Just got pulled over this afternoon going to lunch by a Tennessee State trooper. He stated that they have finally received clarification on helmets and the slingshot. He was super nice and just pulled me over to give me a heads up and warn me. Unless you have a roof on it you have to wear a helmet. He started that they are giving folks the heads up now and will be issuing tickets in about a month. I will probably get a ticket then start wearing it.

Since we are talking lights, I have another question. For the LED conversion kit, did you guys go with SlingMods or search out your own replacements?

Welcome to the forum. Some on here would say..... Pics or it didn't happen.
I see what you did there :-). One hell of a good try if I might add!

6 heart attacks so far. Open heart surgery at 47. Cold turkey for about a year. Hardest thing was to stay quit. Picked up vaporizer Cig. Went from high nicotine to low then stopped. It's the routine of the damn things that get you after you get rid of the nicotine addiction. A few things to consider... get rid of all ashtrays and lighters. Chew gum while driving. Not the nicotine type. Stay out of the bars for a while and monitor alcohol if you drink. Tell friends you are quitting and ask for their help. It's a bitch but worth it. Tell yourself with all the money you are saving you can get more bling for your Sshot. Do you have a spouse that smokes?
I would agree with the money savings! I also agree staying quit is the hardest thing to do, but worth it. One of the worst things I did was convince myself after 3-4 years of quitting that I could have one and handle it. Well that didn't work and was back at it in no time. Finally quit and will never pick one up again. You could still smoke, but just use a left hander :-). You are going to have to replace the physical addiction with something for a while. Gum, Food, Cig vap, or whatever.
So after saving $150 a month from smoking and paying off the best set of tits the doctor could order. We rewarded ourselves with a 2017 slingshot

@MiM I am curious why you decided to go with these instead of the ones in the video.

Thanks for the info guys! Have been looking for something for the front!

Is top shine f11 for both the paint and the black plastic? How often do I have to put it on? TIA

Thanks guys! I was not sure with the 3m tape, but a simple bolt or two would work and not make it look bad. I am interested either way :-)!
-
Looks Great!!! I love the idea and have been looking for something like this without a huge price tag.
I would be interested in one powder coated and clear coated with possibly the polish down. Would like to see what it looks like. Would there be any concern of this coming off with it only being tape? I have not used the 3m tape before. It could be nasty if this thing came off at 70-80 mph and caught the wheel

Please share components and links if possible @Cypressfunk13...
$60 sounds great! And I don't mind doing the labor...
I ordered 2 sets of these lights (payed about $20 each as I made him an offer) as they had protection from the elements that you will see being under a car. Used Tie wraps and some Guerrilla Glue (looks like caulk) to make sure it was secure. I used both controllers, but one remote since it is the same frequency. Mounted the controllers in the glove box and ran got my power from splicing the wires off of the 12v (cigarette lighter). Used nomex/plastic wire protection as I had to run some of the wiring close to the exhaust. Attached are some pics of the things I used.
Pics:
1. Splicing tool used so I did not have to cut wires.
2. Undercarriage of how I connected the lights. Red and Green lines are the 36" and the Blue and Orange are the 24". The orange ones I put one on top and bottom of that bar. For underglow and grill glow.

Just did my first simple change to my SS. Did the lighting for about $60 and 6 hours or work. Now I just need to do some paint work and then the 'power mods"

Alphapowersport.com is the bomb and I'm sure there is others but slingmods.com is a favorite and I only deal with Chris. He sells customer service and I have paid extra for that.

Customer service... Say What? Businesses still do that now days! I am amazed and would gladly pay extra for great CS

@rnj12 I don't like either team, but am leaning towards the Green. I am going to put some other colors together and see what I can come up with.
@Drew71646 @jorgebri60 I suck at photoshop, but have a great father-in law that has some mad design skills.
Are there any site to find good aftermarket parts besides, slingmods, slingshot only, and mean sling?

Thanks I will look for some of those events! I am always down to help kids. I have a 9 year old and if we are not traveling for soccer I am usually riding with the wife or him.
Yes good ol Ft Campbell and Clarksville speedway! I am not sure when you were there, but that town has gotten big. I will keep the Richmond machine shop in mind. Hard to find a good/honest mechanic in an Army town.

Thanks everyone! so Far I love it and thought when I bought it I would not get much after market stuff. Boy am I wrong and there is so much to look at! I enjoy being a nut and in the company of other nutcases ( I could not type enjoy the company of nuts). I live a a little North of Nashville, Tn in a city called Clarksville. Here is a pic of my new SS, but plan on hydrodipping, painting or wrapping some of the black on it. I also attached some photoshopped pics of possible colors. Would love to hear opinions even if you think it is ugly.
I love having the conversations about it and meeting new folks. I hope to meet some other riders in my area or make a road trip to meet others. Thanks for the Warm welcome, You guys rock!
Lots of amazing folks here... welcome to the family!
