Which now begs the question....do any of you have/use an alarm system in your sling? If so what kind?

Anybody hear or used the Scorpio Ride System?

    Reap

I had a Scorpio on my Wing. It has pros and cons. It does trickle down the battery over time and it did sound off if the wind caused the bike to move. Also, people parking next to it would set off the proximity alarm at hotels and restaurants. Pro - the fob will sound off to let you know that the scoot is sounding off.

    Thats a nice looking sling!!

This is what it looks like today.

I love the colors and mods that Larry has done to it. Yes, there will be changes, subtle and tastefully done in keeping with the looks of the SS. But, it will become mine in time.

Come on kids there is a bright side - we do have a new member with great looking sling.
Now @Tripod never came to MV but I bet his sling will be there this year.....

Yes it will. We live on the other side of the Smokies from MV and already have reservations at the campground. Looking forward to showing off the Orange Madness. Besides, it fits right in with the Vol Nation.

The only this I can say is the early models 15 -16 had some more frame components that were removed in the later years to save weight.
But I do not see any other major differences except for options.

get a base and have it your way.

Do you think that the 15 frame is stiffer?

Tripod. You will always have a bed near the Smokies and about 30 miles from the foot of The Dragon. And a Sling to ride when you get here.

@All. I’ve had a hard time keeping this under wraps and am glad that Larry spilled the beans. I had seen photos in his gallery and was really surprised when he offered the ride to me. It will be lovingly cared for and ridden. Timing for pickup is still in the planning stage.

I’m real tempted to take @gorgebri60 up on the ride to the Hill Country. Two reasons: 1) would love to ride with a fellow El Pasoan. And 2) I love the Hill Country.

We are looking forward to many years of enjoyment on the Sling and the camaraderie of this forum.

Okay, just a slight exaggeration... It’s only 1522.7 miles... :whistling:

(I guess the cat’s out of the bag now...)

Yep, you spilled the beans. . And by the time we get home it will be close to 2,000 miles. Gonna stay south as much as I can on the return. Might make a dash up to Santa Fe then towards Marfa then to San Antonio. Miss N has never been to Santa or Marfa. Gotta see the Marfa Lights.

Well, my personal quest for a SS is in full swing. The buyer of my Wing took delivery about an hour ago. Poor guy is riding it from here to Sevierville in the snow.

Next step it to go get the most beautiful Sling on earth. Just gotta wait for the weather to improve for the 2,000 mile journey. Should be good to go in April sometime.
