Well, the unexpected happened. Our enclosed trailer was stolen from a secure storage facility, it was properly secured as well and it occurred within 24 hrs of being parked between loading. I figured I'd share our experience for those who are considering purchasing a trailer and may be unfortunate enough to go through this type of negative event.

As we returned to our trailer spot the following day, I was on the phone with the property manager in regards to placing one of my classic truck projects temporary on the property between blasting and body work. As my wife pulled up to the slot, my heart sank seeing an empty space. I asked the property manager where our trailer was out of shock, she relayed in shock and disbelief "it's gone?" I immediately notified the local police department and an officer was sent out. He didn't seem to concern and relayed to me that trailer thefts were on the rise and storage units were prime pickings. Wow, wish I had known before hand *sigh*. Received a theft report, and proceeded to notify our insurance company.

Trailer stolen on the 22 or 23rd of May (theft discovered on the 23rd and reported), trailer found in a subdivision in a different city on the 25th of May 2018 but we were not notified. Left church on the 27th of May and later received a phone call that it was recovered with a number to call for information. Attempted to call but was informed it was a holiday weekend to call back on Tuesday the 29th of May 2018 to receive any information about the case. No information received until original Police Department informed us on the 30th to recover trailer with $303 fee from tow yard, along with a few other negative remarks. Sadly, the trailer was emptied of 95% of everything of value. The value of items taken continues to rise. Someone has a set of SS wheels, double bubble screens, panels, power tools, and so much more.

NOW..the reason I post is to try and help other forum members that may be hauling items and take it for granted that it is only a 24hr trip or less. Please keep an inventory of your enclosed trailer contents. From every tool, to every blanket, tow strap, etc. Make sure that you understand your insurance coverages if you have changed agents or had policy updates or changes. Your trailer may be covered on it's own policy, or on the policy of your tow vehicle. NOW, think about the coverage of the contents that you carry, if you're not careful they may only be covered under your homeowner's policy (or renter's policy) if you don't carefully specify this when purchasing a policy. This could have you filing a claim two routes if not careful. I have owned this particular trailer since 2012 without incident. I'd prefer to have all of our possessions back, as some were really special and were only going into our storage temporary as we did some remodeling. The plans that I had for powder coating my extra wheels and taking notes from STYLN and others who'd posted in the DIY may have been wasted at this point on those wheels..but I have the knowledge they shared.

I will be dropping the trailer off for repair, hopefully, tomorrow and perhaps it won't be totaled out with the damaged that was done. With all things good and bad that happen I know that God has a plan. Yet I'm still human and can't stand a "THIEF"!

Mods on hold for a bit but we'll recover from this loss as we always do. I hope this thread can help someone else who may need a little reminder when seeking policy coverages...trust me, there's not much more I could do in the department of security. I'm thinking about seeing if the hitch lock company will pay the $10k they advertise LOL

@MADDMOE thanks...in my haste in replying while on the cell I should have been a bit more careful. Normally anything 2ohms would be definitely a subwoofer load at quick glance...with the SS 4-8ohm would be what I'd think the stock speakers were without measuring them as I have yet to do so. If you have 4 stock speakers running at 2ohm...talk about overheating and shutting down...hence why they are normally 4ohm or higher. With the home speakers vs car audio..people have run home audio components in car audio setups and it's worked but I wouldn't say it's been the best sounding setup. I think people tend to forget when we start to talk about ohms we're talking about impedance...than we have to think about the magnet sizes of the speakers and so many other things that can contribute..as well as the amplifier in the setup. As I tend to type too much I tired giving a short answer..and with this response I feel as if I should be typing like two more pages lol I won't say that the cubes won't work, I'm curious as to how they'd sound from standing to highway speeds...from hot..rain..to cold conditions over time. As stated before I hope someone who's possibly has some real world experience pops in with this setup because I'm always open to new ideas. Heck, I'm thinking about pulling my current speakers on my golf cart to see how the Bose cube sound :D

I like the unconventional thinking and use of the Bose cube speakers but you may run into a problem without someone suggesting the appropriate amplifier. I'm pretty sure the SS stock speakers are 4ohm but I'm always subject to being wrong. That's your mismatch...I'm not saying that it can't be done, you will probably sacrifice a bit as they are not built for open air, let alone to be played for great sound at +45mph speeds. I'd never considered repurposing these to run in my golf cart and now I'm actually curious....

