Did you order directly with Status or through slingmods?
Did you order directly with Status or through slingmods?
Through sling mods, and they are great. I'm so sorry they are caught in the middle of this. If I file a charge dispute, it will go against them and not PRP. They have been talking with PRP on this but are informing me PRP won't budge on anything other than "fixing" the stitching. -

EDITED: I typed Daytona Black but I meant Edge Black. For pete's sake, how many blacks do they offer that aren't really black? Daytona, Edge... I just wanted black! Don't put black in the name if it isn't black!
I don't recommend anyone buying STATUS seat covers!
I ordered these last month in BLACK with diamond stitching.
Here's a picture of my black shoe. These seat covers are dark SILVER! In no way are these any shade of black. But they say their "Daytona Black" color is that silver shade and that's what I ordered so that's what I got. Then why don't they call it Daytona Silver????????
And where's the $150 diamond stitching???
They say I can send them back and they will "fix" the stitching, which means pull out the incorrect stitching, leave little holes, and stitch over it with the stitching I ordered.
I told them that is unacceptable, as is their "black" color, but they don't care and won't budge.
I am going to post this experience to every forum and Facebook Slingshot group I can find.
And they won't care, which says a LOT about this company.

looks good, but I have no clue what exactly you removed
Lower front decals. The splitter decals...
-
A little bit of hairdryer on high and the lower front decals came right off, no glue residue. I like the cleaner look much better.

I've got Lexani 20s wheels coming with Lexani tires. Couple more weeks.

Can anyone who has these installed tell me if it gives you more leg room on the driver's side?
I just can't stand the stock pods anymore - my leg feels so unnatural when pushing the clutch down because it is so pushed over by the stock speaker pods.
I read the reviews on these in slingmods and one person said it gives you more room, another person said they stick out MORE than the stock pods.

What makes you think that the attention is focused on the slingshot and not the hot chick behind the wheel?
I'm 50 something.... Back to reality -

Does it have the stock kendra on the rear ?
The rear is all stock -
Had the Sling for a few weeks now, working on some mods in the garage, but it's been too snowy to ride it.
Supposed to be 65 degrees today so I rode it to work. I'm not a led foot, but wow that back end can scoot out so easily. I checked and the traction control is on, not off. I haven't driven a stick in quite a while so I'm sure I will adjust to not get that back end slipping.
It was a little unnerving, because all the way into work people were staring as they were driving, or even taking pictures at green lights while they held traffic up for the picture. One lady even pulled over to let me go so she could show her kid as I went by.
The attention is crazy - I imagine it's going to be like that all summer long. Kinda fun, but I wish they would pay more attention to the road!
I'm bummed to find that the 2017 SLR doesn't have a navigation system - I thought Ride Command came in the 2017 models.

If you are referring to the openings thru which the roll bars are mounted to the frame, I'd expect the missing screw to have either fallen thru to the floor or to possibly be sitting on top of the gas tank, depending on whether you dropped it into the outer or inner opening.
There are only 2 types of screw used to fasten the roll bar/hoop covers together.
One is a standard body panel screw commonly used on the Slingshot - B078JPSH8Q. The other is a dual-thread design designed to secure plastic to plastic and is also used to hold the painted trim pieces near the mirrors and the plastic accent hood panels to the bottom of the hood - B000N3JT10. I included the Amazon links so you can easily id which screw you're looking for. Good Luck.
You might find these pics useful in trying to figure out where the screw might have fallen/lodged -

If it fell into the outer opening, it might have landed on the little shelf-like area on Items 4 or 10 in the last link. Both of those panels come off pretty easily.
Also, be very careful when reinstalling bolts or screws. The soft cheese Polaris makes their fasteners from can be all too easily cross-threaded when using a power driver to reinstall them. Your best bet is to start them by hand and if you feel any resistance to screwing them in, assume they might be trying to cross-thread themselves and try to start them again.
It fell in the inner hole on the gas tank side. The first thing I did was thoroughly check the floor. Well, I broke down and bought a bunch at Babbits, just to have some spare ones on hand. -
Try posting a pic of the area you think it fell into and maybe one of us can provide some tips on locating the screw. In my area, there are several ACE hardware stores, all of which have a better selection of metric bolts and screws than the typical; big box hardware stores. A couple of the ACE hardware stores have even bigger selections than others. They can be a little more expensive, but you won't be paying exorbitant shipping on small items.
Another option is checking with a used ATV dealer if you don't have a Polaris Slingshot dealer nearby. As long as they can order a part as part of their normal delivery and it's a small piece like a screw or bolt, you shouldn't have to pay extra for shipping.
There aren't any Rural King stores in your area, but I ordered an RK AGM34 battery online last year for just over $100 on sale, normally priced around $125, an exellent price for an AGM batteyr. Pep Boys carries a Bosch branded battery that looks identical - Bosch Platinum Series AGM Battery Group, Size 34 | 838883 | Pep Boys and it's on sale for less than $150. Both batteries are fit in the original 2015 or aftermarket larger battery trays. I should ad that the battery wasn't packed as well as I would have preferred, but it got here OK.OK I will try that tonight. I looked with a flashlight everywhere I could see... nothing. I also put a magnet on a coat hanger as someone here suggested, and fished it all around in there especially in places I couldn't see. Nothing.
As someone else also suggested, I think I might look around at more inconspicuous places on the sling for the same screw, and swap it out for the missing roll bar cover screw.
This is why I always use a magnet attachment on my drill! Dang.

Struck out on the battery today. Three auto zones - each had the Optima but all covered in dust and manufactured more than a year ago.
One did have one manufactured 7 months ago. Maybe I ought to go back and get that one.
I really don't want to order it on-line because the weight causes the boxes to break and the batteries come damaged, as many of the reviews show.
Not a good day today.

>>go to Babbit's online and you can get any part you need for your SS and usually cheaper than going to Polaris. 2017 Polaris SLINGSHOT ALL OPTIONS (T17AAPF/AARF/AASF) Body, Rear Asm., Upper All Options | Babbitts Online
$10 to ship a screw???
First class mail is how they would ship it, and that would be less than $1. Forget it.

Well after doing a lot of reading of threads in here, I'm headed up to the store to get a yellow Optima battery. Ordered the battery box upgrade from sling mods. Man, I haven't even driven my Slingshot yet and ca-CHING!!

Magnet taped to a coat hangar solves everything
If only I could see the screw....
