auction price is exactly what it sounds like - when dealers want used vehicles to sell at their dealerships they often get them at auctions where other dealers get rid of the trade ins they took in and dont want to sell at their dealership

being out of production probably doesnt help the price because there wont be ant Victory dealers to bid at the auction, but if the bike is clean and considered a quality bike then who knows - - its an auction and it all depends on the bidding and the desirability of the particular bike

to me the only thing I would worry about if polaris were to stop production of Slingshots is how long they continue to supply parts and service. Like you, I have no plans to ever get rid of my Slingshot and the only thing I want from Polaris are the things that will be needed to keep it running until I can longer ride

    I feel the same way.

Let's all do everything that we can to promote the Slingshot. I had 3 different people driving my Slingshot over the weekend. Over the 70,000 miles I have on my Slingshot --- lots of people I just meet have driven it. I have also taken lots & lots for rides....

Well said. I do everything I can to promote the brand.

Not really. I've noticed their marketing strategy of posting items, even new ones, for a few bucks off 'retail' to avoid offering their sales promotions on those items and make them appear to be on sale. Examples? Gull Wing top, retail=$2,495, sale price=$2,445. Injen cold air intake, retail=$248.40, sale price=$244.95. There are some legitimate markdowns from 'retail' but it seems that most parts are showing a sale price instead of just lowering the price. Makes it look like a deal.

    Good observation.

I have a cockpit cover brand new from Slingmods. I never opened it. It is still in box. I'll take $60 for it. I got a bullet speed top before I even got a chance to open cockpit cover. Let's ride one weekend. I'll meet you half way. I am right at Exit 1 on I81. The Tn/Va line.

I have noticed in my area that the Harley guys are the ones that don't wave at us. My last bike was an 03 Electraglide. I've said this before on another thread. When the Harley guys don't wave, I just wanna go out and buy a Boss Hoss and give them the finger.:evil:

Hall of fame.....and Next they’ll be telling me I made centerfold on the new calendar...

Hey! Wait. I'm supposed to be on the centerfold. It's one of those new kind, you know, with four pages to fit my big a**.

You know even I agree with some of that. First of all I come from a long long line of Democrats on both sides of my family. I might be the only republican from either side of my family ever. I was worried that President Trump would be too abrasive for the position or that he would get fed up with Congress in a year and quit. Turns out he's done quite well. I, like most other conservative Americans wish he might tweet a little less or maybe talk less and listen more. He said it best. He would continue to tweet because America was listening. He is getting results and in this country we hand out too damn many participation awards, or the standard pay increase for every employee regardless of performance just because they are still there this year. It's time we start our own movement. The reward performance only movement.

I would really like to chime in on this subject. I would like to offer perspective from someone who has not been on this forum long. I said this in one of my very first posts; "after ten minutes on this forum, I knew I had stumbled on to something great". What a great group of people and I have only been to ONE event. There is great helpful people on this forum that I may never get to meet but have helped me already. I really understand what folks meant with concerns about the selection process. I have been the "cool kid", the "not so cool kid", and now the "new kid". I do not know this forums creator, I'm sure I will get the pleasure one day. Seems to me like that would be the creator's decision on whether to do it or not and our choice to decide whether to express our approval or disapproval of that decision. I can see a growing concern for the favorites card to be played. Hall of Fame might be a strong label. Maybe there would be another way to recognize people, A wall on the home screen for current accomplishments people have done to promote the Slingshot way of life. I. E. Anita's long ride or her video on Polaris. Mitch for putting on a great event. These are the only things I can use as an example because this is all I know. I am sure there are many more great people doing many great things. Two things to think about. Anybody that is a Nascar fan and has been for awhile can remember when the Nascar hall of fame started and Daryll Waltrip wasn't on the first ballot. He threw a fit. But at the same time our society is becoming so afraid to recognize accomplishments of others because the ones not being recognized could be offended or left out. I say this to the creator of this forum. I'm sure this forum has took on a life of its own over time but this forum was created for Slingshot owners. That's me. As a Slingshot owner I say do what you choose. This place is full of great people and now I am proud to say great friends. We all don't agree with everything we see and read on this forum, if you don't believe that I got two words for you "Politics Suck". No matter which way this goes not everybody will be happy but people should be recognized within the Slingshot community. A simple wall on the home screen could be the answer.
