Go ahead - rub it in x-roomie! My Thule can conceal tactical shotguns and ARs.
@Cape Sling So you are definitely not going?!

@Cape Sling So you are definitely not going?!
lol apology accepted... Yes Massachusetts is a tough state. I will have to check out your setup
Guess I'll be shopping at the Rab booth come smokies time!
I can see it now. @rabtech Selling his wares.. @Bill Martin with the Whiskey and Cigars and all us fabulous people enjoying ourselves with our new T-Shirts on sitting around a campfire.
Great now I really want a 7" blade. This may be the first time ever that I wasn't wishing for an extra two inches.
You hope that is what she said!
Had a bunch of spare belt parts from past projects and installed this today. Unfortunately I'm not sure I like it. Feels a bit uncomfortable, restrictive and makes it a pain to swing the seat forward to access the trunk.
Fly Buddy... that literally just helped me decide on what belts to get. Those are attached to the bottom belt so you can not disconnect them.
Nice seats by the way I will be getting my PRP seats this week. I hope they are going to look nice in my Slingshot!
I will be buying these!
Is there a video for installation or is it just the photographs? What tools were used etc.. I see some have different ideas. I am not going to get the bracket myself. I will probably use the bolts that are behind the seat.. I am leaning towards cutting the slot and going under the top painted plastic.
So I know some of this was discussed on the old forum. I didn't feel like searching it to find what I read before.
I have a LTC class A in Massachusetts and I looked online and saw that NC you are allowed to carry. The problem is the states I travel through do not recognize MA LTC. Now this might open up a big discussion but our constitution states we have the right to bear arms. States pretty much put stipulations for control and to collect money. I know there have been court cases where people had a license for a certain state and they were pulled over in another state that did not recognize it and they fought it all the way to Supreme Court and won based on Constitutional Carry.
What is everyone's thoughts on this.
Replacing the stock air box and filter with one that breathes better is only part of the job. The convoluted rubber tube that connects the air box to the throttle body is also a BIG impediment to air flow. Also, without shielding, placing an open filter in front of the engine lets it draw air from around the hot radiator and engine as well as from outside. Although your intent is good, it is hardly efficient.
Hello there P-Bay G-Man
The cost of this cold air intake is the cheapest setup you will find. If you want to spend more money for a nice CAI there are plenty to be purchased.. I prefer the Alpha CAI myself.
I will also tell you that the Redneck CAI does make a significant difference and in real world performance a better CAI you will not see that big of a jump over this.
The reason this was offered is for people that can not afford a more expensive CAI or they are going to go with a Turbo Kit or Supercharger and there is no need to spend the money on a expensive CAI in the meantime.
@Bill from Hahn RaceCraft great post!...but it would only let me 'like' once
@MACAWS I hear ya...I'm running the JRI 2 way which are unbelievable...but a 3 way would be even better. I accelerate really hard out of turns and on bumpy AR roads, to be able to weaken the rebound on the rear would help even more, IMHO
I am running the JRI 2 Ways also and they are pretty amazing! I was going to get the JRI hydro setup but I couldn't justify the 3k extra to adjust it here and there.
I am using the 275/35ZR-18 Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 XL for the rear
225/45ZR-17 Hankook Ventus V12 evo2 XL for the fronts.
I have about 8,500miles on the rear with some tread life left. I am going to purchase another rear to put on before the long drive to the Smokies.
Nice looking tread and pretty good wear. Traction seems to be as good as it will get without going to a Soft track style tire.
Anyone else running these tires have an opinion?
My vote is below SCROTH Racing
Not on your list but they are DOT 3" shoulder belts and 2" Lap
Not cheap
What would you say to compare the SCHROTH PROFI II-FE ASM $340 that you have vs. Rallye Cross $190
Reasons you choose one over the other?
Those Schroth Racing ones look nice but it is $340 per side?! I was thinking of these in Blue but they are expensive
The Beard ones look comfortable and are a lot cheaper $89.96 per side

Anyone have a comparison of quality and comfort?
I just saw this on the forum and my heart immediately sunk and the tears welled up in my eyes. I did not have the pleasure of meeting Jim and Pam but consider them family like many others on here. I have been looking forward to meeting all of you in the Smokies and sadly I will not get to meet Jim. I pray that he is not lostnparadise but now RestnParadise. I pray for Pam to stay strong and a speedy recovery. I pray for both families to find peace and comfort in this time of need.
Haha thanks Tripod.. When it is your turn I will just come for the cake also
I actually drove my SS for a couple months without a windshield. I didn't mind it too much I wear a full face helmet, definitely gives your neck a workout with the turbulence lol. After much research I went with the Madstad windshield and it is nice to be able to adjust it for the right amount of airflow. You wont be disappointed!
Jonathan Creek Inn is where it's at. I will be there Monday
Too little too late.
I'm over there doing battle right now on the inability to edit posts. Interesting that it's only affecting some people who are also here on this forum now...
Here it is Champagne taste with Cool-Aid pockets!
Start by removing your stock air box and let the fun begin!
Now I am sure there are cheaper air filters but lets not get too cheap here lol
I used an AEM filter $48.99 (Mine was free from a friend) (Dryflow
there is no oil like K&N uses which can ruin mass airflow sensors)
http://www.amazon.com/AEM-21-201DK-...=1442894915&sr=1-1&keywords=2.5inch+inlet+AEM
2.5" Electrical Conduit not the typical white PVC pipe they do not make 2.5"
Cut the Flared out piece off completely <----------
The filter comes with a hose clamp and you use your factory intake tube no modifications necessary!
One strategically placed zip tie and Whela !!!
I am going to get a turbo kit at some point, so why spend the money for an intake setup when you can have this!!!
Hope you all enjoyed this!
I am counting the days I can't wait! Driving down from the North East, Massachusetts!!! I am going to be there on Monday I have the room booked from May 30th-June 4th
I have my rides book for the 1st-4th
I just hope I have some money to buy a couple things. Being unemployed almost 4 months before the event is not a good thing
I don't know if you can just replace the studs like that without removing the head to replace the gasket, considering you don't want to warp your head by having some bolts torqued and others not, anyways I wouldn't do it. While you are there, replace your rods and pistons....
But yeah this is the ARP kit if you go that way:
You should be able to replace the bolts one at a time so you do not have to remove the head or play with replacing the gasket. I spoke to DDM and they said that would be the easiest way.

I have a set I just need to put them on.
