Yes you did.. sorry I missed that.

I don't know I beat mine up pretty good and the only time I bottom out is on a steep transition when my splitter hits.

Yeah, I bottomed out at least twice in front (completely bending the splitter and front light mounts). But I also hit the back 8 or 9 (or more) times. I can see where I hit right under the A-arms in front and right back at the back corners where the frame triangulates into that casting. I figure if I put some sliders in those spots, that should make everything else clear.

I guess I could have turned up the shocks even higher. I set them about the middle of the cheat sheet for mountain driving.

    Thanks All,

I'm really looking just for something to protect the frame, not make it more aerodynamic. I like the thoughts of the bunk board/plastic sliders. I'm only thinking of putting them where I bottomed out before (now that those spots are clearly marked).

FINALLY, someone came out with a waterproof Double Din Marine Radio! The Boss Audio MRCP9685A.

Anyone have experience with it? Slingmods sells it.

I've been looking for consumer reviews, but nothing yet. I gotta say I was not real happy with the Boss Audio Amplifier Install Kit I bought so I'm a little leary.

I have the Kenwood DMX905S but it's not water proof. I mainly bought it for the rear camera and front dash cam availability. But I got caught in a rain storm and the cameras and button LEDs have quit (verified the camera's do work, stereo just doesn't show pic) so I need to replace.

Okay, I know this is a little out there. But has anyone done anything to protect the frame of the SS from bottoming out?

Background: A few weeks ago back at the Kerrville GTG, I went and drove the Three Twisted Sisters by myself. Let's just say I was a little aggressive in my driving and I bottomed out quite a few times. Luckily, no major damage (although my LEDs were torn to pieces) but I did see a couple minor dents/dings in the frame. And before anyone asks, yes, I had my shocks turned up to 10. (Perhaps I should have turned them up even more, but day to day, I run them about 2-4)

So got to thinking about what I might be able protect the frame and leds. Looked at the motorcycle frame sliders, looked at snow plow skid shoes, looked at rock sliders, even looked at skid plates. Got other ideas:?:

Those of you with air ride - what do you use when you set it down all the way?

Well I pulled the trigger on a supercharger today. Dave and Angie at DDM are great. I hope my install that I'm doing myself goes with no major issues.

I think I'm right behind you. Just paying for a backyard makeover first, the maybe a little Christmas present to myself....

Hey, Dave@DDMWorks - Any Black Friday sales coming soon??:D

I don't remember needing a 22mm Hex Socket/Allen Key. You do need a 30mm Deep Socket with a 24" Breaker Bar. I found that the deep socket gave me just enough depth to not have to use the extension or anything else. I used the breaker bar just enough to loosen the nut (less than 1/2 turn). Then I think there are some 15 or 16mm bolts on the angle drive mount that also just need to be loosened a 1/4 turn. Then behind the seat, there is a hole to put in a 15 (or 16?) mm socket with extension on a 3/8" drive ratchet. You only need to turn this also a little bit (1/4 to 1/2 turn) to take up a lot of tension. Then tighten everything back down. I've done it a couple times.

I tapped my extra lights into the high beam lights in the center too. Made a T-connector using the same Polaris stock connectors so that I can remove if necessary. Agreed, LEDs draw very little current compared to any other bulb, so no problems. Now when I hit the high beams, the fog/running lights come on also.

chavey2 years ago I drove a rig down to a buddy in Austin and he took me out for BBQ at a place I think was the Original Salt Lick. I remember an open property (I think near a lake) and a building with screened in porches and big round BBQ pits with all kinds of meats inside. We sat at picnic tables and I don't remember ordering, just eating everything available. Does this sound familiar?

    That's the place!

Down to San Antonio to join the Alamo Cycle Plex Sunday Slingshot Ride. Yes, the weather really was that nice. No, that picture is absolutely not photoshopped. Ended up having about 27+ SS on the ride, plus we met another group (4 or 5 SS) that were out doing a ride themselves.

Drove down with another SS from Austin to ACP - about 100 miles 1 way. Hit just a little bit of rain which gave us the jitters, but it was just 1 cloud. Joined the ACP ride, had lunch at the Original Salt Lick BBQ in Driftwood (Suburb of Austin) - Thank you Dave S @ ACP! Had a few beers, went with some other folk to the Twisted X Brewery for another beer, then home the long way through Bee Cave and around Lake Travis. About 250 miles give or take round trip.

My SS is about 10 back on the right hand side.

Generally bad idea. Maybe it's gotten better over the years, but the spray stuff was always a problem to get a good even coat without problems. And on the windshield would just make it worse.

Check around - I know many people sell used windshields and Madstad even sells replacement shields separately.
