It was a long, long week getting all things together to make this happen. Paperwork... paperwork... paperwork... phone call after phone call and more phone calls. When it got here I checked all fluids, adjusted the mirrors, kicked the tires and got in a 80 mile ride. Got a call in to transfer the warranty. I guess I have that special model of SLR, it turns off the traction control when you ain't looking.

The Eastwood aerosol product would hopefully reach more of the tubing surfaces. I'm assuming the hot linseed oil would need the frame to be rotated to ensure coverage of the inner tube surfaces. I know I'm not strong enough to rotate my frame to ensure any coating would coat the insides of the frame tubing.
I don't know as I never heard of the eastwood product. Yes you would have to rotate the frame with linseed oil. Linseed oil may be old hat compared to today's products but I have never kept up with such things. Way back when there was no internet to research things like this, now you can find out all kinds of things and watch video's of it being done.
I haven't tried it, but I believe Eastwood offers a frame paint that can be sprayed inside the frame tubes for enhanced rust protection. Rust Stopping Products: Treatment & Removal - Eastwood
Tube and fabric small aircraft builders have used hot linseed oil to coat the inside of tubing on aircraft. You can buy it at hardware stores.

Hey! I live not to far from Katy as well, just north in Cypress. My Slingshot is actually sitting in a shop near Katy Mills Mall getting some upgrades now, or I'd stop by and take you for a ride. Tons of fun! We have at least a few other in the Katy area as well. This video right here was mostly shot in Katy, at Katy Mills Mall, LaCenterra Cinco Ranch, and Westgreen and I-10. Houston has one of the best rider groups in the country, extremely diverse group. As Danna said, try to hook up with us during the weekend of March 30th.... Meet us on Saturday at Mancuso Gulf Freeway for the cookout, and we cruise to Galveston afterwards. You can have my passenger seat, unless some random hot chick steals it before you... what a hassle...
I know where your slings hiding out, may have to go over there and have a look at it. They recently put an alarm system on my 1993 Chevy 4x4. Cypress is where I go do my shooting (Hotwells). I got myself in trouble today so won't be needing to sit in someones pass seat. Oh shut my mouth I almost gave it away.
No I haven't seen anything to say there was any less strength - just something we noticed.Polaris has to keep weight under a certain point to keep it as a motorcycle, they were pretty much maxed out in the early models and because of that they couldn't add on many options. They started a bunch of changes to reduce weight and that was one area.

Special thanks goes to BKL. He came over and let me ride/drive his mean as 2015 turbo machine. Spent about an hour driving it with some passenger time as well. Another 1 1/2 hours splaining what he's done to his machine and other stuff about slings. The sling is one crazy as machine. Those things sit so low I now know what it's like to look up to (basically) everyone else on the road. Seats seems to be comfortable enough. Thanks BKL it was a fun ride.

Thanks for the offer, not sure if I can make the trip. I just made a 2000 mile trip up north and my butt hurt all the way up and back. Maybe it was the truck seat. Have to take a long drive in the wife's car and see if things are better in it.
Were you thinking of Stephen F. Austin State Park? I used to ride my SV650 from Spring, TX to Pattison just so I could ride FM 1458 (aka Racer Road) from Pattison to San Felipe and back. Haven't ridden that in a while. I'm retired and available for a ride just about any afternoon/evening or weekends after Noon (I like to stay up late). PM me if interested.
