The chicken pox vaccine is 82% after one dose and pre trial showed 2 doses at 98%, but post trial this dropped to 92% - - - - these numbers are very similar to the pre trial and post trial numbers for the Pfizer covid vaccine against the Alpha variant - - unfortunately unlike chicken pox covid has been allowed to mutate in the people it infects creating new variations where the numbers drop off - -but even then remain higher than the flu vaccine which also mutates

The polio vaccine is 90% effective after 2 doses but with a third booster gets to almost 100% - - - again numbers very close to what we are seeing with Pfizers covid vaccine - - but again remember polio does not mutate which means the polio vaccine has an advantage - Also remember that in the early stages the polio vaccine actually cause paralysis in a good number of people.

The TB vaccine that is currently used around the world is an not nearly as good as the above - at best it is about 71% effective but some studies show it is as low as 20% - - so far the Pfizer Covid vaccine is looking much much better

Now lets look at the mumps MMR vaccine - its effectiveness ranges from 32% to as high as 95% with an average around 88%

So clearly anyone who at this point thinks the Pfizer vaccine is any less effective that other vaccines is totally wrong or they haven't taken the time to actually do any research - - in the end the one thing that so far is holding as being true is that the Covid vaccine is extremely effective at preventing serious illness and most importantly death - - at this point real world numbers are showing you are 29 times more likely to die from covid if you get in and are not vaccinated that if you get it and have been given the Pfizer vaccine

In the end no vaccine is even close to being perfect and if you are using not being 100% effective as your reason not to be vaccinated please just know that in making that choice you are dramatically increasing your chances of serious illness or even death

In the end there are only 2 ways to get any immunity to the covid virus - the first is to actually get the virus and hopefully survive and the second is to get the vaccine - the choice is yours

Also please keep in mind that the longer it takes for the country to reach herd immunity, with enough people having immunity so that like many viruses before it we dont really have to think about it much, the longer it takes the more chances it will have to mutate and possible become even more deadly

As I have said before, I wish everyone would get vaccinated, I want this thing to be over and for mutations to stop, But I also respect that you have the right to choose not to get vaccinated, I only have one request - - please make your choice with real information and not the crap you hear on talk radio or conspiracy sites - - - 29% more likely to die - - that's a pretty big risk to take because you you blindly believed something without actually checking the information for yourself

Wife and I took about a 190 - 200 mile drive down around the Salton Sea and back home. Stopped at Salvation Mountain on the way down just to check it out - - - kind of an interesting place especially considering it is out in the middle of no where - It was actually a very good drive, we went that direction because we knew it would be free of any holiday traffic - - like I said not much out there except desert and farm land

got the shingles vaccine a few years back - - last time I was at my doctors I was told they now have a better more effective vaccine and it was suggested get it - at the time I said lets do it on my next visit but due to covid my last two appointments were done virtually so still haven't gotten the new shingles shot

Yep - when I was a kid parents did the same thing, when one of the kids in the neighborhood got chicken pox or mumps or measles parents would arrange for all the friends to get together and get it over with. On the other hand with Polio it was very different for that one our parents lined us up at a mass vaccination event at Santa Anita race track, which is in Arcadia where I grew up, where we were all given the oral vaccine on a sugar cube. these mass vaccination events also ended up getting the country to herd immunity and for all practical purposes eliminated Polio from the country - - and yes just like now it was not a 100% proven vaccine, in fact these days the oral polio vaccine is no longer even used the United States because it uses a weakened version of the Poliovirus that has been known to cause paralysis in too many cases. These days only the injectable version that uses a completely inactive version of the Poliovirus is used here although many other counties still use both

So us kids back in the 50's were super spreaders and we were also mass vaccine test subjects - - - - - and looking back I think the vaccine idea was really much better, these days no one really worries about polio but on the other hand all of us who got to be intentionally exposed to Chickenpox now get to look forward to the possibility of having to deal with shingels - - either that or once again get a vaccine for that

frankly if you believe any politician, or any other person who does not have a degree in specifically in the study of vaccines you are a fool.

seriously there are actually people out there who's claim to fame are as journalists and fiction writers who are now pretending to be experts on this and what's even worse is that there are people who believe them

being an expert in immunology and in vaccines takes years and years of education and field work it is not something some tabloid guy or a politician can run out and research and knowledgeably report on.

We are all free to do as we wish, and I 100% support everyones right to make their own choices, but I also hope any pray that the people I care about would make their choice with real information from truly qualified sources - not the media, not the politicians, not the tabloids, not social media, and not people who claim to have talked to real sources - - dont trust anyone to tell you what others have said - - go straight to the sources, the studies and trials are out there out there - go read them yourself - please

oh - and please do not go to the politicians and media you think support your side - - they are guaranteed to feed you exactly what you want to hear and just because you like what they say does not make it true

Biden is trying to use the vaccine for political gain and when Trump was touting operation warp speed and the vaccine it would produce he was also trying to benefit politically. In the end Trump actually is the only one of the two who has any right to take credit for the vaccine. Without his administrations push and funding the Pfizer vaccine might not even exist

that's kind of what I discovered, but without it getting to the point of an accident. With my slingshot being my daily driver there were several times when I was on wet roads or even going through an intersection with water and the touchiness would easily kick the back out - after a few times it became abundantly clear that at speed on a twisty road the PC would just asking for trouble - on straight freeways when needing to pass or something it might help a bit but that's about it in my view and just not worth the increased risk in other conditions.

SoCal - I find it a bit funny, before your accident when you still had your classic gray slingshot there was a short period of time when I considered giving you my pedal commander, but before I could make the offer your incident happened and you no longer could use it.

My pedal commander is in a drawer in my bedroom. At first I liked it made it feel snappy, but in the end I think it’s just an illusion not real performance gain and the illusion comes at a cost of less control. Don’t get me wrong it’s fun, and if you have really crappy reaction time it might even help. Just not for me. Too touchy for my daily driving

Very long time ago I volunteered for local congressional candidate Mark Sharpe. He spoke to a group that was sponsored by the Bar association where my wife worked. He arrived early and helped my wife setup tables for the event. This impressed me. If you want to be on my good side, be good to my family.

The work I did was design promotional materials. We were really poor at the time so I would bike to his HQ pick up my assignments and bike back to bring proofs. His office manager was typical drop dead gorgeous Republican. Everyone was kind and respectful to me. To them I wasn't hispanic or poor I was an American, I was a fellow campaign volunteer. This included the candidate's own mother, a woman who seemed very proper upper middle class who spoke to me and thanked me for helping. I was even invited to the after party.

To a democrat I'm nothing more than my race, sexuality and economic situation. Those 3 things say absolutely nothing about me.

I hate to break it to you, its not just the Democrats that want keep us divided, in fact the Republicans love that you believe that because thinking that way adds to the division

ALL Politicians R's and D's survive and retain power through division and thinking its only one side that uses division as a tool just means they are succeeding

I've been saying for a very long time that I believe the 2 parties want to keep us divided, Democrat, Republican, it doesnt matter, they are all in it for their own power and they know that the only way they can keep that power is to keep us, the people, fighting among ourselves and divided.
