I installed some courtesy lights yesterday (one day I post some pics) on mine. They are projection lights that I was going ot install on my Valkyrie in the saddle bags, but I happened upon a post here. They are actually mounted in the mirrors, and if I dont mind saying, look really good in the dark

    Valkyrie????? 1st and best generation????

Mine was the 1997 black & yellow, the fastest color! Just sold it last week! Miss it badly!

I make my own hot sauce too from a blend of peppers I grow.

If Maggie Valley isn’t cancelled, I’ll bring some....

Had about enough of the social distancing for this year, so my wife and I went for a bike ride (Gold Wing) to see what trouble we could get into.

So, at our breakfast stop, we bumped into a few other couples on bikes and we all went riding. At lunch we bumped into more people enjoying their bikes and the weather so we ended up riding with 12 bikes for the rest of the day.

We exchanged contact info and we are all planning to get together next weekend for an Anti-Covid BBQ & beer party.
Now, if you are in a high risk age/medical category, certainly you should decide if you should do this.

But, all the people we met today all agreed that this strongly suggested social distancing is BS and we are not willing to spend our lives in hiding!

    So, next weekend, WE PARTY!!!!

My freezer is always full of venison that I harvest, fish that I catch and sale items like roasts, whole chickens and racks of ribs.

Our pantry has plenty of canned goods and our garage shelves are well stocked with the items we picked from our garden and canned/preserved.

So far, I havent had to go to a store and participate in the hysteria.

Just plain common sense, wise shopping, a frugal lifestyle and having plenty of beer will get you through this over blown situation.
Hopefully the Conspiracy nuts and preppers stocked on on their meds and not just ammo....

I got a new smoker for Christmas and havent used it yet. Hmm, tomorrow I will fire it up and do some venison and some pork ribs!

    @Funcycle...Thanks for the inspiration!

I don't really care about staying completely dry... I really don't care if I get wet.... Just trying to stay more dry than I would on my bike. I still expect to wear a rainsuit. There is no way in hell that I want any kind of full enclosure. But if the roof would break up the down pour a little, then that is what I need.

Well, we really didn't lose ALL those 1.5 million jobs.... Some of those people went back to school and got degrees and went to work elsewhere. Some went to work at Walmart, some to McDonalds….. Some inevitably stayed unemployed. NAFTA was a lousy deal for the U.S. though for sure.

My wife has it for her SS. She only wants a top for shade in the summer. Not waterproof. I have the sport top. I only use it in the summer also. Sitting in traffic and 95 degrees is not pleasant. We have rain suits for wet, or potentially wet, days that we ride.

When you say it is not waterproof, is this roof a mesh material or is it a solid material that just isn't waterproof???

I wear a 3/4 helmet with a fill down face shield for times when it's --- along with frog togs …

Yeah, well I avoid helmet use at all costs where I can. Only if mandated do I wear a helmet. Goggles, rainsuit and no helmet works great in the rain. Not starting a helmet debate here. Do what you all feel best about doing. I'm just looking for roof info...

then you better think about changing the exhaust system....lots of passenger floor cabin heat

My 19 SLR is well insulated. I took care of the floor and firewall so heat shouldn't be as much of an issue as some have had...

Lot of good info here to sort through. I know we will only deploy the top when it is raining since we both love to be in the sun. Right now we are leaning towards the Stowaway Soft Top. I'd really like to hear from someone that has that top and see if they are happy with it.

If you are buying a top for rainy days --- DON'T.

Why not? It should keep driving rain off, no???? I wear a good rain suit, but was hoping the roof would "help" to break up the rain some.
