I inherited an old golf cart, a club car and I don't know much about it. I have two chargers, the first one shows an error on it, but was told that it was probably bad. The second one looked fine and after 24 hours, the ammeter showed 15 or so. This is a 48v cart I think, seem to recall being told that years ago.

Turned on key and got a faint hum when I pressed on the pedal and the ammeter slowly faded out, as if it had a very slight charge.

Oh, did I forget to mention that I know nothing at all about these? :)

I'm guessing my next step should be to unplug the batteries and test each one with a voltmeter. I think the batteries are 4 or 5 years old, but it has sit for at least a year, if not more.

My goal is to get it running, use it here in the yard because I'm a lazy ass, and to let the grandkids drive around.

Any thoughts or help would be greatly appreciated.

Our closest dealer is 24 miles, but the dealer where I bought my slingshot is 49 miles - - The service department at my dealer is certified at the gold so I have driven the extra distance in the past. The closed dealer is only certified bronze, but for this recall I might go there

How do you tell the dealer certification level? My local Polaris dealer didn't have any slingshots (even though the Polaris dealer locator says they have that brand) , so I drove 90 minutes. There is one 75 minutes away, but they didn't have any base models when I stopped by.

Yeah, that aftermarket radiator probably had some trash in it blocking flow or would move around. Sounds like you fixed the issue with the replacement.

My end goal would be something like the Autometer Dashlink https://www.autometer.com/dash…es-apple-ios-android.html but it uses the OBDII port to gain this info.

Alternatively, I could go with traditional gauges and may if I can't find something to fit what I'm looking for. I'm a geek/nerd and would rather have something I can adjust the display with, set alarms, logging, etc. The Haltech is an option, and I considered it until I read that you lose cruise control, and there are just times when I want the cruise, plus the SO will want the cruise when she's driving.

With the https://obd2allinone.com/mefi6scan.asp setup, the data is obviously there, but I don't want to use a laptop or even build a setup with display in our little cockpit, just not enough room.

Has anyone delved into this realm any or know of anyone working on it? I have a new 2019 and I'm still scratching the Mod itch... :)

OK! The battery is out. It is the same problem that I warned everyone about that are running the Welter Duals with the Group 34 Optima battery. The exhaust pipe melted the bottom corner of the battery all the way into the cell material.

Sounds like the Welters need a bit of heat shielding in that area.

I haven't even contemplated a new exhaust on mine, leave that for another year, I have higher priorities right now with mods.

I must admit that I worry a bit about so many vendors being consolidated under one umbrella

On one hand, that is a valid concern, but with so many options for after market products, I feel we are ok for now, as long as one big company doesn't come along and buy them all up.

It makes a lot of business sense for several smaller groups to work together and share resources, if it means buying up and absorbing other products versus competing against them, I think it's better for the consumer, should hopefully mean better quality in the long run and hopefully better pricing.

Competition is good though, as long as we still have that, we are better off (as consumers).

Welcome, what part of NE Texas? I live in SW Arkansas, maybe once the weather clears we can get a ride together.

I'm North of Paris up near the Red River. Arkansas is just an hour away, so that's a good possibility. You have a lot of nice roads to ride :)

I'll try to make the rally, weekends work better for me (the whole work thing), and that's Easter weekend, so not good if I want to see my grandkids, but, will see what shakes out :)

    Thanks!

Howdy from NE Texas, been riding bikes for years and just purchased a 2019 base model, plus ordered a bunch of mods. Yeah, Christmas presents to myself :)

I'm 45 and work in IT, mostly from home, love being rural and having lots of back roads and not much traffic.

Love the community and have already learned so much from reading the other posts and searching for answers. Thanks for the warm welcome!

Depends on what I'm wearing, I don't OC, just CC, I don't like painting a target on myself, but that's my opinion.

I prefer SIG and have several, my favorite is a p226 40cal or the SIG 1911 stainless, both with Hogue grips.
