atlanta. I normally do it in 8hrs. That was Monday from 5pm till 7am Tuesday. I thought I would beat the traffic especially at night. It was bumper to bumper several times and u can forget about using an exit. No power most of way down and everyone had gas cans strapped to their cars. Lucky I have diesel RAM gets 28mpg. I can do it in one tank but I did take extra to be sure. The rest areas didn't have power either. Glad to get home and went to bed.
