Yep that turbo ain't killin' another stock motor on my watch

I think the guy who owned may have just pushed it a little to hard. If I remember his post he said he was just tooling along at 100mpp when it blew up.
It sounds like a good deal but I would definitely call Cycle Springs to get more info. There ae plenty of deals out there if he keeps looking. Maybe more in the 20K range but all original.
Hell a new base is 22K110 mph when he saw the blue lights in his mirror per a phone conversation I had with him.
Let's not forget he had the optional speed boost controller ... very risky with a factory stock motor IMHO. -
If I was in his shoes and blew an engine why not pick up a DDM Works engine for like $3800 and re-use the turbo with a stronger engine.
Because "the turbo" is sitting in my garage.

Lol yeah real familiar ... Sure am glad "Noel and Company" handled that transaction for me. They took care of me on that one.I'd probably still be waiting for my shit.

The ss excels in the corners, it's made for them, regardless of age.
1) Find someone going turbo, buy a used cai. Find someone selling an used exhaust, plenty available. Buy some 1320 headers = $700-1000
2) Buy ^ those items new $1200-1700
3) Buy a turbo or supercharger $2500(joke)-6500
4) Buy a ^ and build your engine = additional $2500-3000
5) Buy a v8 = $20000-25000
6) add a turbo to v8 = I'm just guessing...$5000
7) get a ddm short shifter = $150
So there are options from $150-30000
The elbow in the stock intake is very restrictive, so is the cat in the exhaust, and the exhaustWhat are you trying to do @Shack dethrone me from the "owner of most used aftermarket parts" ?

Kim and I had the honor of meeting Jim and Pam at the F.I.R.M. during Biketoberfest last fall. And it was exactly that "An Honor". They were so friendly and equally passionate about life and all things Slingshot. I told them we needed to get together and do some riding some weekend since we live so close to each other. We now regret we have lost that opportunity. I can't even imagine the emotional pain Pam is enduring not to mention the physical pain.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Pam and her family... Rest in Peace Jim -

how can we get a tighter steering ratio?
After market spindles with a shorter arm where the steering tie rod attaches would be one way

The bankruptcy laws have changed IMO in the past few years making it more difficult to screw creditors completely. It is a valuable tool for folks that have lost their job or health related issues. Unfortunately there are many that know how to use the same tool to scam the court avoiding valid debt. SO, once again, many things that had very honorable intentions at the onset fall to the wayside for the greedy and nefarious.
Yes @Bill Martin I agree completely. There are many instances where it is a necessary tool. I was just referring to the subjects that often use it as a convenient legal loophole to walk away from debt.

will this help the steering ratio and make it more responsive?
No it won't change the steering ratio but a fix would certainly remove any slop.

That's why I have a problem with the way our courts handle bankruptcy.
If you are "bankrupt" chances are you are broke ...
If, on the other hand, you "file for bankruptcy" chances are your creditors could go broke.
What the hell did they do wrong other than loan your dumb ass money.
Really makes you want to be a creditor doesn't it. -
Just came over from the dark side.
Welcome @Flybuddy what took ya so long ? J/K

The "bushing", as Polaris has named it, also doubles as the needle bearings hardened inner race. So if you have waited too late and are already having problems with the pulley side needle bearing before doing this mod. IMHO it is best to replace the "bushing" as well. The pair cost me less than $100.00 late last summer from Polaris.
Great job posting this @Travis .It's posts like this that really help the less experienced gain the confidence it takes to try something on their own.
