couple for me!

'Mator likes the Sling!

well, that sucks out loud. I'll keep an eye on the weather. Might end up heading west then! Thank you sir!

Planning on a little road trip next weekend (fall break for us!) and headed to the Talimena drive. Do any of my fellow Slingers here have any experience in that area? Where's a good place to spend the night? How about food recommendations? How are the tree colors in Arkansas looking? I know....lot's of questions, but I've been pretty busy since Eureka and I'm getting excited about getting a chance to hit the road again!

Early in my ownership (2+ years now), @hrmiracle advised me that the best mod is no mod.
I've stuck to that, and so missed all of your excitement. Madstad windshield, was necessary and delightful as I bought a base. Recently, my wife insisted on floor mats, and some pin-striping. No biggie.
Nice to see the dramatic increase in vendor support, but can't say I follow it too closely. Most in my area are getting boosted, with the DDM supercharger being the fashion of the moment. For me, zzz. Tops, led lighting, air ride, performance shocks, cai, PRP seats, air ride, fat tires, hmm. Zzz.
Might pick up some MeanSling roll bar bags. Extra storage would be nice for overnight trips with my bride, and not too much $$$.
Next planned mod, is to put gas in the beast, and possibly wash it.
Disclaimer: I am a young guy too, at least in my mind. I just act like an old fart.
Many years ago, we used to race sprint cars so I'm very familiar to purchasing HIGH performance parts. I'll probably end up pulling the trigger sooner or later on a few mods, but these prices are killing me! You can throw a pretty strong 350 together at a fairly reasonable price, and I realize the Sling is a new vehicle, but damn...these prices are a little nuts. Especially for a Chevy 4 cyl.! Right now, the wife and I are just enjoying the ride. I did, however, put on some pretty cool valve stem caps!

I use spit. Lots and lots of spit. It is all natural.
Just don't try that after drinking chocolate milk!

Does TopCoat F11 attract dust? Is it really worth the price? I've never used it so I really don't know. I know many times I have bought high dollar items only to think "meh" after I used it the first time. I like the dry look as well and I have always hated Armor All. I've always been a fan of Turtle Wax ICE, but I'm really curious about F11.

@Goats_Hogs, you and I are the same age and so are our wives, but we've only been married for 30 years. It would have been cool to watch my wife grow pubes. Wait, can I say that on the air?
OMG that's funny!!!! I'm 49, wife is 47 and we've been married 27 after dating for 6 years. Yep....high school sweethearts!

Home safe and sound. Even though we were only there yesterday, it was a great experience. Will certainly be there next year! Great meeting everyone and seeing everyone's machines. Now, time to start ordering some parts!
-
we'll be rolling in tomorrow morning. Ready to meet everyone and see what this is all about!
-
Saturday morning....LOL
-
Did you check the fuse.
yep. Started there. Tech at the dealership said he's seen a couple of these modules go bad before.
-
I'll check the grounding tonight. It's kind of a booger to get to. I'll look at dropping the plastic and come in from the bottom.
Called my dealership (Shawnee Honda/Polaris) and the part is on backorder and they won't be able to look at it until 10/4. We also had a funny discussion as to why the radio antenna is tied into a brake light! LOL
-
Here's what I found....fin light plugs into "BLA Module" part #4016187.
No voltage leaving the module (going to light bar) regardless if the brake is applied or not. 0 volts.
On the input side of the module, I have 2.5 VDC going in when the switch is turned on, and when I touch the brakes I have 12VDC going in. So....my guess is the module. Get back in here and look on the computer and wow! Somehow this is also some sort of antenna thing for the radio! List price is $121.29!!!!
As bad as I hate to, gotta go back to the dealer for warranty work. Hopefully they will have this module in stock so it won't be a "leave it here and we'll call you when we're done" type deal!

ANTENNA-SS, BRAKE LIGHT -
have you done any mods to the light?
Nope. I do have brake lights on the sides, just the fin not working. Fixing to get in the garage and start checking voltages.
-
Just noticed that the brake light on the back fin no longer lights up. Don't know how long it's been out. I'll be looking into it tonight, but has this been a problem and does anyone have any ideas? If it's serious, it would be warranty work, but my dealer is over an hour away so if it's a quick fix, I'd rather do it myself. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

boy....this thread with South in a hurry! LOL
-
....the ultimate souvenir for being there!

Where do you keep your Pike Pass in the SS? I used double sided tape and stuck it to the bottom of the dash inside the glove box, but it was never picked up going through the turnpike gates. I've spoke to several of my biker friends and they keep theirs in their saddle bags and never have an issue. I'm NOT sticking that albatross to my windshield. Any thoughts?
