Ah. I'm with you. I've had to decide between the two on that factor as well. I will say from my experience slingmods is usually pretty accurate on their eta.

Assuming that valve is in the open position does that little black clip lock it down into position once it's in that little groove? I agree with all the reasons it's getting praise I guess I too just have that thought in my head that if it somehow came open in the middle of riding how bad that would be.

Ya know I've always wondered from being up in the smokies so often how they build some of those cabins. I've made some climbs where a car seemed sketchy. More power to ya. I guess you motivated me to find a way to build my Wife's barn on level ground and quit making excuses.

Just cause I've never dressed up an engine with something like these. Do you just remove one bolt at a time and then put new one in back to factory spec and no issue if one at a time with seal etc...? Thanks guys!

Hmmm... I agree. Got my attention. I swapped everything out with stainless hardware already but I'd consider this set.

I'm sure they would have a lot more experience picking it out on someone passing by than I would. But I've never heard of someone with a helmet getting questioned while stopped and made to prove if it was dot approved or not either. I know the novelty helmets I was looking at when I first started out in the slingshot sat really really low. That's what attracted me to them but also may be what makes them noticeable passing by. I don't like the mushroom top look of the half shell(among other things but mainly focusing on looks for this conversation). I think what I have now is a skid lid which when I was looking was advertised as the most low profile available and still meet dot standards. Now the motorcycle cops seem to stop me more than anyone so I would think they would naturally pick it out quicker than an officer not accustomed to bikes but again just my assumptions.
I know here where the debate rages on whether you do or do not have to wear a helmet I have had this exact conversation with the multiple leo's that have pulled me over. After those conversations I would not have a novelty helmet with me at any point. I choose not to wear a helmet here but I do keep one with me incase I'm pulled over and the officer feels differently. I've never been ticketed the multiple times I've been stopped because I'm respectful and we spend more time discussing the slingshot. However during those discussions they told me they have stopped people before with non dot helmets. Each one has told me that an individual would get in a lot more trouble for having a novelty helmet on than no helmet at all. So for that reason I've never even considered getting a novelty helmet. I'd rather just be honest with my stance than to chance getting pulled over and trying to seem like I was trying to get one over on law enforcement.

Sanibel... My Wife's Grandmother owned a home on Sanibel for years when my Wife was growing up. Spent almost every summer there. I've heard it's a beautiful area, or was.
Anytime I've taken the kids to the beach they like to get up before sunrise and walk the shore for seashells. They find a handful of quarter size shells and are delighted. I've always read that something about how Sanibel island sits from east to west that it catches a ton of the massive seashells each morning. Thought it would be neat to stay one night and try it.
Thank you for that info. Never heard of fast cat or traveling by boat other than cruise ship. Visiting Sanibel Island has been on the to do list for years. You may have just given me a way to take out 2 birds with one stone.

Ah! Never seen one of those. Guess that's why they mail me the tickets once I make it back home to Tennessee.
I will say year before last we had the thought to ride from Nashville down to Florida and take A1A down to the keys. While we didn't get to take our own, we did end up flying down to Miami for the weekend, renting a pair of Slingshots and riding down to key west for the day. While the path down is not eventful with turns and routes it's still enjoyable and even more so in a Slingshot.
