Can anybody help me find some mesh like in our SS’s grills. Ideally plastic, but aluminum would be ok. I need two pieces each about 12”x 16”.

I have trailered my SS between Nova Scotia and Florida for each of the past two winters. I use wheel type straps for both front tires. At the rear I fabricated a strap which holds the wheel in place. As others have said, at every stop a walk around check is a good idea. I choose to leave the transmission in neutral with the parking brake engaged. It being a Canadian SS, I also activate the anti theft ignition system. Wheel straps are from Harbor Freight. I installed additional D ring anchor points on my trailer to provide ideally suited locations for the straps. The Polaris factory trailering cover fits great and no chafing. However the Twist roof structure needs to come off (a 5 minute job) and gets stashed in the SS. The cover needed a couple of slots cut in it (which I had reinforced at a local upholstery shop) at the front to allow good placement of the forward wheel strap anchor clips.

Further to a post I made last night about trying to sign up for Club Slingshot. As noted, I sent a note to Polaris commenting on the difficulty in registering. This morning I received a phone call from a Polaris rep who discussed the matter with me, got me registered and accepted my suggestion to make registration easier for international folks. So kudos to Polaris!!!

I do not disagree that a teenager could market to existing owners better but it appears that their focus is on new sales - although the trend with their social media in the last 2 months has really started to pick up on showing of existing owner groups and the enjoyment they experience.
I hope Polaris Europe won't let you down but I believe you are doing better in every aspect of the Slingshot then they have been doing (at least from what I can guess from your shared experience and sales counts)
A common adage in business is “your best customer is an existing one”. I wonder if the Polaris execs have ever heard about it??

It looks like we non-Americans may be getting left out in the cold.
I thought that Polaris were a forward thinking, "worldwide" company, compeating in most of the world markets.
As our world, rapidly, shrinks and we can all talk, work, play together and trade, so much more simply, than just a few years ago, I think that most people would realize that 2018 is not the time to retreat from these global markets.
I am now starting to suspect that the Club SlingShot setup may not have taken the above into account. I hope this is not the case. Only time will tell.
For what it might be worth, this evening I sent a note to the Polaris folks to point out the situation. I am hoping it is an unintentional oversight. A few days ago I posted on this forum my skepticism about the value of Club Slingshot. And in spite of that thought, I tried to sign up anyway. Lesson learned!!!
Edit: An update. A Polaris rep very promptly called the next morning and readily resolved the issue. Kudos to Polaris!!

Well I just tried to sign up for Club Slingshot. Full disclosure here - I am Canadian. Bought my SS from a dealer in Canada. But it seems we are not welcome in the Club. Canadian postal codes are not accepted in the sign up page. Now, it could be that I missed something - maybe there is a Canadian Club Slingshot site I should have linked to, but I didn’t see it if it exists.
So I may have to fool the membership folks. I might just use my Fl address.Edit: An update. A Polaris rep called the next morning and readily resolved the issue. Kudos to Polaris!!

No issues with sun fade?
Not yet. It was in the Florida sun from Dec til last week, so it got a bit of a fade test!!
-
Did you put any clear coat on the hood vent or is that just straight from the can?
From the can.

While I have not yet used carbon fibre sheets, I understand it can be used similarly to fibreglass. Is that so?? I might just make a mold and build a pair of fillers that way.
-
-
Geez. My DIY fillers cost $18! I’m feeling pretty good about that!!! But then they are made out of a banged up aluminum highway “Wrong Way” sign a snowplow clipped and left in a ditch. New $425 fibreglass fillers cannot touch that provenance!!!

@lowlander how do you like driving at night without the two middle lights? And if I may ask, what lights did you put on front? Looks good on front end . I think I would accent frame of screen in red and gray for screen. It still looks good just my 2$
JUST SAYINAre you going to MV? If so hope to meet you there.
No to MV. It is a long way from Nova Scotia, and I just got here (home) from wintering in Florida. Trailered my SS to and from Fl. My SS is Canadian. So it came with only the two outer lights. I have never driven with the center lights. However, behind my grill is a LED bar (16” as I recall) I installed when I picked up the SS from my dealer. The eyebrow lights above the headlights are LED cool white strips (about $18 for a 16’ roll on Amazon). They are switched along with red tail light LED strips at the rear and amber LEDs on each mirror. Below the headlghts are amber LED strips that supplement the directional lights. Similar amber strips are at the rear along side the red tail light strips.

But it is a sale!! Seriously though - commercial product develoment takes $$ and time. I have little of the first, and plenty of the latter!!
-
I like the grills @lowlander but I really think you need some kind of screen around that toilet.
It is on its way to the landfill!! And thanks to being a snowbird, the snowblower further in the background has not been used in several years!!
-
I do and I would appreciate the plans.
Actually all I have is shown in the pics at the start of this thread. First thing to do is make a template by holding cardboard (or similarly rigid and easily cut material) in place on the SS and trace an outline and cut it until it fits perfectly. Then transfer the pattern to the aluminum. I left a 3/4” perimeter and center strip. Let me know if I can assist further with other pics.
-
Looks good, you could make some money if you wanted, I'd buy a set.
Thanks for the compliment. If you enjoy DIY, I can send you the “plans”. And EjFord - I painted the grill. Looks better with it being red.
-
Took out the grill last night and painted it red. Will reinstall this morning. Will post pics then. MiM - the side inserts are so easy to make. Give it a try!!
-
At our cottage in Northport, Nova Scotia today. Was out today getting the place ready for the summer.
-
Might just try EJ’s idea. The perimeter can easily be masked off and left red and allow the field to be sprayed in gray. Thanks for the suggestion.

Fini!!! Still undecided about the colour though. It is easily changed, so it won’t be an issue.
