Thoughts and prayers headed your way. Take care and God speed. I haven't met you yet but it is on my bucket list.

I got my extended warranty through @FixMyToysZach and they did me right. The only reason I got the extended warranty is because my sling had not been driven much. It only had 1100 miles on it when the warranty ran out so I felt better getting 3 more years on the warranty. Was worth it for me and my peace of mind. Had it had more miles on it it may have changed the way I looked at it. All in all happy with Zach and the way they helped me, good people.

Cant wait to get mine and install it. Hopefully the hole that needs to be drilled won't be too hard, I am not a total cluts but do worry about drilling my new toy.

I could see the Government paying to get a couple hundred of the 1000 watt units. lord knows they are willing to spend $5000 on a toilet seat.
I don't think the government actually paid $5000.00 for a toilet seat, I think that is how they accumulate their black slush funds.

Says the guy with sunny and 60 degrees heading into the weekend! Don't mind me, I'm not whining, but I am jealous just a little!
I am not a little jealous, I am a whole lot jealous. I have shocks to get on, a cat delete pipe to install, a meansling hood assist to get installed and Rabtechs front end protection. I could be busy on fun things but too dang cold in garage for even the heater to help.

I don't believe I have seen that type of setup. Where did you get the seat belt mounting bar (not sure what it is called)?

Thanks, looks like I am going to have to improve my welding skills and learn to paint.

@gooseman, is that fender pretty heavy? I would really like to do something like that and maybe put a slight upturn on the end of it.

I really like it, have been trying to come up with the parts to make one myself. How did you bend the sheet metal for the top? Don't have access to a machine that can bend sheet stock.
-
@gooseman, I suppose with the wx you haven't had a chance to road test it yet. I found, when I made my motorcycle trailer and used flat stock for the braces I got a lot of vibration. Welded a piece of flat stock perpendicular to the flat of the brace to give me a T. This helped a lot with vibration.

All the cold weather gear in the world doesnt help if you're wearing tennis shoes....
That and running at 100+ really drives down the wind chill. @ericastar76 hope you warm up.

I was thinking maybe about the time of color change on trees. What time of year is that in that part of country. That may be too late . Just ideas all need to chime in cause this is the ride for 2019. What say you all?
Fall colors are late Sept. around the buffalo Roundup. Went there this year n the colors were great.

I go there almost every summer, friend has a cabin just outside of Custer, SD. They had a nasty fire out there this fall, not sure how much got damaged but I heard it was pretty nasty. Almost got smucked by a cow buffalo, if it wasn't for the Ranger in a pickup I would have gotten to see how good there EMS service was. He got the truck between my bike and the cow just as she charged and dented the heck out if his truck. Dam cars stop and don't let you through and all you can do is pray. It is beautiful there and go every year. No dam bison is gonna keep me away.

No mods under the tree for me but the family was nice enough to give $ that can be turned into mods. Best move since they don't know the SS well yet. If I can find good deals I think I have enough for QA1 shocks, @Rabtechs front end protection kit, and 4 point restraints. These are at the top of my list for now so I hope I can find the deals I need to get it all done.

Merry Christmas to you also rabtech. I have said it more than once but it can never be said enough, this is a great forum and I have never felt so accepted anywhere else as I do here. Just goes to show you what a class place this is (there are classless moments but they make it fun). To all the great people on this forum MERRY CHRISTMAS.

^^^ Brilliant! For those that missed it, check out the note to Santa that @Cowboy put in the above pic! Love it!
Hey, it worked for me, kind of. We had to have Christmas early so everyone could be there so got my gifts early. All my kids and the wifey gave me $ to get stuff for, as my daughter put it, your hot rod thingy. I am a lucky man, I have a great family, I have a Slingshot in the fastest color and I am a member of a great forum. Its been a pretty darn good year. Hope all of you are at least half as lucky as I am.
I wanted to ditto what exharleyrider said...I bought my sling in August and just happened upon this forum one night. Boy I'm glad I did! I made it to Eureka Springs (although I could only make it Saturday) and had a blast. Met some outstanding people and couldn't tell you how much I have learned. Found out about Ross's amazing calendars and proudly hang one mine in my office and one in the shop. And yes, I've already started my mods! So, from a rookie newbie....Merry Christmas everyone and I hope Santa brings you everything you want and may 2018 be the best year ever!

I have found that stupid actually fixes itself in a lot of incidences.

Ouch, those were harsh. I never tried most of them. Lol
