Smackshot. Welcome! My wife and I are going to find ourselves down by the beach more often with this warm weather. We usually come down the 261 when going to Newport right past the blimp hangers in your neck of the woods. Got you on my radar! [/size]

    Hey Smackshot
    Welcome to the forum

I am also in So Cal. Over the mountain from you in Palm Spring would love to hook up and ride some time

There are some others here who are more in your area than i am I think you might be very close to @SoCal There is also a group on Facebook you should check out called Cali Slingers here is a link

Hey Ed and everybody else you may want to check out this good Sam roadside service. I was a AAA guy for 25 years and got fed up with paying through the nose. I have had to use good Sam twice and it is every bit as good as AAA and as a matter of fact when we called a AAA truck showed up. Crazy less expensive and they have a motorcycle RV package that I have that will tow you up to 200 miles in any Direction

Just got a call from the dealer. Battery is only at 8 volts and wont take a charge. They dont know if something else killed the battery, but they cant test anything until the battery is replaced so they had to get me to authorize a new battery before they can continue.

I would love it if it turns out to just be the battery, but that then raises the question of why I couldnt get it to do anything when I attached the jump starter

Oh well - they will figure it out and they already got the recalls done :D

I think this is an appropriate thumbs down moment but I couldn’t bring myself to touch the button! So sorry to hear of your troubles !
I have no clue why this might’ve happened but in the Palm Springs 116° heat is it possible that something just shut down like if you leave your phone in the sun?

was on my way to work and stopped for gas. there was a line at the pump so i shut it off to wait. when it came time to pull forward to the pump I turned the key and the needles on the gauges swung to the right and just froze and everything went dark. Tried the key several more times and nothing. the word "booting" appeared flickering for a brief moment and the gauge needles dropped a bit back to the left and then froze again with everything dead. Tried my jump starter and it did nothing. Thanks to AAA got a flat bed and towed it 80 miles to the dealer to find what the heck happened. I suspect it might be the ECU. it has done some weird things in the past like not turning on the radio for several minutes after starting.

has anyone here and anything like this happen? Its not a big deal and I needed to get my recalls done anyway, but I just curious if this is a known thing or if I just got lucky

    :)

They have four different gradations of color as well so you can pick your team. These are the third darkest. I felt like I needed just a little bit less than black out. The signal still comes through really well when activated. I tried to do a two second video with it but this site would not take it

    Aaaaaaaaand DONE!

Installed the two front smoke appliqués over the front turn signals. Did not need the film over the reflectors because I removed them. Film was actually quite easy to install very forgiving and quite thick which impressed me because I think it will be really durable. Happy camper until the next idea it’s me. :D

The turn signal still shines through quite well

No. I have two wired switches on the panel that go to the fuse block but end there. I wired these to the blue sea extra fuse block when I had the dash apart so I wouldn’t have to take it apart again if I wanted to add something. I would like to use one of those two switches to be an on off switch for the 6 headlights as opposed to having them on all the time. I have one switch dedicated to just halos and under lighting. I would like the other to be able to control the headlights so they don’t have to be on all the time, so I could run halos only, headlights only, or switch both on.

You are really talking about 4 separate switches for all of the lights

I’m treading into uncharted territory however I am going to try and find a schematic of the main key switch. I want to see if there is one hot lead that branches off to all of the headlights and if so that would be my sweet spot to cut in there and install a switch ........ ?( I think. Just like I believe the ignition switch is wired. The key goes on but the motor doesn’t start until you push the button.

I'd think you could use one of the SlingMods switches to wire the Halos on one side of the switch and the headlights on the other side of the switch. They also have wiring harnesses for the headlight switches. Polaris Slingshot Dash Switches & Relays
Another option is to wire in new headlight connectors for the Fog Light circuit and run the Outer Auxiliary headlights on that circuit. You'd need to add a fuse and switch, but that gives you a set of backup headlights independent of the main headlights. The Fog Light circuit is rated at 10A, so you can safely run 2 x 55W bulbs or even better, LEDs w/o problem.

Thank you for the quick reply and detail much appreciated! I was actually hopeful that I could just find the Hot lead wire off of the switch that goes to the lights and put my switch on the dash in line. Even going so far as to install a fuse if necessary. Is that too simplistic? Again I am no electrical genius!

Again thank you for the information on the lights.

Any thoughts on how to wire the headlights into a switch on my dash? I installed three switches, two are still available that are blind to the fuse box waiting for whatever. Any thoughts on how I could use one of those switches to make the headlights manual like I have the under lighting and halos? In other words where might there be easy access to the power wire to the lights off of the ignition switch that I could interrupt and wire to one of my switches on the dash. I am just thinking it would be cool during the daytime to just run the halos and not the headlights. Have both halos and headlights individual and manual at their own switch. ?(

Good'ol slingmods. The directions are in their installation .pdf!

For the record about their warning... I am running all 6 conventional lightbulbs on full time and have had no issues for 1.5 years. But then again I don't have anything else wired in the SS on those circuits. No other LEDs or bling.

Ouch! That’s a lot of mod $! You sure you realllly need hot water?? :P

Kiddin’ - that kind of wrenching ain’t no fun!
    Hope it went well!

You know what pisses me off....working a 14 hour day and coming home to find my house flooded from the freaking water heater bursting and having to spend 500.00 and spend half the night fixing it! To goto bed at 1 am and have to be up at 5 to work tomorrow another 14 hour shift!!! :cursing::00000003::00007505:

    Goodnight everybody!!
