Amazing how fragile the supply chain is. Incoming containers are sitting outside ports waiting to get in, suppliers send what they want, buyers can only take what is sent, and as consumers we can only buy what is available.

Long live the creative and courageous entrepreneurs that make it happen.

Shout out to EjFord for gifting Donna and me with a Guardian Bell at Maggie Valley.

Thanks much, we appreciate the thought and the story behind the bell. No evil spirits followed us home!

since we are going all nostalgic…

Had to have the baddest bike on the block …

Then ya got a little older and along came the disco days - leisure suits and platform shoes!! How many of you guys are guilty of ever wearing the fashion disasters :00008172:

We didn't use playing cards, used baseball cards, probably tore up $10k (today) worth of old cards on a $5 bike.

And clearly the picture was staged by a millenial. You didn't put the clothespins ON the spokes, you clipped the card and clothespin to the fender supports so they fluttered over the spokes.

    Kidz these days know nuttin.

They did not even know how Slings were in the parade, seems to be a large difference in the numbers.;(

They announced 276 lined up inside the park, but the cop at Ghost Town counted 400. Seems many folks joined parade on the road, but didn't pay to get into the fairgrounds. Heard and saw many that didn't pay registration that enjoyed the event anyway.

A quick mod today.... After driving round trip to Maggie Valley with double bubble windshields, I didn't enjoy the headbanging our helmets took from the wind. I-75 was very windy. Stock ripper from the SL wasn't much better after putting that back on.

EjFord gave us a ride in his sling, with F4 Custom +5, I kinda liked it, but thought +3 might be better. EXTREMELY fortunate that F4 moved into my local area, so went by and saw Don this morning. Tried a +3, but the top almost perfectly split my vision, good for the shorter co-pilot, but I couldn't drive with it. F4 standard was too short, so I ended up buying the +5.

Drove it home on I-75, and cabin was much quieter, and our hats didn't move at all. Windshield perfectly clear, great vision thru the plastic.

Very pleased, really appreciate the time Don spent giving me the different options available.

Great service F4 Customs happy camper. The Baker wings are on order to create a little more air flow.

The hood vent Dave@DDMWorks installed will move some engine heat as well. Planning another road trip already.

    Thanks all.

BTW They are going to repair my Sling to the tune of $4800.00.The Swing arm is bent the wheel is cracked and the tire is damaged and so is the fender. All the Items mentioned will be replaced The frame is not damaged. I should have it back in 2 or 3 weeks

Well I just had a brake failure light come on while driving the other day. When I restarted the SS it was gone for a while but it keeps coming back.

I called my dealer about having it looked at, only to be told they could not book me in before 15 July!

    6 weeks? Yikes

After draining the angle drive and reinstalling the drain plug, try positioning the Slingshot so the driver's side is a little higher than the passenger side. I used jack-stands that were set a little higher on the driver's side compared to the passenger side. That will allow you to slightly overfill the angle drive and should help ensure you don't end up with an under-filled angle drive. Don't ask me how I learned this!

    Good idea, thanks

Thankfully I did catch it before putting too many miles on it. Only a few errand runs around town before I drained it today.

That and knowing how much it holds will give me clues going forward.

    Thanks all for the input.

Did you drain it previously or was it drained at the dealer?

Another thing to keep in mine is the drain for the angle drive does not sit at the very bottom, just close to it, so there might be sold old oil in there.

Not at the dealer, I change it every oil change. Apparently operator error, drained and refilled again, seems to have taken about 20 ounces second time. Guess I got some 'backwash' out of the fill hole and stopped filling to soon last week. Seemed a little noisy, so I was double checking when I drained the 12 oz. today. Previous drains have been into oil pan with used oil, so I never knew how much was draining. Today used a paint mixing cup to catch the drain, and it gave me 12 oz level.

    Think I am good now.

Just drained my angle drive, preparing for trip to MV. My owners manual says angle holds 23.7 ounces 85-90w gear oil.

Only 12 oz drained out, it was supposedly 'full' starting to run out the fill hole.

Is some of the oil elsewhere in the drive, so it doesn't drain? Last time I filled it I used less than a quart but I didn't measure.

I know I didn't have a leak anywhere, just wondering why the drain amount was about half of the 'capacity' listed in the manual.

    Thanks in advance.
