We did the same thing. Started with motorcycles and scooters in 1966. Last bike was a Goldwing Lehman trike. We have a 2819 SL. Good group here. Helpful. And a few crazies scattered in, but, remember, blessed are the cracked, for they let in the light

To surprise me and his mother, our son rode his 2006 Honda Shadow 750 from Florida to Iowa this past Tuesday and Wednesday. My sister called about 6pm Wednesday, "Why don't you guys come over for awhile?" In her house for a couple of minutes when the BRAT steps out from behind a door and say's "So you rode your Slingshot 200 miles today. Hell, I did that on my bike before breakfast this morning"

    Yes, we were SURPRISED!!!

So, I took him for 100mph ride yesterday. Gotta impress these KIDS somehow!!

He left this morning about 6:30 am. Headed back to Titusville.

DAMN!!! Hard to watch him head down the road. !400 miles for us worry about. ?( No matter how old they are, it's what parents do.

We took him to the Anamosa Motorcycle Museum Sunday. We were like a couple of kids in a candy store.

Cute little buggers, and they are LOUD. If I'm wearing anything with a pocket, it's with me (in a NAA black fabric holster with the 10 round pocket) constantly. Church, bank, court house, gas station.

I've been asked why I carry a "harmless" gun. I ask "Where do you want me to put that "harmless" shot?" So far, no volunteers.

After reading this thread you basically have two options. 1: Pull the motor and ship it at your cost. They will determine what is wrong and fix it, then ship it back. 2: Cut your losses and go to another shop.

There is another option. Leave it alone to begin with.

If you want 0 to 60 in under 2 seconds, get a Tesla. You cannot turn a Ford Pinto into a Mustang GT500. If you try, be prepared.

There is an old saying from the 1970's, "Speed costs money, how fast can you afford to go."

When I had a Honda NT700, I bought 50 (or 100 . . . I forget which) of the orange ear plugs on eBay. The little Honda was a great bike, but had a NOISY engine.

The corollary to "Ignorance is bliss", is "What you don't hear doesn't bother you."

On the rare occasion that I go without a helmet (a quick dash to the gas station before a ride) I would hear a tinny rattle up front. Drove me nuts!

I think I finally tracked it down. GREMLINS!! Actually, gremlin bells. I have two of them (if one is good, well . . . . ) hanging off the front suspension on wires.

I don't know if they scare off gremlins, but they bug the hell out of me!

I can teach you how to NOT be a coonass but we will have to learn the whole hillbilly thing together - IMMA COMING SOMEWHERE UP THERE WHERE THEY HAVE TO GOOGLE HURRICANES TO FIND OUT WHAT THE HELL THEY ARE:00008172:

That's why we are back in Iowa. But, when there is one in the news, you will still get that knot in your stomach, and you get find a tear in the corner of your eye, knowing what those people are going thru. We still have a son, his ex-wife, and three grand-daughters in Central Florida. Fifteen years in Iowa, and the anxiety is still there.

When you go to the dealer, LIE THRU YOUR TEETH!!!! If you mention "other guy", "race" or "hurried shift", you're done.

Tell them you were giving a little old lady a ride to church (or bingo).

Your well seasoned also - been thru Rita & Ike and this one looks to be as bad or worse. Been 15 years since the last one - I guess if your gonna live on the Gulf your turn will happen. Sad thing here is being it’s been 15 years I’m hearing about hurricane parties going to happen here. These younger ones once again don’t know shit about how destructive and deadly they can be. I was just a baby when Audrey slipped in in the middle of the night in 1957 with no warning killing over 400 folks. Then went with my Dad in 1969 to Gulfport shortly after Camille to see the total devastation. So in short my folks drilled into me since youth to get the hell out. I hope these dumbasses here wanting to throw parties learn that the hard way!! I’ll always remember my Dad telling me about a big hurricane party east of New Orleans - none of them have ever been seen or heard from again!!

    See . . . . there IS a cure for stupid.

Do you truly believe the crap you post? I thought you were just a troll with a warped sense of humor. Now, you are blaming the imaginary deep state for dueling hurricanes. That is a far stretch, even for you. It does make you unique. You are (I hope!!!) the only human on the planet to believe that.

We live in unprecedented times when even our pets aren't safe from politics...

They can have my guns if they want to come and get them. By God, our dog is member of our family! I have scars on my right hand from reaching into the fray when she was attacked. DO NOT COME AFTER MY DOG!!

Those of us that love our critters can almost feel the pain that this idiot has brought to the owners. Actually, we don't own them. They own us.