Either way, I hope someone pops in to give you some real world experience and guidance. Good luck on the mod and I hope it works out for you.

Taking a life is....WRONG. Allowing the environment to exist where it may occur thinking it will work it's way out--well, we've seen the result of that lately. If we know that bullying is a problem..just stop it. It is all too easy for the weak who are bullied to pick up a gun and level the playing field these days. Not only will they kill the one, or group of people who are bullying them; they will kill those who have watched, those who allowed it to exist in their minds and innocent bystanders. If you want to exert your strength, do it on an athletic field of play. Parents who know their children are bullies are part of the problem? If they allow their child to be the bully and their child bullies a child who snaps and shoots up the school killing ten or more...well, there are so many issues to address to prevent further mass school shootings.

We definitely as a nation need to invest in prevention. Whether it's a teen spurned by a girl, bullied, failing a grade, inability to make friends--whatever the reason that triggers this horrific event needs to be addressed. We are losing perhaps the next generations brightest doctors, attorneys, engineers, actors, generals and/or president. We will never know because so many school shootings are taking place. We can all agree that safety of all children pursuing an education should be a top priority.

Kids don't know about knocking a stick off a person's shoulder lol or meeting on the RR tracks...all of these things were seen as really bad...now look at the alternative *sigh*

Apparently for USA Today explosives and guns count as "less lethal" than an AR-15.

USA Today Praises School Shooter's Use Of 'Less Lethal Weapons' To Kill 10 - Blue Lives Matter

@sideseatdriver thanks for posting..I disliked not because you posted but because of the content of the USA Today article. I wish that I could take the author of the article to a firing range to help them see the error of printing that rubbish. In a school, at close range, a shotgun could be the most lethal weapon a shooter could ever need versus any semi-AR. Along with the chosen side arm of the student...it wasn't worse perhaps because of experience with the firearms? Perhaps that would should have been stated versus the "less lethal".

@Bill Martin if I am correct I believe Texas can hold parents criminally negligent when they do not secure firearms and they are used in this manner. I've watched the local DA's file cases within the last year in similar situations. I'm not sure of the outcome..if they were pleaded down, dismissed or a slam dunk! It does make responsible firearm owners with minor children in the home really secure and account for all their firearms.

I know this may be a bit off topic but here goes. When I was a child/teenager, I knew where my parents kept their pistols, shotguns, long rifles and ammunition. Sure there were some down days as a teen but I never entertained the idea of grabbing a firearm and going after a room of classmates for revenge. My mom would always insist that I live by the Golden Rule and I did. She said for those who did not, God had a way of turning the tables when they least expected--God and time were equalizers. The idea of taking "a" life in war requires one to think as you travel in the plane heading to your destination...you think about your oath to your country, you think that the person in front of you will be trying to take your life, so it is a must that you make a decision to protect your life, your battle buddies life, your company..so that you can all return home. HOW??? HOW??? CAN A TEENAGER get to the point of making this kind of decision??? Life is so fragile, precious and has so many secrets yet to be revealed. Killing anyone, to include one's self could rob you of some of God's greatest gifts and plans He has in store for you and those around you--that you wish to do harm in your classrooms. I wish that I could just go from school to school and speak to every grade level of children asking them to place a higher value on life. Giving them more resources that will help them become more accountable for their own actions. I don't want to help them make excuses--EMPOWER THEM TO ACCEPT THEIR CHOICES GOOD OR BAD, TO LEARN THAT ALL DECISIONS CARRY WEIGHT, SOME MORESO THAN OTHERS. Introduce them to God, a higher power...so that they begin to understand what grace, unconditional love, redemption and so much more is available to them. Create a bridge from the home, to the school, to the appropriate agencies. I don't want to cripple our children but build them UP! We need young men and women who are willing to accept that their actions whether good or bad have consequences. They need to understand that they will be held accountable. It's time to sound the alarm before we slip further and further to more school shooting abyss...

