The swingarm/axle cavity is big enough to hold a couple tubes of grease! The key will to be just a little grease every 5000 miles. Purpose is to not let it get dry. As long as the nut stays at 250 lbs. and the wheel is turning while a quick shot of grease is added you should never have a bad bearing the life of your SS. Bullet's swingarm is sweet ,however why spend a couple K on a major component after purchasing it for plus 23-26 K! To many other mods

Would love to do this My drill very seldom runs true.
That aluminum is so thick it won't matter. That is easy! One other thing I could never figure out is with that big ass axle nut why Polaris didn't use a castle nut with a cotter pin.

How long did this take you? And can I swing by and have you throw one in for me? Nice job. It was to much to ask for from Polaris. They might of had to raise the price another $2.50 for that option.
It really doesn't take to long. I would say two hours. I was going to say I recommend. No, make sure you get a new bearing beforehand. $75 at Polaris. Of coarse it wasn't in stock had to wait a week. It was hard getting the original out. It was pressed in the aluminum good.
My garage is always open. Note, the OME nut was 41mm or 1 5/8. I had my dealer sell me the double nut conversion which is 1 3/4". $30 I believe. Polaris wouldn't want to just give it to you to prevent K$ of work they might have to do while the SS is still under warranty. They would rather to roll the bones and hope it will surpass the warranty. Again Polaris -
I wanted to post these pictures on this forum. I took out the roller/needle bearing. It was pressed in .611 from the outside surface of the axle hole. End result center of the bearing for drilled and tapped hole was 1 1/16" from the outside surface of the axle hole. Replaced bearing and tried zerk. Grease went right where it was suppose to. I did place the bearing hole directly over zerk hole. This is what I plan to do. Jack up rear end put in 1st gear so tire turns slowly. Then one trigger pull of the grease gun. I plan to do this every 5000 miles. No down time during summer riding for me! Thanks Polaris for the expensive ass piss poor bearing design!

This is really the winner.
Pictures when you receive it!

My garage is heated, however not riding if it's cold. I need to get the Bob tune. Could be I have that much raw fuel not getting burned .
-
Never noticed it last year however after I back the SS in the garage it makes the whole house reek of gas. Anyone else get this? Can't remember if this was more evident after I installed the 1320 header or not.

Just looked. No edit or delete. I did delete a bunch last night. Bastards

That's great news! You're still going to have to wire in new LEDs. Maybe that's only scary to the unskilled. Haha
Wired them tonight and no issues!Leared a couple things.

I saw your post saying you ripped your lights out... I would have been PISSED!! I made damn sure I learned from your mistake and that I routed my wires carefully and gave plenty of slack for the opening and closing of the hood. Thanks for the heads up Brother!!
I would do it again as long as I helped warn others of what could result! Reggy @TricLed replaced them under warranty! I told him what I did! Awesome customer service!!

No electric fences here! That reminds me of the time my younger brother was crossing a electric fence on our farm in Il. He was wearing sweat pants and was only maybe 8. Caught a barb right on the crouch. Laughed my ass off. I did grab it and get him loose.

Hey guys, just finished up the Jmod and wanted to share some pics... Sorry about the reflections...
It is a awesome look. That's why I did it too. I hope you gave yourself enough slack in the LED wires so the hood can close and not pull on them! I just fixed mine tonight because I had them to tight and pulled them out.

Nah, water under the bridge at this point - I say let it go. We're all here! I will still sniff around over there but mainly to glean any new tidbits of info that come along (like those new Polaris luggage compartment bags I posted). Some of our friends don't want to come over because they don't feel they can handle keeping up with two forums (TravAZ is an example - we've PM'd ). @rabtech has created an awesome forum here!!! The other one is going downhill rapidly since we all came over here...
That's why I'm only here. I was wondering about him. If you know about this forum and your not a member ITS Your LOSS!

All members of SSinfo make sure if you don't see your familiar avatars let them know there is a better SSforum. Shack I know you must of been holding out so you could be #200

For sure Bill! I deleted threads and started on the posts. That's going to take some time. I'll just keep plinking away. No need to have any evidence I was ever there!

Glad I never joined the RZR forum. They're a dime a dozen. The SS is more cherished by the owners I think. We all have plenty of money stuck into them too. The members on this forum just like to stay connected even when we don't have a new mod to brag about. A great aspect of the web. Super info..........
