@KayTwo La Porte Slingshot --- RepoMan and 2 sons would like to come to lunch on Wed. Can we add them to the list. Jerry very seldom posts to the forum.
Thanks -
Lots of different ways to do it. Use of 'soft ties' keeps scratching of a minimum.
Also good to check straps every time you stop for coffee or gas.... -
There are 'soft ties' --- that are just looped pieces of strapping material that I use around the 'parts' and than hook the ratchet straps to the 'soft tie'...
check Walmart... or local MC dealer soft ties - Google Search aclk?sa=L&ai=DChcSEwi5wu60k5PbAhWYuMAKHVDaDMcYABAaGgJpbQ&ohost=www.google.com&cid=CAASE-RoCTjaB9byHwLEWPegeT0wInM&sig=AOD64_2NVaYS80x7Gll9zF2isHU1cb_RGw&ctype=5&q=&ved=0ahUKEwjZrem0k5PbAhUg0IMKHXAsCJIQ9aACCDA&adurl= -
@Ghost Ej is, as always, correct that GWRRA was/is not a Honda Corp thing. My point is Honda has done a lot over the years, at least from my past experience, in helping promote and support chapters.
My overall point is proven in the fact that GWRRA grew out of owners not Corp trying to make something happen.
I applaud Polaris in trying to get this off the ground. I disagree with tying it to dealers, but if it takes off they will drop that. IMHO
Jim just once in a while right....I was a member of GWRRA for some time before I became aware of the 'ownership'.
I'm glad that we thru this 'internet' we as Slingshot owners/riders have been able to get together...In Indiana we have had lots of gatherings and good times. -
ohhh I'm taking notes @EjFord
So during SSITS you are going to keep a pictorial record of all the young ladies I take for a ride???? (in the Slingshot)
-
Is it time to leave yet?
Got my Spring 2018 oil yesterday, so I'm ready....

The wife and I joined EJ last yr for a ride and I can say it was a humbling experience to see these young rock stars that have been fighting such a terrible disease that no child should ever have to fight. I was surprised when we found out the ride in Michigan was canceled for this coming year. It was a day I won't soon forget. I got to take Andrew for a ride in the slingshot and found out he loved Metallica music and it just so happened I had a memory stick with some of there songs on it and we rocked out for the hour we rode around
Gooseman I do remember that ride.... and @Ross should pop in now and make a comment. 13 years of doing "Ride for Kids" gotta go a little fun 'nuts' …. The good looking young lady is a long time friend. -
There is truly nothing more special then having a Star or a family member ride with you
Last year I was lucky enough to have this little lady ride with me. She lost her brother to brain cancer and listening to her tell me how much she missed her best friend made it hard to drive and choke back tears - hell I'm getting a little misty as I look back at these photos now.
Today, I'm not asking you to contribute your personal money to @DKF Texas, @EjFord, any of the other members who give to this outstanding charity, or even to my donation page.
Instead I want to ask you to have a conversation. A couple of quick questions and a few minutes of writing (I'll even help you with the writing if you need it). If you still work i want you to ask your boss if they do charitable giving - if they make donations to deserving foundations. If they do, you just need to ask how you get an organization considered for a donation - it's usually a form with 5 to 10 questions and once you get that form, I will help you fill it out if you want help.
You say you don't want to ask your boss or maybe your retired. No worries - just ask the same two questions of a business you do business with.
Does it work - yup, sure does .... I asked those 2 questions and answered a few questions on a form and not long after I got an email from Mary Moore the Director of Philanthropy at the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation thanking me for getting my employer to donate $1,500 this year. If I can do it, then there should be nothing standing in your way of getting your employer or favorite local business from standing up to help end brain rumors in kids.
Thanks for your time - hope to hear that you need my help filling out a donation request form or that you didn't need my help and got one or two forms submitted
I have twisted a lot of arms over the years Georgia and I have been working with the Ride for Kids....generally they twist pretty easy. The PBTF is a 501C charity so all donations can be deducted with no problem... I have the number for those who might need it.

Well it appears that Booking.com screwed up my reservation in Maggie Valley and had to move my booking to a different location. The wife and I won’t be at the Jonathan creek inn due to the screw up. We have been moved to the Creekside lodge. Anyone else staying there?
I hate using a hotel booking service but sometimes you get a better price.
I use the booking sites to check prices and than go directly to the motel...usually you can get that price and you know where your at... How good is price if you don't get what you want/need??? Hope the new spot works out well.

I became aware of this charity from @Painter and when he told me about it I was besides myself. I congratulated him on his efforts and he flat told me that what he does is nothing compared to what @EjFord and @DKF Texas were doing. When I saw this auction I bid immediately.
These are kids that are born with a problem...they are innocent and if there is something I could do (like a donation) I was doing it.
Every member on the forum has spent a boat load of cash on their sling....what is a couple of dollars for a sick kid?
All I ask is if you have some spare change...can you go without a super ultra latte with double pumps for one day....one less trip to BK...to help a sick kid!
I will thank everybody in advance for whatever they could do to help. This is a great community that Im proud to be a part of and Im hoping it will help support a great charity!

Thanks for the support. If we all do a little for others lots of good things happen.
If you every have the opportunity to do a 'Ride for Kids' event DO IT. The Kids who are suffering brain tumors and their families come out for the day and join us for a great ride. (this is the spot where I always insert the fact that I'm looking for one of the Cute Moms to take on the ride) Doesn't matter is it's a Star (brain tumor survivor) or a family member you will not forget the experience.
The Atlanta Ride for Kids is 3 June 2018...

Check out ride in your area.... Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation - Upcoming Events -
Still looking for a 'roommate' for SSITS...I have a nice room at the Four Seasons Mon. 28 May thus Sat 2 Jun ….
-
Are you heading down on Monday?
The game plan at this point is to leave about 4:30 am on Monday and meet the Posse in Louisville, KY --- I am riding the Slingshot.
-
Jim, is/was there ever any "official" corporate involvement from Honda in the GWRRA?
GWRRA is a privately owned company....(by a couple of people). Dictatorship from the TOP down. A good group but a business/company.
-
PERFECT!
I wanted to say thank you to @mytoy for donating his product up for bid for the kids and I want to especially thank @DKF Texas for all of the work She is doing for the Pediatric Brain tumor foundation.
Me getting a great product from MyToy is just a side benefit...the real pleasure comes from helping the ones who need it most. I wish everybody who reads this post would donate anything...1 dollar...5 dollar..10 dollar or any number in between.
Lets give a kid a fighting chance!!

Not current but self explanatory.
Are you and your lovely hiding under the 'cover'?

I have a room at the Four Seasons for 28 May to 2 June. Anybody want to share some space to save a little for 'mods'.....
-
The Rivco Fender/Mud Guard was one of my first mods back in 2015. Of course, I paid full price. If you want to save money, wait until I buy something first...
And most of us who have bought a great new toy "Slingshot" ----KNOW that you should NEVER but the first year or two of anything....bugs need to get work out.
Me (smart) 1966 Fiat 850 Spider (second year in US) 1968 Porsche 914 (second year in US) fast forward Feb 2015 Slingshot...and I love it. Have had lots of fun.... -
Rivco is a top notch company that has been making after market motorcycle products for 25+ years. Dec2014/Jan 2015 they 'stored' a friends new Slingshot to keep the Wisconsin Snow off it and design products. He got fender and other stuff they designed.
