They are very reliable cars...the engine is damn near bullet proof. Just make sure it hasent been modded and beat to death.
A performance-ish RWD car could be trouble for a younger driver, but thats about the only negative.

Looking at a 2006 350z for my kid, any inputs?
How old is the kid?
Smoking deal for anyone looking to upgrade!
I will list everything you get (which is a lot of stuff). 2 complete exhaust, 1 cold air box, and 1 complete turbo system.
Check back here in the next few hours and by then I will have all of it listed with good pictures.
I just want to get everyones attention and see if someone is in the market for a nice system....
Ive sent you a couple messages about this setup weeks ago but never got at response?
@Bill from Hahn RaceCraft may I ask how often would I have to be adjusting the doubles to require the spring bearings?
The bearings have nothing to do with the double adjustable feature.
The spring bearings are for the height adjustment...making it easier to raise and lower if its something your adjusting frequently.
13 sets sir I've got mine with the faster red spring on order as well. I sold a kidney for this but I'm hearing I will be a much happier person.

Kidneys are over rated anyway...
Ok easy enough, thank you!
Does anyone have a CAI laying around they arnt using??
Hey guys -
Quick question....is there and CAI system that can be used on both NA and a turbo setup? I'd like to go turbo down the road but going to stay NA for a bit. Wanted to see if there was one that worked on both setups.
Thanks!
I think another factor is the wider the tire the more the weight of the SS is spread out on it. Where the cut off is of how wide before you begin to have not enough weight on the tire who knows.
Until you take the same SS, on the same day, and change tires out and measure the results I think its all up for debate.
I personally like the look of a 345 rear and going in that direction.
34 here...
@Andy Hatch I suck at explaining the physics of it, but in lamens terms the much smaller side wall causes the tire to spin easier.
I was hoping by going to a 345 I would have increased traction...
I don't have any burning rubber smells....but that's what lubes for right?

I never ran mine with the stock intake so I cant' speak to that but I have a similar issue. When I was in the break-in period I was getting 28-29 mpg with the Alpha CAI. After the break-in the mileage dropped to 25-26. After putting the side-exit exhaust on I'm down to 22-23 and I often notice the smell of burning rubber, which I traced with my nose to the rear tire. Could be the same thing...Anyone?

Lick it before you stick it!
Display MoreIf I did it all over again, I would do the below. This tire combo is the best in my opinion; especially if you want a fat rear tire.
Fronts - Toyo T1R 255/35/19
Rear - Toyo T1R 345/25/20
Tire Website
Wheels options from - http://www.getyourwheels.com/wheels
Forgestar - Forgestar Wheels - 19x9 fronts at as close as you can get to a 42mm offset and 20x12 rear at a 45mm offset
Rohana - Rohana Wheels - same sizes as above
XO Luxury Wheels - XO Wheels - same sizes as above
Any way you look at it, if you want bigger than 305, it is going to cost quite a bit more money. On 345 options, it is no brainer because only 1 tire really works.
I list this as the "best" option in my opinion because...
- fattest rear tire you can get
- all tires are directional tread
- offsets and rolling diameters are right, so rubs wont happen and nanny lights stay off
- these are a good sticky summer tire with decent wet traction
- Wheels are the most affordable at the correct offsets
Just priced out a set from the links I gave and you will be around $2,000 for a set as shown above.
I have that same front and rear tire size on order in bronze burst forgestar c5fv's
Nice looking SS! The white is my fav one.
Display MoreHi all! So it took me 3 years to finally jump into a SS. Health issues and lack of a turbo version were the main issues, but when I saw the midnight cherry color, just had to pull the trigger. Name is Todd and live outside of Albany NY. For me, it's about the speed, tunes and having fun. First week I had the thing I ended up passing an off duty officer who asked me "do you think it was a good idea to pass me when I was going the speed limit"... all I could say is "well, at the time I did...". Still can't believe he let me go, but what the hell, I'm not arguing with an officer who CLEARLY thought I was in the right!
Upgrades... well, threw the horn out within 24 hours of me getting the thing and switch over to the largest air horn I could find. Wired a secondary 1600watt (max) amplifier into the stock stereo and added two 10" subs and 2 more sets of 6.5 Kicker marine grade speakers to it all with LED's. Also did my own underglow kit in the front and created my own brackets for wheel well LED's as well. Figured with all that, they can hear and see me coming and yet still almost get run over with people whipping out their cell phones to get a picture as we go by.
So brings me to primary reason for me joining this group! I need more speed and want to do it right. Hopefully learn from others mistakes.
So any stats on turbo and supercharger numbers are MUCH appreciated. I also wanted to see if anyone has ever tried putting a 20 inch wheel on the front that is 255mm wide (10 inches)? If my math is correct, it can be done with the wheel sticking 0.5 inches farther out the sides, but worry about the width of the tire making the steering a bit too stiff. Thoughts? Inside looks like I have 1.5 inches of clearance from the stock sway bar, so if I steel an inch... maybe... What I do have coming in is a 12 inch wheel for the back that I can get a 315mm drag tire on it (was thinking of the Nitto NT05F). After that, new shocks and hopefully ready to start doing some engine work!
Hey SaltyClownNY!
I work in Albany and live outside Albany as well. If you ever want to get together for a ride let me know!
I would like to take a moment to thank @av8ingtom for the 1320 exhaust that @Goats_Hogs paid it forward to myself that will soon be be making it onto my slingshot (pictures soon to come). Ive been on a lot of different forums over the years and have never found a place quite like this one! I have my reservation booked for Maggie Valley and I hope I will be meeting a lot of you great people there.
Happy Birthday!!!!