If you take a life..sadly your life will be taken just as quickly...it's often referred to as "justice".

Sorry for the rant! With this happening around the corner from where I grew up, where I marched through the streets for Memorial Day Parades for the local VFW as a high school kid...it really does suck

wow @MiM!! What a beautiful family! Nice photo from the SA Zoo it appears!! Trust me, my family knows that place well having been contributing members for what seems like forever!! Congratulations on the new place!! So very happy for you and those beautiful ladies! I don't envy you at all!! LOL SHOTGUN SHOTGUN..DID I MENTION SHOTGUNS?? LOL Send up the Polaris Slingshot signal and we'll respond with a Sling parade if I'm healthy and at full strength LOL

Wow...we went to "brother". Making that assumption with the context with how "I may, or may have used it" to expand ....naah never mind, I can't chase that rabbit hole tonight LOL I think you have proved my point @sideseatdriver. You made a magical leap that left your initial disclaimer like a lame duck Congressional session lol

FYI as a child you have an innocent misinterpretation of what is to be a kiss. As an informed teenager, young adult...you know what is right and what is wrong. Yes, it is all sexual assault. No blurred lines. See, when one country singer sings about receiving a note to "check yes or no", that was the green light.

Yes, these conversations are meant to be had over a glass of a person's favorite beverage..I'll take water, tea... All too often in this age we spend time connecting over keyboards and keystrokes...well, they just create more problems. At the end of the day, despite some of the craziest things I see members type and thirty likes go up immediately--I have to remember that they are entitled to how they feel.

LOL I can't help but laugh as these post continue to go higher and higher as @Bill Martin recovers in front of his television missing his coveted daily doses of fine cigars and "fine tea".

"particularly for those who suffer from the stigma and privilege of being white and identifying as male." Wow..now this is where words really count right? I'll have to think about this one for a bit..not sure how the male skittles feel about not being white and how that statement may affect them.

Whether it's Bill, Barack, George or Donald...they will carry some political baggage we can agree?? To pretend to be blind to the facts don't make them not exist..i.e. "Trump may have lied and may have covered up...." don't change the narrative. As with all who are POTUS, they will be judged on their time in office. You can't start on Monday screaming for ethical and moral standards but change them on Wednesday to fit how you need your week to end..IMHO.

In my days...if a woman wanted you to kiss her, you knew it and you weren't being slapped. If she slapped you and hated you--you'd crossed the line...some men never grew out of crossing the line. They just became better at hiding their predatory nature.

Politics suck..bullying by numbers suck..people who close their minds without the desire to see the validity in an argument--well...only they know.

Happy Mother's Day to all those amazing moms on the forums. I pray that you're able to watch over and bless your families, as God does for us all.

LOL WOW...I must be a little slow on the uptake from being sick smh LOL I thought the Pre-order $2 off meant that they were already discounted LOL The notification of your recent post just made me realize that "PreOrder$2.00off" was the code we were meant to use when ordering LOL

thank you sir, but I'm out, for me, it's like saying I've been there done that. I'm not saying it's wrong or trying to discourage anyone from the posse shirts. I think everyone who has one will represent the posse very well. I plan on riding with the posse at a later date and will get a shirt or two at that time, if available. Thanks again sir, stay saf

....it would truly be a t-shirt I couldn't wear until I'm a true rider. Thanks @Shatneyman for shaking me back to reality. Out of my respect for Painter I'm withdrawing my request but please don't let this affect anyone else's decision.

Thanks for the recommendations. I will take one to the local hardware store and size the ones I need. Then look to order them online. Seems we have crappy offerings of fasteners in this city. No OSH or ACE in this town.

@2W2X1 wish I'd seen this sooner but there's a ACE and a Fastenal on the NE Side on Topperwein outside of RAFB. The ACE is a couple of blocks outside of the gate and Fastenal is couple of miles outside of the gate near NAPA. I didn't google to see what's on your side of town though.
