    Thoughts and prayers to all the victims of yet another maniac killing as many people as he can before taking the cowards way out by suicide. In a horrific event this large I hope it does not touch the lives of any of the forum loved ones or friends but it very well could. Just breaks my heart every time this happens but mentally unstable people do evil things. I am glad the asshole shooter is dead - I could give a crap about all the media wondering WHY WHY WHY - main thing the SOB can't kill anymore innocent people enjoying a concert.

    Well I am 61 (110 in lawyer years) and my bride is 50 (late model high mileage :00008172: ) and we been married 33 years. First 32 were kinda rocky but I'm startin to think we might make it :00008356:

    I was one of those charismatic sweet talkers for many, many years! I was paid handsomely for it, however the stress nearly killed me. @Neosolidus is very correct on his statement. The law transformed over the years where justice is not about true justice anymore. Justice is a purchased commodity based on who can afford the slickest lawyer with the most legal network connections. I still believe in people being responsible for their own actions, frivolous lawsuits should be summarily thrown out of court, and if you kill somebody - the court kills you. All these beliefs basically make me a dinosaur and led me to early retirement. As far as a lawsuit - SURE - anybody can sue for anything the days - no matter how stupid - the only thing I really liked and miss was .......BILLABLE HOURS :00008172:

    imma be lookin for ya

    Okay... Not to be the downer of the group, but none of us bought the sling because of its IIHS safety ratings. Some of us bought it because it's safER than a motorcycle, but that's the only way id put the sling and safe in the same sentence. Some of us do what we can to mitigate the risks, and others of us push the envelope. Either way we are at risk.

    That said, I could slip on my tile floor getting out of the shower, have a heart attack, or have an aneurism too, so might as well enjoy life while you're at it.

    Get the gov't too involved, and pretty soon, there is going to be a requirement for airbags, doors, and 20pt harnesses, otherwise they'll not be legal.

    Only way government can do that is to create a classification solely for Slingshots because all sold classified as a motorcycle could not be retroactively ordered to reinvent the wheel. Going forward if they required Slingshots to adhere to auto safety regulations Polaris would more than likely cease production as plant retooling and redesign costs would cause retail prices to soar - killing their target market. JMHO !!

    Not to add insult to injury but:
    Ford=Found On Roadside Dead

    All joking aside, holla if y'all need a ride or somewhere to stay. Can be there in about 2.5 hours.

    Appreciate the offer but they had me back on the road in 1 hr 17 minutes. You ask how ?? Service writer said he might be able to get on it first thing in the morning. I said "you sleeping on your couch or me - what's for supper?? He somehow found a way- imagine that :00008172::00008172:

    Maybe we should tag @Bill Martin and get his input on this since he might have a perspective that we lack.

    Legally if Cycle Springs profited from the sale of the merchandise purchased thru Slingshotonly they would ultimately be responsible for replacement or repair. Adversely if Slingshotonly was a separate entity that was sold off to a third party - then your only recourse would be whatever manufacturer warranty available if the new owner declines warranty issues. Only other move is to file suit in small claims court. Wish I could give better news cause these issues always suck for the consumer !!

    I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume @Zorasmiles that you are an African American. Your treatment at the BMW dealership is inexcusable and just another instance where race relations still have a long way to go in our country. I cannot begin to say I know how you feel in that situation but it has to be very disturbing. I do on the other hand take issue with the LEO "head bashing". While I do not know the circumstances of your brush with the law causing your scar I do know a lot of the issues today are caused by the public - not LEO. My good friend @thesabrerattler has 30+ years in law enforcement and myself the same in law. In our lengthy discussions sipping bourbon and solving world problems we came to a couple conclusions that would greatly reduce tensions between society and LEO. Cops (for the most part - nothing is absolute) are out for the well being of the public and are not looking to "bash somebody's head in" when they go to work everyday - they want all of us to be safe and for themselves to do the same. How is that accomplished ?? When LEO gives you a command whether you agree or vehemently disagree - OBEY - live to voice your grievances another day!! Just think about many of the high profile cases whereby the individual would still be with us if they just yielded to the officer's command. We all need to use common sense and apply the Golden Rule whenever possible.
