I started late in life with this old 1953 Swiss military Condor A580
My wife hated it because it was slow, and unreliable. The SS allowed for more comfort, reliability and speed.

Yellowstone National Park - the Gardiner MT entrance [the only entrance to Yellowstone that is open all year] .... I'm jealous of this photo too - That is part of the Roosevelt Arch - Constructed under the supervision of the Army at Fort Yellowstone - the cornerstone was laid by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1903. The top of the arch is inscribed with a quote from the Organic Act of 1872, the legislation which created Yellowstone, which reads: "For the Benefit and Enjoyment of the People" [from Wikipedia]
What Ross said. Although I knew where I was I did not know the rest

...thanks , I had wanted to know what the center brace looks like and where does it mount to BUT on their website I see they have a new one with sliding panels , so I reach out them to see if they made a video with that one being used....
That is the stingray roof. It mounts of the top center of the dash, where your rear view mirror is mounted.

My long term average running stock (with F4 +5) was 28.7mpg. I added a CAI and 1320 header shortly before leaving for SSITR (approx 3,000 miles return), my average is now showing 29.8mpg. Of course if heat increases the mileage, that might account for this as it was very hot the whole trip.

Some great posts Paul, thanks.

You guys need to over throw your government so you can have some fun.
I think US laws are a little worse. For example, you cannot import 15 year old foreign cars without issue, they must be 20 years old. However I am all for getting rid of our current government.

Can you buy in the U.S. and install the camera before registering in Canada?
This gets problematic. Before importing a vehicle into Canada, it has to meet Canadian standards unless it is more than 15 years old. This means that all Canadian modifications would have to be done prior to import and inspection. We have different lights, a seat bell chime, and likely a few other requiements other than the back up camera. I am willing to bet that the cost of all this would be greater than the price of the SL upgrade.

At the Sundre Slingfest, slingshot garage led an entourage of 26 or so Slingshots up to Banff park. At the parking lot, as we exited, a lamborghini huracan drove in. I don't think the driver had ever been so thoroughly ignored. Every tourist with a camera was following our parade.

Great meeting you guys in Sundre, I hope you continue to have a safe and obviously fun trip.

Thanks for the info, but that double din is not waterproof. In fact, Sony's warranty on the XAV-AX100 specifically excludes "outdoor exposure" or "liquid".
That being said, yes, there are lots of double din units out there with 6 or 7" screens, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, etc. Figure out what you want and then find a unit that has it. Any of the name brand stuff will (should) be pretty decent: Sony, Kenwood, Pioneer, etc. If it sounds too cheap, it probably is.
But that kit does include the Scosche mount and wire harness I used (about $75). WELL worth the money for installing a double din in the SlingShot, but it is not waterproof.
I saw that too, but the seller is offering a 1 year warranty against water damage. I guess I am looking for some feedback on what models have better reputations for durability when mounted in a Slingshot. You are right that there are lots of options, and that is what makes deciding so difficult.

I am looking for options too. There are new products out there, but reviews are hard to find.
Here is a Sony waterproof DDIN kit: SLINGSHOT POLARIS + SONY XAV-AX100 APPLE CARPLAY + ANDROID AUTO + DOUBLE DIN KIT | eBayAnyone tried it?

Absolutely. We will be putting on lots of miles this month.

We are leaving Calgary tomorrow to attend. Really looking forward to the trip down through some great scenery.

Yes Scosche does provide an excellent set of instructions!
Are they posted anywhere? I would really like to see how big a project the installation will be. My skills are limited.
